Andromeda Villas

I hated this hotel!! The service was horrible. Their staff was literally made up of 5 people. There was one restaurant and the food was not good at all. The rooms were okay, but nothing special. We did not have a private balcony, it was shared with another room and that was very annoying. There were so many stairs that you have to walk up/down to get to your room. Hotel rooms were very spacious with beautiful views but alot of stairs to get from the road to the reception. The staff was very unaccomodating and very rude when we tried to ask them questions and get cabs into fira. Definitly need to either rent a car or take cabs into Fira, a long walk. Our room had no phone which didnt seem very safe. The cords in the wall were coming out.

If you stay at Andromeda Villas, be sure to ask for a private balcony. When we stayed there last summer, we were given a balcony in front of our apartment that was shared with another apartment. This meant that we never used it. Even if the other family wasn't sitting there, it just didn't feel private. Overall the location is very attractive. Our apartment was essentially a cave in the cliffside - not bad, once you get used to it. The walk to town was a little far but doable.

Breathtaking view. Very comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Lots of stairs - not suitable for elderly or infirm. Lovely pool deck and pool. Long walk along the coast into Fira. Rent a vehicle to get around.

I am trying to get helped from these revies in tripadvisor, but it is rather difficult to match some people's taste. It is very subjective. We must admit that Santorini is a unique place on earth and therefore we can understand that people there take advantage of it and charge you a fortune for this Caldera View. It is magnificent, breath taking and maybe that is why they don't pay that attention to rooms inside. We stayed in the upper block, which was about 100 steps away from pool and bar. Andromeda has what all good hotels of Santorini's caldera have: an incredible view; a nice maze of stairs up and down the cliff between the appartments, the pool, the restaurant, the lounge areas; nice cycladic architecture. And the staff is friendly enough. But the prices are too high for the quality of the rooms. We were given a small room 109, with a supposedly equipped kitchenette; but without anything to heat, so this is really an illusion of a kitchenette. We booked our trip through a well-known Greek travel agency about 6 months in advance. We chose Andromeda Villas because we wanted a luxurious hotel to relax on the beautiful island of Santorini. This hotel was more than we had hoped and imagined The service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and the views were breathtaking. We didn't want to leave the hotel. My family (husband and sons ages 11 & 15) just spent 4 days at the Andromeda Villas in Imervogli/Santorini (July 4 - 7, 2006). We had a wonderful time. The location is perfect imho. You are close enought to walk into Firostefani or Fira (although remember that walking there is downhill and coming back is uphill) It takes about 15 minutes to get to Firostefani and perhaps another 5-7 minutes to get to Fira on the cliff path. Andromeda Villas was absolutely perfect. Initially we had booked another hotel over the internet but were told upon arrival that that hotel was booked up, and that we would be transferred to Andromeda with an upgrade to a junior suite. We weren't so sure about this at first, but Andromeda turned out to be a dream... our room had a jacuzzi and a private terrace, and we spent most of our time lounging by the pool which had the most beautiful views over the caldera. My husband and my two daughters (aged 8 & 5 yrs) have just come back from stunning Santorini. I had trawled for hours through the internet looking for suitable accomodation for us and had booked up Andromeda Villas.
