Over zealous gate staff from A TripAdvisor Member
Returned yesterday from a weeks holiday in Antibes. After a nightmare booking through lastminute.com and French Life, we did eventually get there. For the price we paid we weren't expecting the Ritz, but the accomodation was OK for four friends sharing and the location really suited us with the beach and the station nearby. I wouldn't say it was suitable for those who like total quiet to sleep at night, with Antibesland over the road you could hear screaming into the early hours and with the homes so close together you can hear everything from next door and behind you, especially in the summer with the windows open. They do have a total no-noise policy after midnight, but it's not practical or enforceable. We did have one glitch in our stay, we accidentally drove the wrong way down one of the lanes to the main gate (at 5mph) one evening. The rude gate man leapt out of his seat wagging his finger at us and told us to reverse back round the corner and go around again the right way!! This incident was made more dangerous as the sun was setting and we could hardly see out the back window - its a wonder we didn't bump some pedestrians out the way. On the whole though a nice place to go to experience the South of France without the usual South of France prices.
Comfort, Freedom and Beautiful from Shornoff
Camping du Pylone is a campsite but better than a hotel. No noisy, nosy or painful neighbours in the next room. Free parking, come and go as you please. Walk by the river, water my flowers (please) and feed the ducks! Eat when you want at the on site restaurant, which is excellent, cook for yourself or go out to eat.
