This is one of the best guest houses we have ever stayed in. The owner went out of his way to ensure that our stay was first class. We were given a room over at the apartments which also had a kitchen and a private bathroom, the room was large and very lovelly, it felt like home. Our television had a free view box, so we had a lot of channels to watch. Travelling to and from the city was very quick, a 5 minute journey on the bus and a bus stop right out front, very handy. Breakfast was first class.
Thanks to the owner and his staff for making our weekend a fantastic one. When we return to Edinburgh we will be staying here again!
Thank you!

Staying here for one night was a big mistake! I was put into a room in a flat opposite the main building and not given any contact details for use in an emergency. I felt very unsafe in this building been a female travelling alone. I purposely picked a guest house since I thought these would be safer than a standard hostel! The bed blocked a door which was my exit to the kitchen/bathroom, and balcony if a fire started in the other end of the room! I was also told since i was not in the main building breakfast was not included, and i didn't need to check out in the morning, just leave my towels and keys in the room! Extremely disappointed! The lady serving did not speak very much English either! It clearly said on the website I used to book that Breakfast was included! The TV was not plugged in, but was plugged into an extension cord with electrical tape wrapped around it. A fire risk in my eyes! I will not be staying here again! I had to buy my own breakfast from Jimmy Chungs in town!

In my last visit to Edinburgh this year I have stayed at Drumorne Guest House for one week, the place is lovely, friendly atmosphere, very pleasant owner, good breakfast, and the house itself is very close to the city centre (about 5 minutes if you take the bus, or about 20 minutes if you want to walk), I would range this place above the average in total as I had a very good time there, and I would definitely recommended to other people visiting edinbrugh.

We were orignally booked into 2 B&B rooms, but as we were a family we were given the self-catering apartment. It was clean, very comfortable, and very close to town. The food was very good, and the gentleman was extremely caring to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything that we required. We will definitely stay again and I can recommend it to others wanting a good B&B.

My friend and I stayed in the Drumorne apartments over the weekend. We were really impressed with how clean, comfortable and modern they were. The owners at the bed and Breakfast were real ly polite and helpful. Breakfast was great!!! For a reasonably priced B&B, it is really good value for your money. Will definately stay over again when Im in the city.
Its a bit away from the center of the city but there is a bus right outside the B&B, otherwise cabs are available.
Overall it was a great stay and lovely to come back to after a long day of sightseeing.

Family and I have just returned to Malta from a 10 days pleasent and enjoyable holiday in Edinburgh. A big thanks goes to Drumorne guest house i.e. Abe and his female helper(apologies for forgetting name). Both were helpful during our holiday. Very reasonable prices, bountyful breakfast and a comfy place to stay. Won't hesitate to be back in this guest house if in Edinburgh again. Keep it up Abe.
Love

Just got back to London after spending a great 3 days in Edinburgh. My girlfriend and I found Drumorne Guest house to be excellent value for money, have exceptional hospitality (thank you Abe!) and is clean and cosy. The perfect place to base yourself outside of the city centre (only a 7min bus ride away) and very close to Holyrood Park.

I have just read the comments above and decided to write something in response to them.
I've been to many Guest Houses all all over UK and I think that they are generally in quite a different standard that those in a continental Europe.
I spent 3 nights in Drumorne B&B and I really enjoyed it. The owner was helpful and friendly. To be honest I still can't get used to a traditional Scottish breakfast, but the food was really good.
If you want to save some money and have good time in Edinburgh you can definitely stay there.

Stayed overnight at this hotel whilst attending a concert in Edinburgh.
Should have turned back after having to drive through Leith to get there (not for the faint hearted - no offence to anyone living there!). It's not very close to the centre - about £8 in a taxi, and that's a lot for Edinburgh.
The staff / owner's family were reasonably friendly, however there was a problem - we had specifically booked two rooms for five young men - a twin and a triple room. Imagine our surprise and joy to discover the twin was instead a double, and they had no other rooms / beds available. We tried in vain to get this sorted with the girl working at the time (who was lovely but unable to help) , and had to wait two hours for the manager to arrive.
He was most unhelpful, denied that we had booked five beds, and then became close to abusive when we provided evidence of the booking (which he had demanded to see). We then demanded a discount, given that one of us would have to sleep on the floor, to which he responded - if you only pay me that then I will not be providing extra bedding (covers/pillows etc). He kept insisting that we were getting a good price (although the previous evening we had paid less for two rooms in a Travelodge in Glasgow). Fortunately one of our party ended up not needing a bed that night, however the disappointment with the attitude of the owner remains.
The rooms themselves were pokey at best, and a little worse for wear. The bathroom ceiling leaked and there was a lot of mould. I think we were given three towels between five of us as well, although personally I could not bring myself to use the shower given the state it was in!
Avoid like the plague.

My wife and I have just returned from a trip to the United Kingdom. We drove from London up the east coast to Edinburgh stopping at various B&B.
We made the mistake of stopping at the Drumorne guest house for 3 days.
This would be by far the worst place we have ever stopped at. The Breakfasts were terrible and the room was so small we couldn't take our suitcases up to the room and had to leave them in the car, making many trips to get clothing.
The management in the place knew little English.
So it would be a good place to stay clear off.

This is my favorite bnb ever. I stayed her for a month, and i liked it more and more as time went on. Abi, the owner, is a great guy. Very sincere and positive and helpful. Its clean, centrally located and is a great lauch pad for seeing edinburgh. I would definitely recommend it.
