Simply-furnished 1 bedroom self...

Simply-furnished 1 bedroom self catering apartments on 2 levels, in 2 long blocks, with pool area and snack bar in between. Well-maintained with comfortable beds and kept clean by efficient and friendly maid service. 2-ring ceramic hob, no oven, but electric kettle and also a hairdryer provided (in bathroom). Usual 3/4 bath with shower, plenty of hot water from water heater under the sink.
Situated in a quiet street, very slightly uphill, (nothing difficult) within a few minutes walk of the main street and shops, bars, restaurants. Reception closes at 7pm, but if you arrive after that, your room number is displayed in the window and the room is left unlocked for you, with the keys inside. Departures after that time just drop keys in reception postbox.
If apartment on upper floor access by exterior spiral staircase shared by 2 balconies. Ground floor apartments have terrace. All balconies/terraces face the sea (but no sea view) and get the sun from morning to night.
Excellent location for walking along seafront to the old town & harbour, or the other way to Matagorda & the airport runways. Or on to Arrecife if you feel like it!
We would be perfectly happy to return to these apartments. Recommended.

Stayed here for 1 week. Apartments...

Stayed here for 1 week. Apartments were basic but very clean and cleaned everyday, except 2. Saw no bugs. Pool area was great, always a lounger available. There is a basic bar that serves snack food as well - sandwiches, chips etc. Didn't actually eat here but saw other peoples food and it look good. I would definitely stay here again.
There are a good few supermarkets close by, there is a Spar at the end of the road (turn right when you come out of Oasis).
We were told to go into the 5* hotel in Arrecife, 17th floor has floor to ceiling windows and offers fantastic views. There is a bar and a restaurant there. We stayed for a meal and it was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this, even if you only go for a beer, well worth the view.
There are a lot of day trips available on the island, we opted to hire a car for the day and found this to be much more economical. Car hire is very cheap, we paid €35 for an Opel Astra from Pay-less Cars, I bought a guide book and it recommended doing the trip over 2 days, but we did it in one. We did miss out a couple of things, but its easily achievable.
There is a perfume chain called Charlies, we were told by the tour rep that the one under McDonalds will give you up to 20-25% off the asking price. Just tell them that you get your perfume there when ever you are over. I did this and got 20% off. However, there is a duty free shop at the airport and found the perfumes there to be cheaper than the shops. Also they are VERY strict on luggage. They WILL charge you for being only 1 kilo over. We were lucky that we were under going over so managed to get a couple of bottles into our luggage, but there is no shortage of choice in the duty free, and then no worry of having to pay excess.

I stayed at the Oasis Apartments with my fiancée (both early 20's). We had a lovely 2 weeks and would definitely go back again. The weather was gorgeous and the apartments were everything we wanted- basic but clean and spacious.
A nice 10 minute stroll downhill to the beach and the main strip where there's something to suit everyone. Pool was more than big enough and sunbeds were always available.
The weather was very hot during our stay. Please don't be fooled by the constant breeze as we were on our first day.....ended up with a burnt backside and struggled to sit down for the first few days! Make sure you get your cream on!
Would definitely recommend a taxi ride to Puerto Callero (think that's how its spelt!). The locals said this was the exclusive part of the island where the rich boat owners dine and they were right. It's a beautiful harbour with a row of very classy restaurants and it didn't cost much more to eat there than it did to eat on the strip. Also take a walk up to the old town if you like a restaurant with a nice view.
If you can, get a taxi to and from the airport as it works out cheaper. Its about €15 rather than 40 which is the going rate for travel operators. Another plus to doing this, is that you miss the queues on the way home because you get to the airport before all the coaches do!
Ricks bar is a quality bar- very friendly and run by an English couple from Blackpool. The atmosphere in there is the best we experienced.
For all you squeamish people that don't like bugs......had one roach in the apartments in 2 weeks and not a single mossie bite.
That's my essay over folks..... oh just one more thing- book your flight and apartments online and separately- we got 2 weeks for 2 people for £500. HAPPY HOLIDAYS X

We stayed for a week here & it was brilliant! I couldn’t recommend these Apartments highly enough.
Very friendly staff couldn't do enough to help. Apartments very clean, friendly staff, loads of sunbeds, literally 5mins from beach.
We went as a break from wedding preparations & I loved it. Could relax there while being near enough to town, beach, and other amenities.
It was definitely the best holiday I've ever been on. Am definitely going back!

