Submitted By: Miss J ChapmanThe rooms were spotless, we were overlooking the pool (as requested when booking).
The Kids club reps were excellent, my daughter went to them all! 6 days a week, 10 til 12 and 4 evenings 7 til 9. They had different themes every day, and she won loads of prizes. Thnaks again to crazy karen, nic nac, jazzy jade, loopy lainey, yummy yasmin and all the other girls.
Dan the man and rave on racheal were also great, they have more energy then my 4 year old. Dan the man broke his foot while we were there, but still carried on entertaining everyone!
Beach was lovely, although quite small, but never seemed over crowded.
The best place to eat was The Anvil, in Irish bar, about 5 min walk from hotel. They do the best breakfast and the food is excellent, and very reasonable. Great service every time.
Dont expect a sleep in though, as there is a Q from 8.30 for the sunbeds!!! That was the only down side, but you get this were ever you go!
Would recommend this holiday for anyone with kids, entertainment is non stop!
Cant wait to go back, Thomson the Dog, keep up the good work!

Submitted By: Mrs C CottinghamThe beach was a little dissapointing, not the long golden sand I was expecting, infact, it was rather dirty with rubbish and cigerette ends on it.
Overall, a very good time was had by all. If we hadn't been going with children it is not a place we would have chosen but having been, we would definately return; with or without childeren

Submitted By: Mrs A MoseleyWe have travelled many times with Thompson and have always been able to rely on their ratings, but not this time. Our Rep offered no real help when we told her we were unhappy so rather than waste any more time in a crummy hotel we just moved ourselves. It seems to us that nowadays with Thomson a 3T may be the new 4T so be warned. We're off again to Majorca shortly, but not with Thompson - this time we're travelling independently.

Submitted By: Miss C MallonThere is a T.V in the lounge. The bedroom is nice and big with plenty of storage space and plug points! I was surprised that we were provided with a fan, as previously I have had to pay for one of these. there is also a ceiling fan in the room. The only down side would be that there are 2 single beds instead of a double but this is not a huge problem!
We had a large balcony with patio furniture, including 3 sun loungers. We were on the 2nd floor and had the most fantastic view over the sea.
We had maid service 5 days out of the 7 and the towels were changed each time, as well as some washing up!!
The beach is about 2 minutes away and although there are quite a few rocks there are areas with golden sand. There are 2 pools, one where all the activities take place and an other lovely quiet one, although the water was freezing!
The resort itself is beautiful and clean. within 2 minute walk you have 3 supermarkets, a pizzeria, steak house and chinese restaurant. we tried the steakhouse and chinese and they were both great. the walk into the resort centre takes about 15 minutes, but it is a lovely walk along a seafront promenade.
I honestly cannot recommend this resort enough, and the apartments are one of the best that I have stayed in. We would definately return here.

Submitted By: Mrs A RoachThe entertainers work very hard all day and manage to create a really good-fun family atmosphere around the pool in the day time, as well as during the kids' disco in the evening. Dan "the Man" is a really good entertainer, he gets all the family involved and is good with the kids.
Our daughter went to the childrens clubs quite a few times and always wanted to go back for more. They also do evening clubs a few nights a week for a few euros which allow you a couple of hours for a meal out in peace.
There are five or six restaurants right next to the hotel, the food varies in quality, our favourite was the pizza restaurant which is hidden behind the supermarket. They do good takeaways too.
The beach next to the hotel is great for children, although most of it is very rocky there is a good area of golden sand on each side of the cove, plenty for playing and sunbathing.
We upgraded to all inclusive for the last part of the holiday as the drinks we costing us a fortune (and we don't drink that much!). This was a good deal as it's 32 euros for adults per day and at the moment one child goes free for each paying adult - MUCH cheaper than the brochure price. The hotel restaurant was fairly good, although the food seems to go cold unless you get there fairly quickly.
All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable family holiday and I would certainly recommend it.

