Platja Park Hotel Reviews
" Enjoyable holiday!!!! "
Submitted By: Rebecca042
I've just got back from The Platja Park Hotel, Playa D'Aro and felt i should write a review as when I looked on here there weren't many. I travelled with my Partner and my two kids, a little girl one and a half and a little boy 6. We also went with our friends who have got two little boys 2 and 6. Our rooms we were given were facing the back of the hotel so we asked and were immediately moved to rooms with pool views, no problem. The rooms could do with a lick of paint but were very clean and the maid service was brilliant. The downstairs of the Hotel was lovely and the pool area very nice. It was quiet for the first 5 days we were there so being served with drinks etc was no problem and we found the staff very polite and helpful. The last two days the hotel filled to bursting with Spanish tourists who were quite ignorant and rude and demanded they were served first at the bar. The staff became very stressed and miserable looking. The food for what we paid was excellent but I would class it as 3 not 4 star. The worst part of the whole holiday was the Restaurant manager who was so RUDE and AWFUL and treat us and our kids like dirt. He gave us dirty looks all the time then shook hands and spoke to all the Spanish. Our kids spilt a drink and you would have thought they commited murder!!!! He even put us out on a limb away from everyone else and we had to sit there all week!!!
Apart from him we had a brilliant week and saw no rats apart from a big one in the retaurant - oh no, sorry that was him again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Advice: It is very expensive in all areas but has beautiful beaches and views!
Activities: The Friends Bar on the sea front - lovely place, lovely staff :-)

" Must disagree with other reviewer. I... "

Must disagree with other reviewer. I was here as a single traveler. Staff were very helpful, room cleaned daily. Shampoo dispenser ran out and was not refilled until 4pm. Hardly a major complaint. Restaurant was buffet style but staff were great, clearing table and checking everything was OK. Yes as an all inclusive customer I had to go to the bar for drinks and take them into the restaurant. One step hardly counts as upstairs! Wide variety of foods available including grill with freshly cooked chops/steaks. It is Spain and not many Brits there so no burgers/sausage/pizza but pasta and chips available every meal. I agree there is no entertainment but I did not expect any - it was not mentioned in the hotel review!
For anybody wanting a relaxing traditional beach resort I thought this hotel was fantastic value.
If you do take a bus to Gerona check carefully. They leave approximately every hour but one takes 90 minutes and the next only takes 45 minutes and is cheaper.

Just returned from platja park hotel in platja d aro,,,and im sorry to say it was our worst holidday.theres to many faults to write so i will keep it short.Family holiday wife to young children. The first room was looking straight out to a dumpsite directly onto hotel was told we could move rooms the next day why not then we had just arrived ?.We was also adv the hotel had satelite tv thats correct but not in English.French, German ,Spanish and other european languages not british asked reception they werent interested, there was lots of complaints about food attitudes of staff while serving all inclusive customers they dont cater for vegetarians no matter what they advertise.no entertainment all week. All inclusive customers beware dinners 8.00 till 10.30the bar where you get drinks closes downstairs you and only all inclusive have to go out dining hall past reception upstairs to get drinks ,,,,,unbelievable.even if bar is open you still have to go out to get drinks while rest of hotel sit and laugh while there getting served at there tables it begs belief foods 3 star at best its not 4 star food trust me.NOTHING for children ours were totaly bored throughout. If you want a great holiday this is not the place do some homework i wish i had.ps was only one other couple from Britain the rest was Spanish and they come first at this hotel

the beach was clean and every 100 yards it had a peice of art or optical illusion or interactive sculpture to keep it fun, although the sand is not real it is as good as, not the shell beach we were expecting. i speak a little spainish and you will need it if you want to get the most of the place...even small phrase book will work, but dont expect it to be the uk......its not....but it is amazing!
Advice: tired of the run of the mill tourest towns but love spain? come here
