Carlton Hotel

What a great holiday.
The food was some of the best I have ever had, hot, varied and more available if required.
The staff were so friendly, they remembered your name and addressed you as such. Always polite and courteous.
Our room with a balcony seaview was clean, well maintained with an amazing view.
From start to finish this holiday was great and I have already booked for 2008 and told my friends and family to do the same.

Agree with other reviews. Terrible hotel.
Avoid at all costs - staff unfriendly, management non existent, and rooms terrible.
Much better choices out there!

Me and my family have just returned from our holiday, we were supposed to have stayed at the Carlton Hotel in Sandown for 2 nights but had to make alternative arrangements.
The toilets were not functioning properly, the lock on my room door would not lock, my son had to use our shower as the one in his room was not working. No flexibility was shown to accommodate our needs, we could not even sit as a family in the dining area which was also understaffed. The portions of food were poor.
The attitude of the management and most of the staff in dealing with these problems was below standard and very unprofessional. Foul language was used in front of our children by the barman who showed no regret in his actions.
Apart from two of the guys that greeted us on our arrival, every one else including the management came across as being uneducated and under trained.
We talked to other visitors and found we were not the only ones who were not satisfied with the service they were receiving.
We would never recommend the Carlton Hotel to anyone.

We have been going to The Carlton Hotel, Sandown for two weeks in June for the past 2 years.
We cannot fault this hotel. The staff are friendly and polite and nothing is too much trouble. Our room is always clean and tidy and serviced daily. The meals are very good with a choice for every meal and extra portions available on request.
This hotel is modern and clean looking, with spectacular views of the sea.
I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to all of my friends as the service we receive is second to none.
