Fountaindale Hotel Reviews
" One night stay "
Submitted By: Sudoweb
I booked this through internet. We were only staying for one night but wanted a reasonably priced hotel and this was it. A lovely place, absolutely spotless. We wanted a double bed but one wasn't avilable and so had to settle for twin bedded room. Couldn't push the beds together as there was a bedside cabinet between the beds. After 33 years of marriage hubby and I still like to share a bed! We thought the room was quite small and although plenty of drawer space nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom which was just a shower (no bath). No hand soap just dispenser soap, so lucky we took our own shower gel! TV was a 14 inch flat screen on top of the wardrobe which was not easy to see clearly. To put it on and off you had to stand with your hand high in the air and press! Surprised it wasn't placed on a wall as although room small there was a fair bit of wall space. The breakfast was very good and lasted us through most of the day. Very firm on breakfast time. Served at 8.30 a.m. Would have liked a more flexible time - say between 8.00 and 9.00 but we were told that if we wanted a leisurely breakfast 9.00 would be too late as we had to vacate at 9.30 (which again disappointing as Skeg doesn't open until between 10.00 and 11.00 a.m. so had a bit of a wait in the car!) Cannot fault the friendliness or cleanliness. We were hoping to eat in at the hotel but as only tuna, chees or ham salad was on offer we decided it was too cold for salads and so ate out. Also were not told of lounge so when we returned from our "night out" at 10.00 p.m. we went straight to our small bedroom. Also be aware there is no bar!
Advice: Lots of lights, entertainment pubs and places to eat
Activities: Only went to one - Wall of China which was ok but the chicken with cashew nuts was very bland
Good for: Beach

There is always plenty to do for all the family in skegness. The hotel is central to the main areas but of the main road.
The breakfasts were great and you had a lot of choice, we stayed B&B and decided to take evening meals as Skegness is known to be full of chip shops. We were certainly glad we did, all the food was cooked by the owners Tracy and Martin and delish it was to. Soups were a meal in their own rights.
If you go to Skegness be certain to try the Fountaindale, it was great value for money we certainly will return.

This is a very beautifully presented hotel and it’s obvious that the owners wish to present its best aspects and high standards of service at all times.
A real home from home, excellent service throughout the stay, really great breakfast, room was lovely big with nice little touches, hairdryer etc, would recommend to people.
Overall, this hotel can be summarised as "you get what pay for" - it costs a bit more but I thought it was well worth it.

Had a four night stay at the Fountaindale with my wife. After a long drive from Sussex to Skegness we were welcomed by Tracy the owner, who was absolutely brill, nothing too much trouble.
The room which we had was on the front of the building, the bathroom was large and so so clean, we even had a fridge.
The breakfast was great plenty of choice and no grease in sight, delightful.
The beach was only minutes. We ventured to Lincoln to see were the Da Vinci code was filmed this was a beautiful day out, the Fountaindale was a great place to base ourselves and to travel around Lincolnshire.
I will certainly tell all my friends and family about this hidden treasure of a place.

4 star luxury accommodation. My wife and I booked into the Fountaindale after seeing its website, we booked online, it was everything it advertised.
From the moment you arrived you felt welcomed. The room we had was a double with a beautiful en-suite.
The breakfasts were plentiful and you had a lot of choice, we opted to take evening meals as Skegness is known to be full of chip shops. We were certainly glad we did, all the food was cooked by the owners Tracy and Martin and delish it was to. Soups were a meal in their own rights.

Advice: Skegness is a family resort not for stag parties, and so clean.
