We arrived at the complex and we were pleasantly surprised to see reception was bright, clean and airy. The person on duty was very helpful and friendly. By the way, while getting your room key, I'd reccomend paying for the TV (14 euro for a week, 3 euro a night) and paying... more

Great Apartments... Great Location....
Returned from Lanzarote early hours this morning. Nine of us stayed in the Cinco Plaza Apartments for a week - We had 2 X 2-bedroomed apartments which were excellent. Spacious and roomy. We stayed in apt. 1118 and 1105 which was situated in the Amarillo block around one of the pools. We had a ground floor apartment and our terrace was just a few steps from the lovely, clean pool area. Pool was great but a bit on the cold side. Enough sunbeds to go around - we never found them all to be taken. Maid service was fine - no probs. Location is good too. Cinco Plaza Apts are situated on a hill about 5 mins walk from the main drag of bars & restaurants and nightlife. We were all expecting a horrendous hilltop location where we would all be dying once we reached our apts, but its not that bad really! Anyway a taxi from the "nightlife" cost us 2.60 euro's which was well worth it and we did this most of the time to save the walk home at night. Right next door to the apts was a bar/restaurant called Spinneka's. Very good food - cheap and really nice and they do some good entertainment in the evening. Went to a drag show there which was really good and not too over the top. Had a few cooked english breakfasts there too which were spot on. Also for eating try Pinnochio's (turn right at the bottom of the hill). Fantastic Curry, Rice & Chips if thats what you like - also Lasagne, pizza's etc very very nice. Further along from pinnochio's is a bar called Tito's - good Karaoke night out. Turn left at the bottom of hill and cross the road and you will come to a Cocktail bar called Golden Centre I think ! ! ! Cocktails to die for - massive and trimmed with all the Del Boy trimmings you could hope for - well worth it. Also the Lani Tex Mex Restaurants are good, but my favourite was The Place which is right on the seafront. Excellent food. MMMmmmmm. Beach is right at bottom of hill and is very nice too - lots of sand and very clean. Bad points of this holiday - NONE (that I can think of). You will have a great time and if the weather keeps nice as it did for us you will have a fantastic time.
Fantastic holiday!
We stayed at the Cinco Plaza for 2 weeks at the beginning of May. We went in a group of 3 adults and 3 kids(3,9 and 13)The apartments were wonderful, spotlessly clean and very spacious. Nice little kitchen area with 2 hobs and a microwave, even a bottle of washing up liquid! There were 3 large pools, all very clean, and a kids pool. Good entertainment programme everyday including water gym, water polo, bingo, kids disco every night, parrot show, reptile show etc... All ran by a lovely entertainment guy called James, really friendly and great with the kids! The reception staff were very helpful, we forgot our buggy and they arranged that night for us to hire one from a local company. Handy little mini market in the hotel, although there is a Netto next door. Only a 5 minute walk down to the beach which was lovely. Lots of lovely restaurants, must try "La Dolce vita" the food everytime we ate there was great, and very reasonably priced, kids meals only 3.00 euro and adult meals starting from 5 euros, wide range, fish, pizza, pasta, steak.... friendly staff too. Also recommend "Lani's Cantina" a mexican style restaurant, delicious! The Star Bar was also a great night out, family friendly bar with a live drag act every night, he was superb, and the bar staff were brill! We went to the Waterpark at Fuerteventura, 15 minutes on the ferry, great day out for the kids! Also the Rancho Texas Park, lovely afternoon out, lots to see and some good shows, wasn't expensive to get in either. Would highly recommend Cinco Plaza and Peurto Del Carmen, I'd go back tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great place
Stayed at cinco plaza on May6th for 2 weeks. On arrival looked ok but when we got inside and too our rooms they were great. Plenty of room and nice and clean. Most TV channels were free aswell which is good. Hotel has 3 pools and all are really nice and clean. Has little play park but nothing special. Sunbeds were available everyday and didn't go out to people putting there towels on them and leaving them. All the staff where very friendly and nice. James the entertainer is such a nice person and is very friendly with everyone. Never tried food but nice ice creams. Next to hotel was spinnaker which has some great nights and only next door being great and also netto next door for all u cheap grub if needed. There is a bank leading up to hotel to get to the beach but to me it wasn't a problem to others it might be. The beach is very nice but no waves to surf on u rubber rings. Tex Mex Cantinas was a great restaurant and very highly recommended. LOts of restaurants and tropical bar is good for the younger one's to go dancing. We went to water park at Feteuventura and was ok just like most others. Water park in puerto del carmen is mean't to be awful so keep away. Went on submarine which was ok but not many different types of fish which was dissapointing. Also went to texas ranch park in the day for animals which if u have kids they will like it but not for couples. All in all had great holiday and would stay there again. If u thinking of staying here go for it u won't be disapointed. :)
Coming back
We have just returned from a weeks break to cinco plaza. Our week was fantastic. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who welcolmed us to cinco plaza. She explained everything to us and gave us a map to our room. Room was very clean, we was not dissapointed. About 5 mins walk from hotel was the beach and shops. lots of nice places to eat out, quite a variety to choose from not too expensive. A must is to visit the rancho Texas Park, free sangria and beer all night!!! Great fun for all the family, even a meal to soak up all that alcohol. Another fun night out is the music hall tavern, bundles of laughs with " titti Trollop " and her friends. Back at the hotel there were plenty of sunbeds around the pool, they even have a big screen for the footy!!!! We found the food at the hotel very nice especially the steak!!! very mouth watering. The weather never let us down either very hot as always. Will be coming back to cinco plaza thats for certain!! One thing that i will say about the hotel is that there is quite a steep slope from one part of the hotel to another and if you got a buggy or are in a wheelchair beware you could end up straight into the main swimming pool ahead of you!!!!! you have been warned.Other than that our holiday could'nt of been better.
