Have just come back from a week in Lanzarote and stayed in Barcarola.. have to say it was such a great place to stay, the staff are so friendly, we had our 4 year old DD with us and they were just so attentive to her. The place is so clean too. The only negative thing is the pool, it is absolutely FREEZING, but then again we didn't have great weather so that didn't help. But I think it should be heated a little! Will definitely be going back..

My partner and I stayed here in March 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked the hotel and got cheap flights from Easyjet.
The apartments are very nicely arranged in two-storey blocks (see my photos). It is an idyllic place to spend time relaxing, with restaurants and shops on your doorstep. Bars are a little further away, in the CC Atlantico and other shopping centres dotted along the road (Avenida de las Playas).
The pool was extremely cold, even though the weather was hot. They could do to heat it up! I realise it was March, but there was almost ice in the pool. However, lying by the pool was bliss. You can’t hear any noise from the surrounding area, just the twittering of the birds in the trees above you.
No kettle in the apartment – just a coffee machine that doesn’t get hot enough, so we used a pan instead. Satellite tv only had BBC World News and Eurosport in English. Thankfully, we had a dvd player for the nights we weren’t out.
No air conditioning in the apartments, so I wouldn’t go there in the summer.
This is a self-catering place and most things are provided – tea towels, cutlery, crockery, pans, etc. Little supermarkets around the area can supply everything else you need. (Franchesca supermarket across the road has a good selection of fresh cakes too!).

Me and various other family members have been to The Barcarola lots of time and have never been disappointed. Staff are great, pool area is lovely with lots of shady and sunny areas and the apartments are excellent. An oven would be a bonus but we've always managed with the hotplates provided. The Italian restaurant at the front of the hotel is a bit pricier than elsewhere, but well worth it

I found this holiday absolutely excellent. We have a teenager in a wheelchair and the facilities are very suitable for this. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The area around the apartments are perfect for daily walks and are very wheelchair friendly. I would highly recommend these apartments.

We booked our own flights and apartments on the internet, so was a little apprehensive, but no need to be apartments were excellent and clean, staff could not do any more for us, they were so friendly.
The pool area was kept in good condition and food was reasonable, but really we ate out most of the time. With two teenage girls of 16 I felt happy for them to be out in the resort on their own.
All round good holiday, I certainly would recommend the apartments and return myself.
