Positive - Great apartment complex. Very clean and well maintained. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Bedroom was particularly large with lots of storage space. Apartments were set around 2 pool areas, each almost identical and each providing a main pool and a children’s pool. On-site supermarket, cafe and restaurant bars, plus Internet facilities next to pool. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Negative - May have been a little too far out of resort centre for some, but compensated by lack of noise. Major invasion of ants even though we were on the second floor.

About 5 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes to the centre these apartments are in a good position for the resort. The apartments are clean and well equipped and there are nice swimming pools on site.
The only drawback is that it is a large complex and our apartment was a 4-minute walk to reception and exit. Playa Blanca has a great choice of restaurants and found El Marisco, Romantica and Jasmines Chinese to be excellent.
Avoid Casa Pedro on the seafront where booking means nothing still had to wait 25 minutes for a table. No apology or free drink given whilst waiting.

Sun Royal apartments are clean middle range( both price and quality) accommodation 5 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the centre of Playa Blanca. A good pool and helpful staff at reception. The bar is very ordinary and could do with tarting up a little. There is food available but not up to much, best to eat in one of the many restaurants in town.
We liked Casa Jose in the square, La Cuadra(in shopping precinct):El Marisco(main street next to chemist) and La Bochina(opposite main bus stop to Arrecife). Molly’s Irish bar good for low-key live entertainment and Nags Head for a quiet drink in a traditional English Pub.

Arrived with wife and two children sometime around 11-1130pm. One member of staff on duty with little English, appeared surprised that people had arrived. Given key and map to room. Map a bit confusing and took a wrong turn but got to room eventually. In middle of unpacking and then a power failure that lasted about 1hr, ended up sitting in bar until back on, happened following week also.
This apart it was a good holiday, staff friendly but English not so good especially reception staff. Bar and restaurant staff fine.
Weather great and breeze was just nice when lounging about. Only disappointment was people 'claiming' sun loungers, sometimes putting towels on at 0530am and you never seen them until afternoon. Got into the habit myself but never before 8am. If you find yourself having to do this just take a walk around the ground floor rooms and you will find plenty, as they should not have them, did this a few times thus did not have to get up early.
Never ate in hotel apart from the odd lunch which was fine, out every night to various eating places, some better that others but overall food was great especially the Jasmine Chinese, exit hotel go right to bottom of Rd and go right 5 minute walk, other eateries there also which were good.
If needing to phone home get a phone card, well worth the money.