Exellent Place..Very Clean,Great Value Accomidation
Myself,my partner and my 2 children have just returned from a weeks stay at the cinco plazas..WOW! what a great place, exellent all round with spacey clean accomidation and 3 large swimming pools, and 1 childrens pool, and a great entertainment programme, i was very impressed. We booked 7 months in advance with thomson holidays and paid £627.20 which also included a weeks parking at luton airport, flights transfers accomidation and rep services i thought for what we got was a great affordable bargain. I would highly reccomend the cinco plazas, they had water polo, bingo, darts, large screen tvs for all football games and other activities in the day, followed by parrots shows, reptile shows childrens discos at night, my boys aged 6 & 7 were kept entertained well! i would give a special mention to the entertainments guy (james) he was great with both the adults and children, very welcoming and polite. There is a bar/resturant near the beautiful reception area that serves a wide range of snacks, main meals and drinks, a buffet style breakfast was on offer for about £4. They also give you the oppertunity to go half board to include brekky and dinner for about £10 per day. The apartments are situated within walking distance to the main street of peurto del carmen which has about a 2-3mile strip of bars, resturants and shops. WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND A VISIT !!!!!
Nice rooms but poor soundproofing
stayed here in the Cinqo Plaza Apts in Peurto Del Carmen Lanzarote 3/10th May 2007. The rooms , by Lanzarote standards, were very clean and well appointed. Threre was a two ring cooker, microwave, kettle toaster and coffee maker. The TV had some free channels including Sky News and there were other channels you could pay for. The apartments were family orientated with a lot of activities for children, of which there were many! The rooms themselves had very poor soundproofing and you could here everything (yes everything) from the adjoining rooms. The apartments had been renovate recently and were still in that 'new' state but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday with peace and quiet at night then this isn't the one for you.
Brilliant apartments in great location - great value
Me and my boyfriend just got back from a week here and loved it. We booked it really last minute - booked on the Friday to leave on the Wednesday through a last minute website so got a pretty cheap deal all together. The studios/apartments are in a great location - just up the hill off the main strip, so nice and quiet but great for just walking 2 minutes down the hill to get to Puerto del carmen. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment that backed on to the road, but was really quiet as the bedroom was onto the pool front. Most of the apartments have lovely views - either of the pool or like us, a sea view which was a real asset. There were twin beds, a nice bathroom with bath and shower and a really big living/kitchen area with all u need....except an oven, but that was fine as we werent planning on cooking any huge meals there anyways! The cleaners came 5 days a week, changing linen once a week and were great - even doing all the washing up there too! All the staf were great and reception is 24 hour service should u need it. There are three pools there - 2 small and one large one - and the only complaint that I had about the whole holiday was that in the first few days it was impossible to get a lounger by the pool unless u got up at 8am, but after the Germans and Scandanavians had left it was really quiet so we got beds towards the end of the week! And the beach there is really nice, so we ended up going there anyway! All together a really nice freindly hotel complex, basic but perfectly adequate self catering apartments...couldnt ask for anything more!
nice winter break
Stayed at cinco plazas in march 2007 , picked due to location into town and from airport and also puerto del carmen a bit busier in march than other resorts. Accommodation adequate, paint flaking off on balcony but clean and tidy, albeit no oven but microwave none the less. towels provided. walls very thin can hear everything from other rooms!sunbeds, plenty of these and not many reserved by those germans either! generally good, dont forget they are only 2 key in spanish ratings and thats the sort of clientele you will get there!!(noisy neighbours, pool jumping at night, rowdy on balconys). Puerto del carmen has a lovely prom to walk along, nice beach, lots of nice restaurants and lots of tacky souvenir shops all selling the same things! Package with thomson, they were good and very efficient, reps always around and flights on time.