We found the Oasis Apartments perfect...

We found the Oasis Apartments perfect for what we were looking for, a two week family holiday.
Our daughter is 11 years old and really made the best of the pool, although we also spent a lot of time at the beach which was about a 15 minute walk away.
The apartments are basic but clean and the location of the apartments is perfect - far enough away from the very busy sea front (5 mins walk) but quiet enough for a peaceful night’s sleep.

I wrote a review of these apartments...

Dec 2006, Mrs J Palmer

I wrote a review of these apartments in June and highly recommended them.
We returned to exactly the same place in September but this time with our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. They said it was the best holiday they had ever!
As our granddaughter is disabled these apartments were perfect for her. Everything is flat, giving easy access to all areas especially around the pool area.
The living area of the apartment allows plenty of room to move around and all the surrounding areas outside the apartment complex offer very pleasant walks, with everything you want to hand.
All of us enjoyed the holiday very very much and will without a doubt be returning to Puerto Del Carmen -Oasis apartments, Superb!

Holiday 17-sept to 1 0ct 2006.Arrived...

Oct 2006, Mr C J Docherty

Holiday 17-sept to 1 0ct 2006.Arrived and was allocated ground apartment (room 103).
Next morning water leak in bathroom and fridge not working. Complained to reception and very quickly fridge replaced and “leak” apparently sorted. We requested changing to balcony apt. and were told this would take 2/3 days and would cost 12 euros for the change.
Given new apartment upstairs first thing 2 days later (ROOM 202) What a difference, to start with living area looked much bigger than downstairs and balcony very private whereas below no privacy at all. We did have a further problem with the fridge there also and despite 2 visits by female cleaning supt. were told fridge ok. Milk bought one day, gone off next day and had to resort to buying long life milk. Fridge was working but not to full capacity. Only discovered with 3 days to go of our fortnight holiday that the problem was a faulty seal round the door, found by ourselves, resulting in warm beer and slightly cool white wine in the evening. Balcony was perfect with sun from morning till evening and would highly recommend pushing for an upstairs apt.
Overall, a very enjoyable holiday, staff very nice and nice little pool bar with friendly approach. The pool, despite other reviews was NOT frozen but just perfect. Also cleaned every morning. As all are apartments for max of 3, majority of residents were couples, mostly in our age group, i.e. 50 /60 with the odd younger couples. Only 2 small children through whole fortnight. Pool area very quiet and very relaxing. Would also suggest if spending your time mostly around pool , you can hire the cushions for the beds by weekly at a cost of 12 euros for 2. Daily cost is 2.40 euros for 2. We only found out late in the second week. There is a card at reception giving details of things to hire (including toasters, as none in room) for a small complex, well run and most of all very relaxing. I would recommend on that basis. If you want a noisy and busy background, go elsewhere. Marks 7 out of 10.

Sep 2006, Miss V Mincher

The apartments were very clean and basic; maids came in every day except 2 days a week and cleaned right through. The pool was very clean and there was never a fight for a sun bed always some left when you went to the pool whatever time of day.
The apartments were in a quiet area but only a couple of minutes walk to the front where all the shops and bars were, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from lots of Chinese, Italian and Mexican restaurants, and we would recommend the American Indian cafe fantastic atmosphere reasonable and a live band, also the trips are good especially the south tour around the volcanoes.
It was extremely hot for sept 90-100 degrees most days so the apartments were very hot so a fan would be advisable which you can hire from reception.
We would return to the apartments as they were very good value for money and I hope you have a great holiday like we did staying there!

We loved these apartments so much we are going back in September. They are in an ideal position, close to everything yet very peaceful at night. Very spacious, well equipped, and clean.
We had no trouble with water as it was always very hot regardless of what time of day you needed a shower. The staff were friendly, the bar tender at the snack bar and the lady on reception were very helpful.
The swimming pool area was always clean and tidy and the water was pleasant with a nice little area for the kids. A handy tip - hire a sun bed cushion from reception, cheap and worth it. All in all we enjoyed every second of our stay here and would go back time after time. The holiday was faultless.

These apartments are clean and the maids visit frequently. The snack bar is clean and friendly, the pool was very cold!!
This was the only fault I could find in these apartments. They are walking distance to the town I would say 5 minutes cut through, the receptionist shows you the quickest route on a map. There is lots of supermarkets very near, plus phone box's.
That’s all I can think of telling you. :) Would I stay again YES...