Submitted By: Mrs J GOn arrival with a 1 yr old and a 4yr old our room was not ready for several hours and when it was ready there was no cot. The cot that was brought was broken. It had several missing and broken bars on one side. The replacement cot then took a couple more hours to arrive. The balcony was not enclosed so we were unable to let our children play on it. The equipment in that playground is only suitable for 4years plus.
While we were on holiday the clocks went forward, this affected flight and coach pick up times unfortunately the coach pick up times were not altered on the board or Thomson book. This resulted in everyone from our hotel (6 adults 4 children) missing the coach pick up. The coach had not enquired at reception as to where we were. Thomson said they would refund the taxi to the airport on our return to the UK. I wrote to Thomson including my taxi receipt and a copy of the incorrect coach pick up times off the notice board in our hotel. Thomson has not refunded the money saying that the times had been altered by the rep 2 nights before our flight. This is basically a complete lie and I although I appreciate their staff loyalty I think 6 adult holiday makers versus 1 rep should make a point.
This is the first and last time I ever travel with Thomson on holiday and I would advise others not to use them.

Submitted By: Other Mr&Mrs DoyleWe aways hire a car for the full duration of our holiday this time being 7days (Jan30th-Feb6th) we got a map from the Thompson reps at the Airport who showed us the right direction to Playa Blanca, and where we would find Playa Flamingo, Now when it comes to driving abroad it's always me who drives, the wife not that keen really, and i'm what i say a very confident driver, but Chuff Me could i get out of the Airport!!!!! No i could not, and its only a small airport. I nearly ended up in a military air base right next to the airport, to this day i could not tell you how i eventually got out, I followed the 'Salida' (Exit) signs and ended up where i started!!! unbelievable. But once you get out onto to the open road its a lovely drive down to Playa Blanca.
Lanzarote as an Ilsland i found to be very pretty, very scenic. It wont be to everyones taste because it is fairly baron not very green at all, but it is still fantastic scenery quite breathtaking at times. Especially if you drive or take a trip up to Timanfaya national park.
Before we went to Lanzarote some friends of ours told us to go to the north of the Island right to the top because its alot greener there and one of the best Tourist sites is there called Jameos Del Agua, something to do with caves and water but we never got there. We didn't have enough time there is loads to do on the Island.
So when we made it down to Playa Blanca the first thing that you notice like the rest of the Island is NO HIGH RISE!! so instead of building up they build outwards so the complex's are spread over a larger area, Playa Flamingo is a couple of minutes drive from the centre of Playa Blanca so i guess around 15-20 mins walk, I always drive so never did the walk. ;)
The Hotel far exceded our expectations we absolutely loved it.
Right from walking into the reception area and being welcomed with a nice hello and a friendly smile at check-in.
We had apartment 40A which we found to be spotlessly clean and i mean it, really clean fresh smell, excellent facilities: Microwave(cupboard under hob), 2 ring Electric Hob, Kettle, CoffeeMaker, Toaster!!!!! Great size Fridge-Freezer. And the View....What a view we had!!! looking right over the sea across to Corallejo. So Nice!
Bathroom was excellent with a full sized bath and a good well pressured shower, and once again spotlessly clean.
Bedroom was good too, with lots of hanging space in the wardrobe with drawers built in, full length mirror, extra drawers, bedside tables with lamps, 2twin beds pushed together that we found to be very comfortable also there was a hair dryer too, but not as good as the one you managed to cram into your suitcase!
So once settled in its time for some food and a beer. Playa Flamingo is set literally right on 2 small beaches and from our apartment we could be on the Promenade in less than 60secs. No crossing any roads or anything like that, it was superb.
There are maybe 10 or so Snack bars/Restaurant's in this area right in front of the complex and right on the sea! So when your eating or having a beer the only thing between you and the sea is the lovely Promenade. You might think you have to pay a premium for such a setting as this, but no! How about all you can eat Breakfast at the Beach Club restaurant for 7Euros... and for that you get freshly made pancakes or omellettes as much tea or coffee fresh fruit bacon sausages(them little ones) scrambled eggs fresh fried tomatoes fresh bread butter jam/mamalade Cereals:Sugarpuffs cornflakes museli fuit juices yoghurts, as you like!!! all good stuff too delicious,
