I stayed two weeks here with my wife and 1 year old son. At first i was worried reading all the reviews but when we got there i must admit it was better than i thot. Clean, tidy, pool cleaned every morning great staff and friendly people where ever you go.... As its 30 apartments its not very crowded and perfect for children and familys.... 8/10

I have today returned from a 5 day trip to Lanzarote and Los Tulipanes and have to say I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life!!
We were in a group of ten lads who went for my friends stag do and truly showed people that you make the most of what you have. The accommodation is extremely basic and thats exactly what was expected all around. The entertainment literally comes from Aissa at the bar who as previous reviews have stated, is probably one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. We had no problems with anything going missing as we hired 2 safes between us all. The drinks are expensive though. A 33cl soft drink is €2.50 which is the same as a beer. The reception then has a little shop which sells Litre bottles of soft drinks for €1.65.
I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone with children due to lack of entertainment.
I would definitely consider returning here in the future

We visited these apartments in Puerto Del Carmen for one week and found them to be basic but clean and good value for money. On arrival the receptionist was not too friendly, but helpful when needed to be. Our room was cleaned every other day, towels and beds changed once during our stay. The only down side was the kitchen, we did not have a kettle, you have to hire one, but a saucepan worked OK and there were not many utensils which made cooking any kind of meal difficult. Eating out is cheap here which is the easier option.Having read other reviews, we were a bit worried about security, we had no problem and never heard any reports of problems during our stay here.
These appartments are on the edge of the resort, so were quiet. The walk to the beach and shops, bars etc is about 10 minutes. You can also walk to 2 other resorts Los Pocillos and Matagorda, and in the other direction the old town. All worth a visit.
All in all a good week away in good acommodation in a good resort.

me and my boyfriend stayed in los tulipanes at the end of feb 10 for 5 nights. it was a surpris for me and to be honest when i was reading reviews i was absolutely dreading it! we stayed around the corner from the pool on 2nd floor. when we first checked in the door was abit dodgy lookin and rooms had a damp smell but we werent too fussy we just wanted somewhere 2 sleep. we were cautious about the break in's so hired a safe as soon as we could and put everything important in it and had the rest cameras etc with me in my bag!the only real negative was the towels were only changed once while there and the pool was freezing but aw well what else 2 expect on a winter holiday! just dont be completely put off as its not that bad and handy 2 walk in2 town!

I went January this year for a week, weather was fine for this time of year low 20s to mid 20s alot better than back home.Los Tulipanes was as i expected when first arrived basic not 2 star, somewhere to put your head down and thats about it.Had requested pool side apartment did not get it when i arrived so decided to survey my room first, number 37 around corner. The apartment was clean, shabby towels though, maid came everyday if you wanted and was very pleasant.TV had only two english channels, you have to hire a toaster if you want one and electric kettle. There is no mini market on site if you want one as it is really only about eight shelves behind checkin desk. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the hill when you turn left when going out of reception. There was afew breakins when i was there around the pool area so im glad i didnt change, one woman i was speaking to, had her room broken into also her mothers within a week, it mostly seems to be the second floor apartments around pool.Security non existent, just be alert and use the safe, dont leave anything on tables,as they have a knack of forcing doors with ease and are in and out.Entertainment none, bar staff ok but i think Danny is overated for he must keep his humour and dedication to this pool bar for summer.I dont see any point in having a happy hour 4 to 5 when every body is out then charge expensive prices in the evening when people whant to unwind.Danny and his staff work in another hotel across road which they run better.Overall ok but if you intend spending most of time here especially with kids a big NO. patrick ireland

got robbed on 2nd day, 3 handbags and two cameras, the pool man found the handbags whilst we were asleep in our room on 2nd floor (room 4). woman on reception showed no compacion what so ever, didnt even contact the police for us had to do it our selves. and didnt even get an interpreter.paid for our own taxis to report the incident.
stayed ther for 7 days and got linen changed three times and room cleaned once.
will never ever rate this hotel gotta be the worst holiday of a life time!! thanks and bye, will never return, has totally turned myself and family off the counrty forever.

As previous reviews mentioned - security is a big here YOU MUST HIRE A SAFE!!.Two girls had all thier money stolen whilst we were there. They had locked all the doors and windows but when they came back their money was gone and not one sign of a break in, so somebody has some keys!
Having got that out of the way, for the money it is a decent place. The pools are cleaned every day, the maid comes every weekday and the rooms themselves are fine.
It's in a good location, very quiet. It takes 8 minutes to get to the beach. If you want busy nightlife you may be better staying somewere near the old town and harbour. There is a vast choice of eating, drinking and shopping all within 8 to 20 minutes stroll. If you walked to the harbour or biosphere shopping centre (it's nothing special though!)it would take about 40 minutes, or in a taxi 5 minutes and around 4 euros

  • Advice: Plenty of shops, bars restaurants
  • Activities: too many to list

We stayed here from 1st October and to be fair it is how its described. We was expecting the pools to be bigger, I really wouldn't say they were large and just to point out i'm not sure which one was heated as they were both freezing! Our apartment really smelt bad of cig smoke but was clean. Didn't use the bar much or reception just used it as a base for holiday and that is all it is good for. For the price you really can't complain.

after reading everything that was wrote on this page i was dreading this holiday! i wasnt going to go. but my parents made me go lol, first couple of days i was very stuck up and i hated it, it looked like something my brother plays on the xbox, after 2 days i came around to the idea, and i realised how nice this little appartment actually was. i have been to 4* 5* hotels and no one would talk to you, but this place had the most friendliest people there it was untrue, we used to sit out till early hrs of morning just talking even tho aissa and danny told us all to go to bed, the bar staff were the best bar staff i have ever met and i am definatley going back 4 my 21st bday in a couple of months... i did not want to come home... miss all you guys from los tulipanes and thanks for such a GREAT HOLIDAY XXXXX see you in feb lyl xx

After reading all the reviews on here I was nervous to say the least about staying at los tulipanes..However we had an absolutley amazing holiday and the apartments were basic but clean! We had no problems with our towels or bedding and in all honesty, I was extremley paranoid about the security of the apartments after reading how many robberies occurred. However this can be avoided by GETTING A SAFE! If your valuables are of importance surely you cannot grumble about paying 15 euro a week to keep them safe! The apartments are only a 10 min walk away from the main strip which offers loads of fab things to do! Although I loved Los Tulipanes I would not recommend it for families with young children as there is not much in terms of entertainment for young ones of a night time- that said though there is the main strip not too far away... A HOLIDAYS WHAT YOU MAKE IT!!Enjoy x
