Malta Europa Hotel reviews

Jun 2008,

This is very modest hotel that in my opinion does not deserve 2 stars, although it has some good sides. What I didn’t like: - Very noisy environment. You can hear when someone is walking the hallway, or when people are speaking little more loudly in the near by room.... more

May 2007, Mr G Price

Booked the hotel for a couple of nights very cheap but it was a three star place. If you go here get a room on the top floors, as you cannot here the awful music from the bar/nightclub, which is way too loud for the amount of people that go in. The music is operated by the... more

Dirty, Unkept and Run Down
The room was flthy and nothign worked. Light globes were blown, the shower was mouldy and did not work properly, the towel rail had fallen off. The bed was terrible and the furntiure was falling apart and fit for a tip. Dont stay there. I was scared to put anything on the floor as it was dirty. The web site is compeltelty inaccurate does not portray what the place is really like.
Hell Hole!
We´ve stayed in some very ordinary places before, but this one takes the cake. The worst hostels in the world, are cleaner than this place. I´ve travelled to 30 countries, and never once complained about a hotel, but I cant hold back on this one. The rest of the bad reviews are all absolutely true. This place is absolutely filthy. The sheets and towels are all stained with who knows what, the toilet doesnt flush, the shower is mouldy, the cleaners dont do anything except pull the top sheet over the bed, we know this cos we pulled up... more
Great budget hotel for the great price
I have spend a week in Europa Hotel and I must admit that I was nicely suprised.. First of all, the ballance of the price and the quality of services. Be reallistic! For the money I have spend while booking I have got clean room with astonishing sea view in the super location!!!.. Well - maybe the breakfast wasn't a le Carte level, maybe the room wasn't furnished in modern style, but I came to Malta not to stay in hotel for 24 hours per day... The money I saved on hotel I have spend on much more valuable things - sightseeing, diving and... more
Budget hotel
Our age: 25 - 30; traveller ID: book a plane-ticket and see what comes up (relying on Lonely Planet or Guide Du Routard) In July 2006 we paid 46€ per night per room for bed and breakfast. We had one of the seaview rooms, for which you have to pay extra. Mind you, it's well worth the extra money, as these seaview rooms are located apart from the other rooms, which were packed with "English summer school"-students during our stay (6 nights) (and they are loud!). Seaview rooms are also located on the north side, and if you keep your... more
Warning - Do not stay here
Upon viewing the hotels website the place looked ok, Dont be fooled We arrived at the front desk and paid upfront for 4 nights, big mistake. The rooms we absolutely filthy, the sheets where not clean (dirty with hair everywhere), the toilet didnt flush, the TV didnt work. I asked about the TV getting changed but apparently they were upgrading the TV system, yeah right, I think that they should upgrade the people that run this hell hole. After all that I returned to the front desk to ask for a refund and they refused... more
U Think Eurpoas Bad Try St Georges Park
We booked in to the Europa by internet after we had a bad experiance at the St Georges Park (not there fault) .we booked a sea view room which was a magnificent View. The only down side to all this was the tiles falling off the walls, The cieling fan had seen better days and was dirty, glass doors to balcony could do with a clean, beds old as was linnen, and pillows, door lock u needed to be Houdine to get in,bathroom seen better, but room was spascius wardrobe doors needed handles. Found staff to be helpful, Bar pleasant and bar person... more
Lovely budget hotel, great friendly staff, fatastic location
I just returned from a one week visit to Malta. We decided to book the hotel through the internet, and found Europa Hotel on -------. This site offered the best rates, so we were somewhat worried that the rates offered could in no way afford such fresh surroundings that the site showed. Anyway we got there and were plesantly surprised that the hotel was an exact reflection of the website. As stated, it has a great sea front location in Sliema, one of the most popular areas of the island. The sea view rooms are large, extremely clean and... more
The worst hotel in the Western World
I checked in at about 1pm on Friday 03/06 and had checked out again by 1.15. This place is awful. I know its cheap but I expected a little more, especially after seeing the hotels website where they must have used photos of a completely different hotel. The reception area was a building site. I was asked to pay up front and thought that at least the room might be okay and I was tired, so I agreed. Big mistake. I had one of the seaview rooms and had booked a double. The room had a really rotten smell, there were 5 beds (yes, 5) and the... more
Just don't do it
Some people say that students will stay anywhere. Let me tell you this is not true. My boyfriend and I traveled abroad for the summer to Malta. Our exchange program booked us at the Europa. The first night we were there, we were given a room that was roughly the size of a closet. The sheets were filthy and we slept on top of them. The bathroom was dirty and filled with mosquitoes because the windows did not close all the way. The shower was lacking a fausett head, and a garden hose was in its place. There was also no closet, and the room was... more
Money for nothing and chicks for free
I spent a week in Europa Hotel in Sliema. Let me mention that I reserved a seaview room for some extra Lira (or Pound). We arrived just after noon (baggages lost in Frankfurt). We were told that that day there were no seaview room available but just a normal room. I agreed... what could I have done? Before the reservation I was requested to fax an authorization form that they can collect the money from my account - which was stupid of me doing so. Otherwise I might just leave the place. This thought just proved to be right having seen the... more
