Just remembered to write this as i dont uaually !!! but after reading some reviews before i visited was a bit confused that id made the wrong choice for my holiday !!! to my suprise i had a brilliant holiday !! I can see that if your on a lads or girls (20s-30s) holiday this is a bit out the way !! but taxis are cheap !! friendly staff !!! but most importantly met some lovely guest and had a real fun holiday !! Faro 2 is quite as the new complex at the light house has taken some of there trade but we had lovely meals there !!! I shall definatley book again for next may !!! cause the price we paid excellent value !! and hope to get a bargain again next year !!!
- Advice: Ask other people where to eat and visit uaually others have been there for a couple of days !! But always remember what others like you might not !!

Stayed at the cay beach princess end of may,and after seeing previous reviews was abit worried but shouldnt have been holiday was fantastic....
Place is ideal for familes and couples my 4year son loved it...
The bungalows were very clean we loved sitting outside for breakfast and in the evening, lots of cats but they only come round if you are freindly with them (which we were) or they leave you alone, the pool was lovely so many pools to choose from, kids pool can be very warm which is good, we always got sun loungers even though people do put towels on them. they have a park on site which is fine. The reception staff are quite friendly but what i didnt like was if we were in a queue the spanish would come in and they would serve them 1st which i think is very rude! the supermarket is very expensive worth getting a taxi to a place called 'lighthouse' supermarkets cheaper here, we did take our own cereals and tea which was worth it, They have a bbq night thurs which is great the drinks and food are very expensive though even in happy hour they put prices up.
So we went out most nights in a taxi for 3 euros to the lighthouse which had great bars and restaurants for cheaper and better food, i highly recommend the 19th hole you get giving a discount card by rep so the prices are great the food is fantastic, the place lovely and very friendly, they couldnt do enough for us and were lovely with our son, if you like burgers try here they are lovely..they do other great meals too (wish we had found this place earlier) we also went to an all you can eat chinese which was great..They do have a mcdonalds in playa da ingles if you have young children just get in taxi for 4 euros.
Rep matt was very friendly their most days if you needed him, if going to aqua park and you have young children take note their is a height restriction on all rides so their is only a play pool for younger kids which we wasnt told about very expensive considering we had to keep going on things separatley nothing for all of us to go on, my son still enjoyed it though.
Would def go back to cay beach princess for 7 days instead of 10 though and would sit by pool all day & go out in evening, this is a very chilled out holiday just not great location still fanatastic!
- Advice: Stay by the pool in the day, get taxi out in the evening to lighthouse area

