"Just back from 2 weeks break. Apartment basic but very clean and tidy - just what you need for a break. Only complaint we had was one of the apartments (we were number 7) had a young gentleman occupier who would insist on belting out his music on a Friday evening and most mornings! Not great but Linda in Pool Bar just turned up her radio which played some great music. Will be back at some time but will remember to bring hair dryer and tin opener."

Aboslutly Loved it!

"Me and My boyfriend went for a week away on from the 20th july to 27th july, we read all the reviews before we booked are holiday but we decided to book even with the bad reviews, when we got there we was dreading what it was going to be like but all of these reviews are rubbish,BUT!!we would like to make it clear that: the only reason the keys were left on the reception door was because the reception has closing times and the only time they left the keys there were when the reception was closed, which is acceptable as if you had a job and you have to finish at a certain time you wouldnt wait for somebody or stay there untill early hours for one person. The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were very comfy. We had no insects in our room because they were that clean and the rooms were very secure. the kitchen has everything you need to feel at home and the pool was cleaned every morning by the pool maintenance man. the receptionist was very pleasent but the highlight of are week was the owner of the pool bar, Olga. she was very welcoming and everytime she was on the bar we made a point of going over to get to know her she is a very nice lady, me and my boyfriend decided that we wanted a tattoo whilst we was away and we had a conversation with Olga about this and she rang up her friend which is a tatto artist and we got them for a very resonable prices, she also sorted out our transport which we were very greatful. the food from the pool bar was very very nice and a good size for what you order and the price you pay. Olga also recommened a chinese resturaunt that was just down the road and it was very cheap and absolutly gorgeous!!. we didnt see the managers whilst we was there but if we needed to know anything Olga was very happy to help. we was there for one week and the cleaners came twice but they only needed to come once as they did a very good job and they were pleasent enough compaired to other cleaners at other hotels.the other people that were staying at the hotel were very welcoming and we could had a conversation with anybody there as they were very down to earth. we just wanted to but our point across that we are both young and we loved it and we will defiantly be returning thanks to Olga making are stay so enjoyable and we loved it, Thank you!!!

Not Safe !!!!!

"Had a week here reception never open when you arrive Keys are in envelope stuck to the door with your name apt no and a map to show you how to get apt, There is a shopp 500yds away that cuts keys. We had our apt broke into while we was in mobile phones and sunglasses stolen.

These apts have no security what so ever and the pool areas are open to public, they also fail to tell you that this complex is part residential there are four entrances all un gated groups of young spanish sitting round pool smoking drugs have never felt so unsafe in all my life.

The only good point that this place has is the lovely helpful irish girls in the pool bar.

This complex should be renamed losey more the amount of break ins they have had.

Never saw a rep at all and rooms were never cleaned or towels changed the whole week we were there.

My Boyfriend and i got a last minute...

"My Boyfriend and i got a last minute deal with 18-30. The apartments were clean and basic but for the money we paid it was good value. I wouldnt go here if i was wanting luxury or a quiet time.

The pool was nice and clean and there were plenty of sun loungers available. Also the pool bar was good value for money and the cooked breakfasts were really nice! The only problem really was the reception was open at funny hours which made it difficult if you had a problem. if your looking for a holiday where you chill out in the day and go out at nite this is the place for you! The reason i gave it 5/10 is because the apartments were very basic and one of our beds had broken slats and the rooms didnt get cleaned as often as maybe they could be. But we still had a great holiday!

clean and basic but mattresses leave...

"clean and basic but mattresses leave a nice imprint on your skin and are very uncomfortable.for 3 days we had to listen to building noise coming from another apartment on the complex,on complaining we were told it was not thier responsibility because the apartment in question was private.

pool area very nice but the pool was very cold.

overall if your on a tight budget the luz y mar apartments are good value for money.

Myself and my partner have just...

"Myself and my partner have just returned from these apartments and although basic they are clean and ideally situated for access to both the old town and the new town! The well maintained pool is right outside most peoples apartments and the little snack bar is run by a lovely welsh couple (Mike and Jan), serving gorgeous food and drink at very cheap prices e.g 2 euro a pint and 3.5 euros for a fry-up. They have not been there long but here's hoping they will stay as they can not do enough for the people on the complex. Mike even does a taxi service to the airport!

I have spent many years staying in Puerto del Carmen and I would highly recommend Luz y Mar for your stay. Its def where I will be staying from now on. Its a very quiet complex and quite intimate, only downside is there is no security, but this is ok as long as you lock up at night. Oh yes, there is one rather large maid with no personality but the others are quite pleasant.

This was the first time we had been...

"This was the first time we had been to Lanzarote. We stayed at Luz Y Mar apartments and thought they were very spacious and had everything we needed.

Cleaners came in every other day, the towels were changed every other day, and the bed linen was changed once a week.

The complex was very pretty and clean and the pool was cleaned every other day so it was a pleasure to swim (although water cold) but was nice once in.

The pool bar was run by a couple named Darren and Mandy who were very friendly and helpful.

The full English breakfasts were a treat and the variety of snacks for lunch were good, all together the food we had was cooked to perfection. The bar was very clean and hygienic.

We are hoping to go back at Christmas and would definitely stay at the Luz Y Mar apartments again and would also recommend these apartments to others.

Such a beautiful location. Looks...

"Such a beautiful location. Looks like it is straight out of a magazine. Wonderful white beaches, crystal blue sea. Felt totally relaxed very quickly. Did feel a bit intimidated by the young girls with perfect bodies tanning all around me.

Nothing to do except chill out and unwind. Food not very good and drinks very expensive. Seemed to be very 'couple' orientated which can be quite daunting. Not much chance of a new romance. The place is truly Paradise.

We stayed at Luz Y Mar on 20th...

"We stayed at Luz Y Mar on 20th October 05, apartment 6. Very pleasantly surprised!, two steps to pool, kids loved it, good poolside snack bar. Few things missing when we arrived, but reception could not be more helpful.

Apartment was spacious enough for two adults, 2 children. Plenty of towels, you only had to ask if they don’t change sheets enough! The bar on entrance to apartments offered very nice food, so if you cant be bothered to go very far, I recommend that one! Dan our rep was very helpful. Overall, for self catering we thought it was very good.

Luz Y Mar apartments are basic but...

"Luz Y Mar apartments are basic but well equipped and clean. The maids are about 3 days a week they change the towels then and the bedding weekly. The pool is very cold but clean. There is plenty of sun beds so no need to get up early and reserve. The patio area was quite dirty, the area around the pool was cleaned regular but that is it.

Reception not open for very long so you do need to check the timetable outside. Our First Choice rep was Dan and he was very good and helpful and surprisingly he was around everyday and made a point of saying hello. Location wise it is good not too far from the strip. If you go out of the back of the apartments and turn right and right again and go down the steps to the bottom it brings you out at Lineker's Bar on the strip. If you go out of the front of the apartments and turn left it will take you to the new shopping centre then you have 2 choices either left to the front or carry on down to the harbour.

There is 2 supermarkets out side the apartments Netto next-door or Spar across the road to the left. Loads of very good bars and restaurants locally and down at the harbour and on the strip. We went to the First Choice Rep night at the moonlight bay is was good!! All in all nice apartment, good pool and poolside bar (excellent snacks) not bad location definitely on my list to go back too!!