Didn't love it
We booked Cinco Plazzas for 1 week self catering through Thomson following the great reviews posted. Nice and close to the airport (but not too close to cause any noise). Reception area small and staff friendly and helpful. A small convenience shop attached to the reception (must admit not so friendly). When you arrive, you are given a map of the appartments to guide you to your room which is easy to read. The appartments are split into 3 groups each with their own pool (though you can use all pools). The smaller pools are at the top end of the site and the large pool with a small (approx 8ft square) kids pool is at the back of the restaurant which is at the back of reception. There isn't what I would call a pool bar here. There is a bar in the restaurant but this was too formal and sometimes blocked off so you would have had to walk through reception to get to it. I was expecting a wooden shack with a fake grass roof where I could wander over in just my swim shorts and order a burger, chips and a pint to sit by the pool and have them. I didn't see one person eating or drinking at the place at all, all week! The pool areas were kept clean and have ice cream and drink vending machines around them (this adding to my review of the bar area) and unfortunately lots of empty sunbeds with towels on them (this, before 9am). We only found chance to use them once in our stay! Rooms are huge with microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine in the kitchen. Bedroom has a large double wardrobe in it with a large mirror. Balcony is also large with table and 3 chairs. Most people were saying the appartments had been recently renovated but the balcony had paint flaking from the plastered walls, the bathroom had mould around the bath and on the ceilings and the sofa looked old and worn. The walls seem very thin. We stayed on the 1st floor so nobody above us but we could hear every conversation, toilet flush and cough from the people next door to us. There is a Netto supermarket next door and Spinnakers Bar/Restuarant above that next door which was handy. Spinnakers was a good place to get a snack or a drink at anytime. They also had live entertainment every night, a very welcoming place to go, really friendly. Cinco is at the top of a hill and I know a lot of people comment on this. It's not that bad and not too steep but just a little boring once you've done it a few times. The main street has hundreds of shops, bars and restuarants down it. The Tavern has got to be a must for breakfast and the restaurants at the Harbour offer great food. All food is cheap here wherever you go. A taxi from Cinco to the habour costs about 3.20 euros. The beach lovely and clean apart from one patch which is behind the taxi parking as there's a strong smell of urine there (taxis aren't fitted with toilets). Texas Rancho Park was really good. Don't expect to stay there all day though as it isn't very big. Boat trip to Corrolejo was good to look around some different shops but not much to do here apart from that. Sand dunes are not much more that a lot of flat sand with weeds sticking out (nothing as spectacular as Maspolomas). All in all it was a nice relaxing break for us and we did enjoy it. Cinco Plazzas could improve and hope they do. I still think they're probebly one of the best appartments on offer in Puerto Del Carmen but in my opinion there are much much better ones elsewhere in the canaries in better resorts.

cinco plazas
Wow what a holiday, and you wont beleive it but i think we stayed in the previouse posters apartment . room 1113 . Fantastic pool maid service was excellent and she was so cfeerfull and helpfull. The staff were excellent the place was imaculate and we had beutifull weather .New years was packed but they gave loads out to the kids to keep them amused in the bars, lots of buy one get one frees on drinks that night. Every thing about this holiday was majical , there is a hill up to this hotel but hey it was a little excersise and after all we ate and drank it done us good.We went to the texas rancho during the day on saturday , volcanos and bbq on tuesday and puerto colero by boat friday. The rest of the week we laid by the pool soaking up the sun and ate out in local eaterys. The resteraunt meal we had was lovely. We ate in lanis steak house and lanis tex mex and lanis in puerto calero. I do recomend this chain as its not to badly priced and theres something for everyone. The chineese near the apartments ,new world cuisene well what can i say very nice and i am fussy with chineese and this was superb. We will be going to another island in canarys next year but cinco plazas i can not rate enouogh excellent excellent excellent. If i could pick it up and take it with me to another island i would. Puerto del carmen is a nice area for all ages we would go back but we are trying out all the canarys and like to experience different areas as you hear to many people gettiing into the trap of going to the same resort every year which if you have travellend around and finnaly decide thats the one for you then that fine but for us this is only my second trip abroad and the 1st with the kids so i want to experience all the areas. We went to benidorm in may and that was fantastic and of my 1st experience i could have easily got in that trap of going back . But thankfully i didnt and i can notch puerto del carmen of on our map . Do try cinco plazas if you have kids and want to get away and have a relaxing holiday , you can stay in or walk down the road and have busy pubs and the beacvh. Note though if you have no will power and will get ealily pulled in the pubs for the buy one get one frees then cross the road and walk on the beach side as we found it hard to say no to alcaholic beverages lol. Oh also we saw the camels on friday as it was there xmas it was amazing they through sweets out to the kids banginf drums and riding camels (not at the same time) . Men dressed as kings on the camels. Also beware there is still the men selling the watches on the streets but they are polite enough just say no.
