We have just returned from The Flora...
9 / 10
Mar 2008, Mrs D Vick

We have just returned from The Flora Apartments (room 149). We found the complex extremely clean and very well presented. Our room was also very clean and included all the utensils required for self catering. We were surprised that the rooms were cleaned every day and the bedding and towels changed regularly without any prompting. The facilities on site were excellent for children although not very impressive for adults and the bar drinks were a little pricey although they were far cheaper than you would pay over here in hotel bars. There was road noise in the apartment, but during the night very little and the only noise we encountered then was from the people staying upstairs who seemed to be drunk alot and returned home at 4 ish in the morning and started arguing, so nothing to do with the apartments. Overall we thought it was very well situated with pleasant staff and would quite happily go back again particularly in relation to the price we paid for the holiday.Excellent value.

Feb 2008, Mrs W Hawthorne

Stayed at the Flora Apartments at half term in October and we had a fantastic time. The apartments were cleaned, and bedding changed while we were there. We had a ground floor apartment overlooking the pool which was fantastic.
Our 9 year old son had a really good time and the entertaineers did a fantastic job.
There were 7 adults and one child in our group and all had a great time.
Would definately recommend this hotel to everyone, couples or people with children.

having never been to lanzarote and speaking to a few people once i had booked i was thinking oh my goodness what have i booked.
when we arrived the apts were really clean and tidy, had a few little issues with the local ants that kept appearing but after a word in receptions ear the problem was soon resolved.
we found that we did not have a cot for our daughter again with a quick word again in receptions ear they soon came up trumps with blankets etc and a cot.
the food and entertainment in this complex was great, the food in the restaurant was lovely as well we didnt have breakfast in there till about our 5th day and as we only went for a week we only did a few days.
the staff were great with our little girl all made a consious effort to speak to her and keep watch over her.
apts are not far from town and beach bout a 10 - 15 min walk, going down is ok but going up is more of a slog as it is up hill.
i would not recomend for oap's or wheelchair users b ok if they got a taxi. there is a supermarket as you go down the hill on the left handside this was great, thank god for our little ones pushchair to balance the bags on.
we will definately be returning to these apts if we go away for winter sun again.

I came back from room 144 yesterday...

Feb 2008, Mr AM Clark

I came back from room 144 yesterday and I will say it was very clean, with no damp or anything else to moan about! I didn't see a cockroach in the room once, but my friends had a couple in room 146. It is a volcanic island, so its hostile environment for plants and animals after all, so maybe a cockroach or 2 isn't out of place! It is the canaries after all! anyway, every room was equipted with cockroach spray so its not as if you have to chase it with a rolled up magazine! I'll be going there again next year as I found it all at a really good standard. especially the value breakfast for only 3.50 euro! Thumbs up for The Flora Apartments! See you next year! If I don't have a sly holiday before! :)

The Flora complex is actually quite...

Feb 2008, Mr C Doherty

The Flora complex is actually quite nice - nice size pool, entertainment area, shop etc. However - rooms are very disappointing. We were given room 144 (don't take it if given!!!) - which was dirty, run down, damp, smelly, cock-roach ridden - and damn noisey as it's beside the road. The cot they provided us with was unsafe for a dog - ready to fall apart, with cigarette burns in it also!!! We refused to stay in it, but were told to talk to rep next morning. After 7 hours of arguing next morning, finally got an upstairs apt away from the road...which was better, but still not the cleanest. We met near the end of the week the family who were then put into 144, and said they were plagued with cockraches!!! Falcon give it 3 stars - the complex itself advertises as only 2 keys????? The brochure states clean towels 3 times per week - we had to ask for them after 4 days...also apt was only cleaned when we asked on the 5th day!!!! Clearly not 2 or 3 star rating!!!!
Overall we didn't allow this to ruin our holiday. Food - "gut buster" brekkie in Red Rose cafe, half way down the hill - was fantastic!!! Chinese restaurant at bottom of hill, turn left, 20 yds - fantastic feed!! Best pint is in Nelly's, a further 20 yds up, turn left....it's a small basic Irish bar - lovely pint of Tropical for 2 euros!!!

The apartments are set over 2 sides of the road we were on the main side but to be honest either side would not have bothered us. Every where was lovely and clean breakfast was 3.50 euros and you could eat and drink as much as you liked. Entertainment on every afternoon and night. not many sunbeds around pool but we never had a problem. Apartments are at top of a hill but if you go up and down on left its only a slight slope and my mum has heart trouble and managed no trouble. the only bad thing i would say was that the towels are only changed once in a week so take your own. plenty of hot water and the kitchen and lounge part lovely and clean. shops and restuarants all good just watch the purple turtle restaurant in the week food was fab sunday dinner big disapointment as all microwaved and beef cold. we had a second dinner brought but still cold but we were hungry. other than that fab time had by all and i will be booking this apartment to go again. also if you want a tour go with atlanta tours 14 euros 20 if you want lunch and you see the whole island. good value.

Fantastic holiday. I would recommend this place to any family with young children or would like to have a quiet relaxing holiday, not partying the night away!
The staff here were very friendly and helpful the place itself was very clean and tidy. The entertainment wasn’t up to much but we made up for that on karaoke night on Thursdays and Sundays. Go and enjoy!!

This was such a brilliant holiday!...