I've just come back from a 2 week stay with my husband and 2 year old son and loved every minute! Our accomdation was excellent, we had 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room, a patio area at the front and a small area out the back for us to hang our wet clothes.
The pool is great, it's huge and hardly anyone is in it at any one time. Only downside is that its cold, but once you're in, its lovely. My son enjoyed going in the childrens pool which was heated and not at all deep. There are also jacuzzi chairs which are nice and relaxing! One annoying thing is how you have to get up early to reserve a sunbed with your towel but I suppose you get that at all hotels.
The evening entertainment wasn't really my cup of tea as they had an Elvis tribute act amongst other tribute acts but my son loved getting on stage at the mini disco. The kids club could be better, the toys seem a bit dated. Melissa the lady who arranges the entertainment was brilliant. She was very friendly and encouraged everyone to get involved.
The restuarant on site was great, there was an all you can eat buffet with a variety of food including steak and fish, we ate here twice and it was lovely. Breakfast however wasn't great, the bacon tasted funny and was a bit ropey and there weren't any sausages. They had mini donuts too but I could use it to knock on the table. This was the only downer to the holiday though.
The pool bar was great and had everything you needed, the staff were really friendly and spoke good english.
There isn't many bars and restaurants close to the hotel. The Faro complex was about 15 minutes walk but there was only 2 or 3 restaurants and 2 supermarkets there. The food wasn't that great at either of the places we ate either.
I would however recommend anyone to get a taxi to Faro (lighthouse), it only cost 3euros each way and the restaurants right on the beach are AMAZING! We were spoilt for choice and ended up going back every night. I especially loved Faro Boulevard. The staff were the nicest I've ever met in a restaurant, they loved my son and even remembered his name when we went back the 2nd time. The food was incredible too! There is another section with restaurants too but they didn't seem as nice in comparison.
We went to Holiday World which is within walking distance from the Hotel, its a small theme park with arcades, bowling and restaurants. This was ok for what it was but not that many rides to go on so don't get too excited!
I'd recommend visiting the local market as its really big and you could get a bargain, just wished I'd haggled a bit more!
We visited Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogan. We got the bus there which was 6 euros for the 3 of us and a 30 minute trip. Only problem is its on very windy roads and the bus got very busy and hot, needless to say, we got a taxi back. Mogan is a very pretty little town which has lots of restaurants and a lovely beach, we took a boat to Puerto Rico which is nice too.
We visited Palmitos Park, its a nice zoo and you can see shows with the parrots, birds of prey and dolphins. My husband even had a falcon on his head at one stage! It's quite expensive at 25 euros each but worth going just for the dolphin trip, just take your own food and drink because prices are a bit steep!
All in all I would recommend going here. We're considering going back already and have only been back for 2 days!

Hi
I have just come back from a 2 week holiday and wish I was still there. Cay Beach Princess is a beautiful and friendly complex - the staff provided a first class service. The bungalows were clean and comfortable and the cleaners arrived regularly to change the linen/towels and clean the floors. The garden surroundings are filled with beautiful plants and well looked after.
The reception / restaurant & bar staff were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. I will definitely be returning again this year.

DO NOT waste your hard earned cash booking this accomodation!!!
The bungalows are tiny, dirty and nowhere near 3* The air conditioning doesn't work and the showers leak everywhere. You may be as lucky as us and have a shower screen covered in mold!!!
The food is unedible in the evenings. Our entire party spent two days being sick.
The holiday rep is totally useless. Thomson really dont care about their customers.
Cockroaches, ants and cats everywhere.
Hardly any parasols around the pool.
Hotel manager is horrible!
Terrible entertainment!
Never, ever, ever, ever again!
Thomson you should be ASHAMED!!!!!!!!
- Advice: Do not book!!!!!

Just came back from a two week holiday to the cay beach princess apts a week ago. Myself,my partner, teenage son and young daughter. It was absolutely brilliant. The apartment was very clean, air conditioning was very good.Towels and sheets were changed regularly and the cleaning staff are very efficient. At night the complex is nice and quiet, which is great and means you can get a decent sleep. The kitchen is good has all mod cons including a coffee maker. The complex itself is a bit away from the nearest bar or restaurant but theres always taxis outside to take you to meloneras, or playa de ingles. There are 3 centres in playa de ingles we visited, the yumbo centre, gran chaparal and jarin de sol. The last two are more bars and restaurants, and the yumbo centre has bars, restaurants and loads of shops .The beaches arent very good, lots of pebbles rather than sand. The new rep stephen was very good, very helpful and very well informed. Gave us a lot of tips for a great holiday. If you go to the welcome meeting he will give you green banana card which gives you discounts at restaurants, bars and shops that have the sign in there window. We saved a lot of money. But make sure you say when you ask for the bill that you have the card and can show them it. Meloneras has a great restaurant called fontaine de trevi. There steaks, pasta and chateau brione is brilliant, tiramisu is beautiful and te waiting staff are great. The yumbo centre has a great restaurant called the britannia, which serves great fish chips and mushy peas. There is a market in maspalomas on a saturday and a wednesday. Its very good and you perhaps have to haggle a bit, but its worth it.Over all we had a great holiday and we would go back again. issing the place already.
- Advice: Great place for relaxing with your family. Would go back tomorrow.

