Great hotel & lovely family

My wife & i have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Fortin. this hotel is a charming "small & friendly" style. spotlessly clean, lovely friendly family run.after a day you feel part of the family.
when we arrived we were shown 3 rooms to choose from.( never happened before in 30 yrs of travel ) laundry changed daily. hot water at all times. buffet style breakfast is continental, bread, butter, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, honey, jams, boiled eggs, biscuits, tea, coffee, & a toaster. just help yourself to as much as you like. Efes beer, drinks & snacks, just the same prices as in town.mugs of English tea too! as for not being allowed to take food & drink in to the hotel, this is much the norm in most countries now, anyway, i think it's only right to buy your drinks & snacks from the hotel, you can still take them to your room as we did.
i can reccomend the Fortin to anyone wanting to try a holiday in a true Turkish family run hotel, where nothing is too much trouble. free wifi too.
we will be returning next year.
Steve & Elaine, room 27. Sept 10-17th.

Situated in a "true" Turkish area, but near enough to the tourist bars, shops and restaurants. The Fortin family are superb. Very Helpfull and very friendly. Not just a room number here, a first name one to one guest. Just got back from a 2 week stay and would definitely go back again. Cannot fault this hotel and would recommend it. Thanks to everyone for a really good holiday.

great hotel everyone staff and guests all made you welcome, basic room but kept very clean, snax at the bar all freshly made to order very cheap.this hotel only earns £3.00 per person per day so that is why i bought most of my food all beer, juice and water from them to give them support.tour operator made a boob and never had our name down on the transport back to airport so the rep would not let us on the bus unless we paid her £50.00,this we found shocking,so mr fortin {the owner} kindly took us to the airport at a much smaller cost,i and my wife couldnt thank him enough, you are all well looked after from this lovely family.its a must go.

Holiday with a Turkish family

Having had numerous holidays in Turkey over the last 20 years,This year was memorable.
First impression,Location average,Exterior nice to look at.Rooms adequate, clean & tidy.Welcome from staff first rate. You are made aware of their terms straight away just as you would expect. It seems stange to be told,"No food or drink" to be brought into the hotel but within a day,We realised it was sensible,
Water, Drink & food are just as cheap as local places. So why not give them the business. They nare giving you the service & with a smile.
The Fortin family, from grand parents to to grandchildren make you feel at home,They will tell you the best way to enjoy their city. What more could you want.
The rooms are cleaned daily & given fresh laundry,It seems to me that anyone who complains about the Fortins standards have few if any of thier own.
We would definately return.

this hotel is a gem!

the hotel is based so that most of Kusadasi is within walking distance with the bus station just around the corner. This area of the town is slightly cheaper and less touristy- try kents restaurant just around the corner- the most amazing adana kebab! The rooms are basic but with everything you could need and the place is absolutely spotless with a daily maid service and clean towels everyday. The pool area is a sun trap with a shaded area on the terrace and seating amongst the garden area. Breakfast is ample and the terrace serves snacks with the most amazing sandwiches you have ever seen!
What made this holiday for us is the Fortin family. They were warm, friendly, welcoming and helpful. They took time out and nothing was a bother. The larger hotels may offer more stars but the service we have received has been top notch and a very personal service. We feel we have made real family friends with the Fortin family. We cant wait to go back!

a friend and i stayed in the fortin last summer for 2 weeks..at the ages of 25 and 30, it was like been a teenager all over again, sneaking in and out and night, as the family who ran the hotel looked down on us, and would meet us at the entrance with the key, so we would not have to go into the reception. we were giving out to on 3 occasions for having the air con on too long, and a knocked over ashtray on the patio. the rooms were tiny, just fittin two single beds. the bathroom was also very small, and didnt always have warm water..as it solar panelled. Breakfast was bread, and maybe tomatoes and cheese. They were very strict on what we brought into our room, even bottles of water was frowned upon if not bought from their overpriced snack bar. The staff were not very friendly, the two brithers even had a fight in front of guests ending in ashtrays been thrown. we are going back to kusadasi this year, as its a great resort, but will be stayin well away from the fortin.

This is a simple no frills hotel with the personal touch offering great value for money. There was always someone around for advice about what to do, where to go and how to get there. Kusadasi is an interesting place made more so by the local knowledge shared with us by the family who ran the hotel. Staying at the Fortin meant that we enjoyed our holiday much more than if we had stayed at a bigger hotel with a higher star rating. Alongside the help and friendliness, the hotel is well situated for the town centre and harbour and very near the place for catching the mini buses (dolmus) to Ephesus or to any of the many beaches.

A true taste of real Turkish hospitality

My wife and I have just returned from this hotel. We had not been to Turkey for some time and wanted somewhere which would bring back the memories we of Turkish hospitality. We could not have chosen better. The hotel is basic but is ideally situated to give you a real taste of Turkey. The family who run the hotel are excellent hosts, especially the two older sons’, Akman and Orhan. They looked after us and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was traditional Turkish, bread, fruit, eggs and always lovely and fresh. The hotel is situated in the middle of a residential area, next to the Wed and Fri markets, and the local Mosque so expect a little noise, but we found that this just added to the whole experience. We will certainly return to this hotel in the future.

small Traditional hotel with Big Heart

The FORTIN is a small, traditional, family-run hotel with very clean,if basic rooms,an outdoor sun-terrace for breakfast and snacks, small swimming-pool with a pleasant unique Italian-style entrance. The owners are a very warm-hearted,caring family who do everything they can to make their quests welcome.I can highly recommend this `villa fortin` to those who are looking for a REAL touch and taste of Turkish hospitality. It is centrally located in the town with Dolmus Station and Coach Station just a street away.Dolmus to sea front/harbour and Ladies beach are at end of street.Markets-Wed and Fri-are in the adjoining streets.A real touch of the REAL Turkey which is what this hotel is all about. A small TRADITIONAL hotel with a BIG heart.

Hotel Villa Fortin

Rooms are very basic, but spotlessly clean, and the shower and toilet functioned faultlessly, as did the aircon,
which was an extra £25 but worth every penny.
The pool was kept in excellent condition.
Breakfast was Turkish, help yourself style & plenty of it.
The charges for drinks were about the same as in local
bars & restaurants. Cannot comment on other food available
because we ate elsewhere, but we saw other guests eating
there & the food appeared to be very good.
Where this Hotel really scores is the staff!! it may be
one star, but the owners and their employees are five star
We were treated with the utmost courtesy, and the service
they provided was nothing short of brilliant!!

we went to stay at the fortin hotel at the end of august, and what a pleasant surprise it was, a lovely family run hotel, exceptionally clean and well looked after, the service we received was second to none, the family will go out of their way to help you with anything you ask of them, they were also very entertaining. We ate and drank there on numerous occasions, good quality at resonable prices compared to other hotels that we have stayed in. Very good value for the price we paid for this holiday. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to kusadasi.