Nov 2007, Miss EL Lees

This was such a brilliant holiday! The accomodation was lovely and had a very nice atmosphere around the pool. All the staff were really friendly and make you feel welcome there. The animation team (Janine and Remco) were excellent and arranged varied activities so that everyone could join in. They also have good shows on at night for people who like to stay at the apartments and watch the entertainment.
Puerto del Carmen is also a lovely resort with a very nice harbour, it also has a lot of nice restaurants so you have quite a lot of choice within the old and new town. It was the best holiday I've had!

Nov 2007, Miss LOC OCONNOR

Hello my name is Laura and I have just arrived back from the Flora apartments in Lanzarote, I thought they were the best apartments I have ever stayed in.
The weather was amazing and the pool was a bit cold, but you would have to put your towel on a sunbed early or else you would find it hard to get one during the day.
The entertainment was brilliant and the entertainers (Iscka, Janine, Remco, Madelon and Claire) were very very good. The miniclub and the games during the day were excellent and then at night the mini disco and the shows were absolutely amazing.
The staff was very nice and polite, the hotel and rooms were really clean the staff would clean the rooms regularly.
I thought the food was not nice so I didn't really eat that much which was bad because we had all inclusive but some things were okay.
So that's really all and I will definitely go back to the Flora apartments again!

Oct 2007, Mr L Evans

When we arrived at the Flora we were directed to our room which was on the opposite side of the road and next to the gates. This meant that we had noise all through the night from people returning to their rooms at 2 and 3 o'clock in the morning.
Unfortunately our room was full of damp and cockroaches - after persistent trying we were given a room on the opposite side by the main pool which proved much better.
The kid’s entertainment during the day was very good but the cleaning around the pool could have been better. The youngest member of our party stepped off a sunbed to go into the pool and a piece of long piece of glass sliced into his foot. The sunbeds were reserved very early ever morning which was really annoying.
Overall had we had an enjoyable time in Tenerife, but this was definitely not down to the Flora Apartments.

Sep 2007, Mrs D Lambert

Me, the hubby and 2 children (aged 5 and 12) spent two weeks at the Flora and had one of the best holidays ever!!
Our apartments (216) was lovely and clean with towels/bedding changed regularly and we had a superb view overlooking the pool and the sea -it's worth requesting this when you book!
The staff were friendly enough and the animation team-Ishca and Andrea were excellent with both the adults and children-they work so hard and probably for not much money. The evening shows were usually very good although as with anything a night's what you make it in my eyes!!
As we were All-Inclusive we ate in the restaurant most days and I have to say that the food was of a good standard with different things every night (and you must try the soup!)
The only downside was some of the bar staff (miserable is an understatement) as they didn't seem to understand that we had already paid for drinks and snacks when we booked the all inclusive holiday.
The pool area is clean and the children are safe, although if you want a sun bed it's worth getting up early to put your towel down.
Our rep Danny was really lovely and approachable and even came to say goodbye while we were queuing to check in at the airport.
I would definitely recommend this complex for families and young couples. An excellent time was had by all!!

Stayed at the Flora apartments for...
7 / 10
Aug 2007, janeyfloppett

Stayed at the Flora apartments for the 1st 2 weeks of the school hols so it was fairly busy.
If you are a late riser then you have no chance of getting a sun bed by the main pool as you have to get up early to bag one of these. There is another pool over the road in the other block of apartments but it was pretty deep so not suited to kids.
Our apartment was over on the other side away from the main part of the complex and we used the underground walkway as the road was fairly busy especially when you have kids, rubber rings, towels etc.
The gates shut around 8pm anyway so you have to use the walkway at night, but it is well lit, clean and nothing like the underpasses you get in the UK.
Our apartment was basic but catered for our needs as we like to eat out, air conditioning would have helped as the temperature soared during the middle of our holiday, but unfortunately there is none at the Flora.
The camp bed and sofa bed are best left to the kids as they aren't the most comfy things to sleep on.
There is a TV in the room; you do have to pay at reception for it though. Our apartment was cleaned regularly and we had clean towels every few days so no complaints there.
Andrea & Ishcka are by far the best thing about the apartments, they get on with kids of all ages and take them off to kids club at 11am and 3pm each day as well as mini disco at 830pm. They also arranged water polo and water aerobics each day, the pool was rather cold but once you’re in its not so bad.
We didn't eat much at the Flora apart from breakfast, great value at 3.50 euros and half price for kids, loads of choice, pastries, breads, cold meats, cereals, yoghurts etc. Not great if you like your English cooked breakfasts though, but the Purple Turtle just down the hill came highly recommended.
My husband and daughter had a Sunday roast and sausage and mash at the purple turtle too and said they where really tasty.
The pool bar was well priced for drinks etc, but we used the onsite supermarket for our cold drinks as they where really cheap and no one seemed to mind (some places don't like you bringing drinks around the pool that you haven't bought from the bar do they).
Plenty of fresh fish restaurants in the old town, about 10 minutes walk down the hill (as you come out of reception turn right and take the left fork at the island, this is a gentler hill) New town very busy with all sorts of restaurants, bars, shops etc.
Would recommend the Lanis chain of restaurants they are all over the island and each one specialises in a different type of food - grill, Mexican, Indian, international etc.
We found the cost of living to be pretty good, meals where well priced as where the drinks, we didn't find it expensive at all.