We stayed here and I must say we had a fantastic time we booked through Portland and even though we did not speak much to the rep we saw him about most days. The complex was spotless and the rooms were clean and tidy. It has a free bus to take you into maspalomas and this runs up to 6pm. We arrived on a late flight about 10pm and we could get no food as even the bar had stopped serving snacks. We got a taxi into Maspalomas or Playa Ingles for around 5euro. There was no entertainment at the complex to speak about so you would need to go out the bar was always dead when we went out or arrived back.
We did not book any of the trips from the rep we got the local bus and visited some of the more popular resorts Puerto de Mogan is beautiful and a must see.
The beach is excellent but can get windy. We ate 2 evenings at the nineteenth hole in meloneras and the entertainment was always good.
We did here quite a few guest we spoke to complaining about the food being just warm so we didnot eat in the complex.
All in all a great holiday and I am looking for this year we may go back again in September.

I have just returned from the cay beach princess bungalows in maspalomas, and must say how fantastic they were!
The rooms were spotless could not fault them one little bit. They were very spacious, clean and tidy with towels and bed linen changed which seemed like everyday! The pool and pool bar were of a very high standard, again clean and tidy and well maintained.
The rep at the cay beach, was fantastic (scott). He has got alot of helpfull tips and advice and where to go and what to do, and is 100% honest!! I must say he is the best holiday rep i have ever had!
The only minor about the accomodation for me was the location of them. The nearest centre with bars and restuarants to them is the Faro 2 centre which is about a 15 minute walk, and considering the size of the Faro 2 centre their really didnt seem to be alot there, about 2 bars and 2 restuarants, although this could have something to do with the time of year that we had gone! So we found ourselves getting a taxi down into playa del ingles, and the grand chapperal centre most evenings!!
Also another great night out is at Sparkles show bar, a bar where they have great drag acts, and is such a great evening and they are even great with children from what we saw!!
- Advice: Maspalomas is a great holiday resort and the sand dunes are a must!

Just got back from 11 wonderful days at this resort. Cannot fault anything, everything from our thomson rep (Scott) to the cleaners and bar staff were first class! This is an ideal resort for anybody and everybody, as it is so peaceful and tranquil, it makes for a great place to relax. The pool was amazing, although a bit cold but this is a welcome relief on such hot days. The food at the pool bar was very nice, and reasonably priced too, but We didn`t spend many evenings at the resort and ventured into Playa del Ingles or Melonares. There are lots of restaurants on the sea front, we tried a few but tended to dine at "Toro piedra" most of the time as the food and the service here was second to none. " Tropicana" at the yumbo centre was also very nice. Most of the restaurants all seem to have similar menu`s, catering for most with dishes of pasta, steak, fish etc. There are alot of chinese retaurants offering all you can eat buffets too. I would advise anybody to avoid "great wall III" at all costs. The food was disgusting here!!! Greasy, gloopy food (with hairs in!!). rice that smelt days old, and even ice cream with flies in!! It was pretty much the only bad thing I have to say about my holiday though. We did go on a few really good excursions, the best being the zig zag safari in the open top jeeps. Its a great way to see parts of the island that you wouldn`t otherwise see as it takes you up into the mountains with so many breathtaking sights to see and then to a camel park for dinner and camel rides. It really is a great day out and in such good company too as the tour guide and the drivers are really funny and entertaining. We also went to palmitos park, which is an animal park with parrot shows, dolphin shows, and lots of other animals. All in all we had a great time, a great place to stay and the glorious canarian weather. Would definately return.

Holiday in general was amazing but on my last day i had clothes stole from the room by the maids and from i came home i have been trying to get them back,by speaking to the receptionist but they keep telling me to call back to speak to cleaner so ive been doing that but apparently the cleaner can not hear on telephones! i would not recommend this hotel no-one goes on holiday to have their clothes stole by the maids...................