We ate there once for a evening meal too it was quite late about 10ish but it was no problem, so friendly great service.
The centre of Playa Blanca is not far from the Flamingo and here is where there is more choice of Restaurants. Again the setting of these Is the same as the ones mentioned above, right on the sea front on the Promenade.
You will not get a bad meal in any of the restaurants and they will only try and welcome you into there establishment if your looking at the menu no hassle just friendly.
Even though we're both young i'm 30 wife is 27 we didn't go on a largin' it holiday, we went to relax and it was perfect.
But if you did want some late night partying you can still do that, its just only a few Bars that do open till morning and not whole 'Bar Streets' like you find in other resorts.
If you like Singing/Karaoke like me i can recommend Rooftops at the harbour where the ferry goes to Fuerteventura, Massive songbook and a really good system, the owner is called Richard a really nice guy. they open till about 4am.
The Entertainment at Playa Flamingo in the Blue Moon Club was i can only describe as Top Notch, excellent. The time of year that we went was it seems a quiet one for English people, we went before half term so there was very few English families, but it seems it was the busiest time of year for our Scandinavian friends, So the Entertainment was done by a group From Sweden and Norway and Finland i think. From the other reviews it seems this changes to English Entertainment in the summer but whatever they were fantastic, All the songs were in English anyway bar a few but i'm all for a bit of culture, and the standard of Singing and Dancing and Performance was first rate, and we told them so. One niggle is that it started at 9.15 and it was done and finished by 10.15, although some nights Andreas would Sing and play the Piano for a while longer, he was ace! They put on a few tribute nights one being like a tribute to dance musicals Grease Fame Dirty Dancing etc, and one was a Eurovision night with points be given to the best country.... all the scandinavian countries voted for each other! lol.
Before i finish my review i must recommend the Italian Ice Cream Parlour in Playa Blanca Town, its on the right just up from the Taxi Rank by the way all the taxi's in Playa Blanca are Red upto the doors then silver door pillars and roofs, look very snazzy! back to the ice cream: cant remember what its called but the ice cream and coffee are Bellisimo! quite pricey but well worth it if you skip desert at your evening meal, have a stroll on the prom and head for coffee and ice cream. :)
Just a word of warning about the ferry crossing to Corallejo: we wanted to go across thought it would have been nice, bear in mind its a 12min crossing and it'll cost you 67euros for 2 adults return. Hence we stayed on dry land. Shame.
We will certainly be back in Playa Blanca as soon as we can. We travelled to all the other resorts on the Island and would only ever be happy with Playa Blanca,
Peurto del Carmen is Horrible unless you want to shop, there is a Bershka there which we loved.
All in all an excellent time was had in Lanzarote and we cant wait to return.
Hopefully to the Playa Flamingo.

Submitted By: Mrs Da O'CallaghanWe spent two wonderful weeks there doing nothing but go to the beach, go to the pool and eat food. Even though it is a family hotel we felt very happy there.
We went to Titti Trollops one evening it was a truly wonderful show, we did not stop laughing well recommended.
Even though it was sept/oct the weather was really hot bout 28 every day. We have come back really relaxed we will be going again one day soon, fab fab fab.

Submitted By: Miss H FlowerWe found the staff very polite and friendly especially the maid service; we went on a couple of trips whilst we were over there; the yellow submarine sticking in my head.
We hired a car from our Thomson rep who did everything in her capabilities to help us. An experience well worth doing, after the fear of driving through moon like land has gone, you really do see all aspects of the island
With eating out every night we visited some of the restaurants that were close to the apartments, the Chinese being the best one, but we also decided to take a walk down the prom to the main resort were we found some excellent dining.
This being our first holiday abroad together I could not have asked for things to have been more perfect, will definitely go back there, we both came home relaxed and ready to take on the world again
