Staff very friendly without exception, Gianni is very entertaining in the pool bar. Rooms clean are a good size so as not to be overcrowded even with 4 persons, two young teenagers. The rooms have air conditioning which is free and great during heat of summer. No safety deposit boxes in rooms which was a disappointment although a drawer is avaiable for rental at reception. Pool area is lovely with plenty of beds for guests and also any drop in visitors. the only problem with the pool area and also for the hotel is it is below the landing path for the airport. You do however get used to this after a few days. We were suprised that the hotel is not used by many british visitors but is mainly used by dutch and itilians, not a problem for us as all friendly and most spoke very good english much better than our dutch etc.. The beach is a 5 - 10 mins walk away but is really for wind surfers and kiteboarders as it is very shaley and not pleasant to walk on. hotel is a little walk from town centre but a good restaurant is located next door if you don't want to cook. Town centre is a 10 - 15 minutes walk with mainly cheap and not tyical greek tavernas. However if you want there are british bars. Kremasti is not a pretty greek village and we were glad we hired a car to see the rest of the island. We thought best beaches were Tsambika and Pefkos. Overall enjoyed the holiday could not fault the price paid we were glad we hired a car even though car hire is expensve on Rhodes to explore the lovely beaches further afield.

Just got back for these apartments and would recommend to everybody, situated about a 25 min walk for the centre of Kremasti or in Taxi terms 3Euros to Town Centre.
Very clean, actually after visiting Greece many time this is the first time we have had our apartment cleaned every day and with fresh towels. The 2 pools were very clean no problem getting sunbeds.
We took our two sons aged 10 and 3 plenty for them both to do even though the 10 year did say I’m bored hundreds of time - but I am sure everybody who has a 10 year old knows that phase well!!! These apartments are well run and very friendly, infact we got to meet most of the workers kids who kept popping in from time to time, the food was excellent, the few times that we had a meal there.
Just a 2 minute walk is the small water park which cost 15 Euros per adult and 7.50 for a child, under 5's go free, everything included in the price, drinks (obviously not alcohol) and sandwiches. Where could you go in England a get the drinks included!! - So cheap day out for everyone.
We found a lovely bar called Tommi's bar which is run by a English family very friendly, especially Jimbo whom is a Yorkshire critter just like us.
If you go the other way there is a small town called Ilissos, good for shopping, went there a few times to visit parents, who were staying at an all Inclusive hotel. 6 Euros in Taxi.
Rhodes Harbour is gorgeous and surprisingly cheap for meals, we sat and eat a couple of times at a restaurant overlooking the harbour, ok the drinks are more expensive but the food on the hole was a lot nicer and cheaper!
Went on a boat trip, which was reasonably priced, but I would not recommend this to anyone, 2hr 40mins to get there!! Then we got 21/2 hrs on Lindo's beach (Out of this world) and definitely not long enough, then on the boat again for 3hours with a stop off to jump in the sea for 10 mins. Back to Rhodes town for 5.00 o’clock - Save yourself the trouble and just get a Taxi. Wish we had!
Did not get to Old Rhodes town but look forward to trying it next time.
Will definitely visit Rhodes again and hopefully go back to Valsami.
I found this on the internet but I think they advertise more on the Danish sight, but please do not let that put you off.
PS If travelling this time of year please take mosquito plug in and repellent - You won't regret it.

The apartments at the Valsami are very spacious and have everything you require for your stay. The balconies are big and the rooms also have air con, which is great as the heat in Rhodes can be uncomfortable at night.
The facilities are pretty good as well. The pool is big (a bit cold) and they have a kiddies pool as well. The bar area is nice, although the music is a bit bland.
The staff are very pleasant and the owner of the hotel is a happy, smiley guy.
The restaurant food is enjoyable with great local cuisine. Hotel entertainment though isn't at its best, sparse would best describe it.
The Greek night lacked atmosphere and could have done with some dancers (staff did advise though that dancers had cancelled at short notice?).
A few downsides of note. Water, it kept going off and on which made it difficult showering. We did complain but we were advised that it was due to work on the mains?
The other, planes. The hotel is on the flight path for Rhodes airport so expect low flying aircraft, very low, but you do get used to it.
The resort itself is quiet but there is a good supermarket around the corner, as well as some stunning tavernas to chose from nearby.

If you like an ok price for the family, this is the best part of staying at this hotel. The next best part is that it is ok surroundings. The hotel has one big pool, and one childrens pool. The hygiene in these pools are hard to know anything about. Anyhow it should be mandatory to have showers by the pool at any familyhotel, to shower off all the germs and clorine after a bath!!!! Valsamsis doesn't have that.
The worst part of staying at this hotel is that they take 8 (!!!!) euros pr. night for aircondition. That is BLACKMAILING. Include that when you first order aircondition, it is regulated by a relè that turns off much earlier than it should. I.E.: If you want to adjust it to 17 degrees Celsius, it turns off at about 28 degrees! Therefore, it would be much more effective to open the main door and the 2 doors to the backside, and every window in the apartment, rather than having the aircondition. The backside of this choice is off course the unrelaxed feeling of unsecurity you will get, for instance being burglared in sleep, or waking up and finding your kids are not there! You can try all three solutions: A) Close the doors and the two small windows and turn on the aircondition. You will sleep lousy that night! B) Close the doors but not the two small windows and turn on the aircondition. You sleep lousy that night as well! C) Don't rent the aircondition first, just have all doors and windows open and try not to think of being burglared or losing you kids. You sleep lousy that night anyhow!
Include the next worst thing about this hotel, the airplane noice! Some mornings about 06:30 you will wake up to airplanes seemingly landing at the roof of the building, due to the hotels location, directly beneath the airplanes approach route to the airstrip! The rest of the mornings they start landing between 07:00 and on. You will not fail to wonder, as well, when you lie there in your sunbed a couple of hours later, if or when an airplane will miss the landing strip and hit the hotel and other buildings in its path.
Other things: The cleaning staff is friendly and effective, but not thorough!
The other personell is quite service minded.
Due to the situation in Greece in July 2011, the taxi strike was not nice. If you travel back to your country by night, and you have ordered a travel voucher for taxis, you will probably run into some problems. (As we did.) When we arrived, the strike was begun, but they had set up buses (instead) to the various hotels. The night of the return, there were no buses to pick us up! We were stuck with a receptionist on duty alone, with a taxi strike and no bus. The solution to this, after some discussion with the receptionist, was that he had to drive us to the airport in his private car. This was the most impressive part, that he actually went to the neighbouring hotel and got the reseptionist there to keep an eye of both hotels, when he drove us the 5 km.'s to the aiport. That is serviceminded! He even wouldn't take money for the trip. But all in all: I will not stay at Valsamis one more time!
