I booked for one night only, to be close to the airport, but could have stayed longer. I arrived late and very tired, first thing I was offered was a drink and a huge warm welcome from Niko's, The hotel is family run and the family are the most exceptional hosts, from mum and dad and the 3 brothers. My room was clean and had everything I needed. The swimming pool was lovely and very clean, the grounds were great and relaxing, for children there was a small pool and lots of outdoor play equipment. Inside is very spacious and modern but combined with very interesting displays of old artifacts displaying Greek history and culture. My purpose was just to have somewhere close to airport, what I did not expect was the hospitality I received. and the totally chilled out feeling Food was brilliant - Thank you George. I was really tired first night and most probably did not appreciate the food as well. Next day after a relaxing night (no plane noises) I did, breakfast was good and plenty of it, nice that there was mugs, for my tea. At lunch I had the best Mousakka I have ever tasted, all cooked with local produce. What more could I say about this hotel, except wish I had longer to stay, but I will be back and hope all goes well with Cici puppies. I would highly recommend this hotel, it is not 5 star, but you do not pay 5 star prices. I have travelled extensively over the last 30 years in Greece, islands as well as mainland and this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in. Thank you Mama and Papa, George, Nikos and Stavros, hope all goes well for you. xxxxxxxxxx
- Advice: I would stay here at end of backpacking or before or if longer hire a car and have a relaxing place to come back to and eat great food. Great place and great people

We were looking for a last minute relaxing, quiet break and the reviews we read about the Rhodian Sun impressed us. We were welcomed very warmly by Nicholas the Manager with a drink, then we were shown to our room which was very clean and comfortable. (We were very impressed when the bedding was changed every second day and towels daily, and the room cleaned). The family who run the hotel were so friendly and helpful and the evening meals were excellent. We were asked what type of food we would like in the evenings and Tsambika did not disappoint with her traditional greek fayre. One evening I was unable to eat due too to much sun but she brought a plate of food and a drink up to our room just to make sure that I ate something. Their concern was genuine and very heartwarming. Any question or request was dealt with immediately, including travel, where to go to get the best deals etc etc. The family also transported us on ocassion to Rhodes town and also to local venues to purchase presents etc.
The pool and surrounding gardens was lovely and clean and the pleasure of swimming in the pool knowing that it was cleaned daily was great.
We have only good memories of our stay at the Rhodian Sun and have already told everyone we know that the standard of care and service from the whole family during our stay was wonderful and we would definately stay there again.

Before we booked this place we read some really nice reviews and some really bad ones but we thought we should try it for our selves. So we just came back from Rhodes and we must say that it was a relaxing last minute get away. We booked this place through Expedia.com and because the flight was delayed, we arrived at the airport just after 03:20am and as we agreed, there was someone there waiting to pick us up as they offer free transfer from and to the airport (we requested it directly with the hotel). We then got a welcome drink at the bar (at four in the morning!)and got our bags carried up to the room. Nicholas was kind enough to show us how to use the air condition and went through the English channels on the TV in the room.
Just after breakfast (basic continental) we got all the information we needed about the island and got the bus to Rhodes town which run aprox. twice an hour. It took us about half an hour to get there which wasn't that bad.
Later that the evening we returned back to the hotel and spent it all at the swimming pool which by the way looked nice and clean (we saw them cleaning it every day and the chemical levels were hardly noticeable). The pool area and the garden were kept in good condition and the surroundings were quiet. Really not a place for youngsters looking for a lively holiday but suited us all right.
Rooms were good sized and clean and the free Wi-fi came in handy. You might find it difficult though to ask the maid anything because she speaks nothing but Greek.
We never had Greek food before and we were a little cautious cause we didn't know what to expect but Tsampika cooked us dinner in the restaurant every night and it tasted delicious. We would definitely recommend the mousaka and the tzatziki!
In general lines, the family that run the place, offered us everything they promised with a smile and we enjoyed it all at fairly prices.
We will be going back again next year and we would recommend it as a quiet, relaxing spot.

At the end of July 2010 my late husband and myself spent two nights at this hotel on the way home from a stay on Karpathos. We were met at the airport and transported back to the airport at the end of our stay. The family were really friendly, the pool lovely, but the garden, garden furniture and hotel in general was very tired/shabby looking, such a pity. The breakfast was basic, but filled a hole. The bedroom was clean, the balcony very narrow, bathroom really tired/dated looking (basic). In one corner of the reception area they have made it into a museum and there is a smell of mustiness about the place. Would use it as a stop over again, but not for any longer. Too far from restaurants/bars - there is a bus stop at the end of the road. The front of the hotel also has a side view of a factory. I'm sure in it's hey day, this was a really lovely hotel.
- Advice: tired/dated hotel, OK for a stop over

The Rhodian Sun is a great little Hotel . The family will do all they can to make your stay a good one . They are constantly improving the accommadation which is to be fare basic , but clean . You need a car if you really want to see the Island its the best way to see it cheep too . Busses are not good out of Rhodes town and tend to turn up when they like , but we put that down to the Greek sence of urgency . Local Resturants are affordable and the portions are good . We will definatly be going back .

We have just returned from our weeks holiday and we throughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The family that run this hotel went more than an extra mile. They are so friendly and helpful and treat you as if your part of their family.
The hotel is located about 15mins away from the airport. They collected us from the airport and took us back. (we booked directly with the hotel).
The closet town is Tholos and is amount a 20 mins walk but 5 euros in a taxi.
If your going to Rhodes town you are about 20 euros each way. The food at the hotel is good. The breakfast is continental. You choose what you want for lunch (that is if you book all inclusive) the evening meal is a buffet salad and soup and they bring the main course to you. We would defo recommend this hotel. Excellent value for money.

I really had a great time at the Rhodian Sun Hotel, The stuff was great, I was surprised by the hospitality they offered me, which makes you feel part of the family. My room was very clean. The food was fantastic, everything was fresh, what else you need? I really enjoyed the time I spent by the pool and Nicko's frozen fruit cocktails :) . The free airport transfer they provided was really helpful and were on time. This is an ideal hotel for those who like peaceful and quite area . Value for money is superb (I travel all over Greece for the last 8 years, so I know a lot about Greek hotels). Rhodian Sun is a hotel I recommend to all kind of travelers. Thank you guys for everything. You will definitely see me with my friends next year
