You don't get 5* luxury when you pay 2* prices
Having read some of the reviews on here, I was a bit worried but our stay just confirmed that you do get what you pay for. The apartments are in a quiet location at the back of the resort, its about a 10 minute walk to the front and then a further walk to the livlier part of the resort (although there is plenty choice all along the front). Unfortunately there is work going on behind the apartments and we were woken most mornings at 7am with the sound of the digger (note that our apartment was at thh back of the complex and the work was... more
good value for money
These apartments were excellent value for money set in a quiet residential area 10 minute walk from the main road with shops, bars, restaurnats and the beach.Rooms spacious and cleaned 5 times a week bed linning changed twice a week. shower fine plently of hot water for 3 people. only thing was that the towels didnt dry you very well.kitchen had 2 rings and oven/grill, toaster and coffee maker.TV but only a couple of english channels. Staff very helpful and friendly. nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds pool bar good. We had no... more
a CEAP & CHEERFUL BREAK
We booked a week away at Easter, we only paid £240 each. The apartments were clean & basic & a frequent maid service. About a ten minute walk to the main road with the bars & restaurants. Can't complain for the budget price that we paid. We enjoyed our stay but be warned it is very windy so take a fleece to keep you warm !! We enjoyed Lanzarote & hopefully will return. Having read previous reviews we were a bit dubious but thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay. more
we left a week early
we booked a holiday to los tulipanes to go on boxing day and we were staying for a month. my husband, myself and two teenage kids. we had a two bedroomed apartment (they only had two) and i have to say it was awful. The bedrooms were damp and quite dirty, everything you touched came off in your hand, you even had to hire a kettle. The cleaners came 5 times a week to mop the floor and to be honest they would be better off hiring a maintainance man to work the same hours because the place really does need one.Friends arrived on week 2 and had... more
terrible experience
reveiw from scottish couple january 2008, we were burgled during our stay, my two handbags were found in the gardens, the theives stole our safe key from a purse in the handbag and opened the safe took all our money, mobile phone, digital camera, watch, purse & money, money from wallet, money from table, we were left with no money at all. we spent the rest of the holiday visiting the police station & the western union getting money wired to us. we put table and chairs at door after that, so did our neighbour. we were really worried that... more
Great value, very clean basic apartments
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Los Tulipanes Apartments, in Puerto del Carmen, and if you are looking for basic, very clean, good sized apartments in a good location then these are great value. They are located in a quiet residential area and are an uphill walk from the beach/restaurants, easy walk with a pushchair if you are relatively fit - believe me I am no fitness fanatic!! The apartment we stayed in was in need of modernisation but there was a toaster, fridge and reception let us have a kettle for nothing as it was... more
Great holiday sad to leave a big thumbs up for Los Tulipanes
Ive just got back from a weeks stay at Los Tulipanes with my friend and we had a great time. The apartments were a 5-10 minute drive from the airport and when we arrived we were greeted at the reception which had lots of leaflets on places to go and see if you havent visited the island before. We were given a one bedroom apartment which over looked the pool area which was basic but clean and alot better than some apartments ive stayed in on the island. we had a lovely big balcony with tables and chairs everything we needed. The apartment was... more
Great Experience
I stayed here last summer with a friend. It was our second trip to Lanzarote and first time to these appartments. We had a fantastic time, the rooms where clean with a bedroom and bathroom. The living area was large with a sofa bed and tv. Was about 10 mins or so walk to resort centre but was a pleasant walk plus taxi was less than 3 euros! There are two pools we had the smaller pool pretty much to ourselves which was lovely. Snack bar was good and the people who ran it where very friendly. Overall had a great holiday and... more
Good basic appartment
Just returned from a week in Lanzarote staying at the Los Tulipanes. We booked a last minute holiday through Teletext Holidays. It cost us £270, including transfers, flights, acom. I've just read the previous review and we were staying in one of the apartments to the right of the pool. It was an ok size for the two of us. I just felt it needed a refurb and a really good scrub. It was clean but not super clean. Now wish we'd asked to be moved because it sounds like there are better apartments on the complex. Helpful friendly... more
Lovely!
Just back from a two week stay in the Los Tulipanes Apartments with my boyfriend. We were a little nervous as these apartments were not in any of the holiday brochures, and only found out about it when in the travel agents. We were initially given a room to the right of the pool bar. Our apartment was tiny, extremely claustrophobic and the bedroom had a view of a wall no more than 5ft away. The next day we asked to be moved, and were given a first floor apartment overlooking the pool area - it was like a totally different complex!... more
