Whilst reading the reviews on The Flora Appartments Please SKIP Miss C mc Namara's as its [--]!! I have not one complaint to make about the Flora, it was a lovely resort and the appartments were basic but clean and comfortable.
We too stayed in the studios overlooking the pool and also had to use the tunnel at night, which is NOT dangerous ! Our towels and bedclothes were changed every two days which is sufficiant ! I found the receptionist nice and helpfull. If you are looking for somewhere to shop try the Bissafera in puerto del carmen. There is also a nice supermarket a small distence from the appartments, although the hill back up is quite steep, but managable ! The pool was never crowded, and always clean.
The restaurant there was nice for drinks and snacks during the day, it was inexpensive. The town also has some lovely restaurants for eating out at night, there is also many bars and clubs to choose from ! Taxi's are always available, and dont cost much, Aprox. 4-5e to get into town. In our whole stay of two weeks we only seen one cockroach... ! Which was outside. We never had problems with them in the studios, nor did we hear of anyone else having any ! I would definately recomend these appartments to anyone, me and my boyfriend are visiting Greece this year and would be more than pleased if our appartments there were anything like the Flora!! Lovely holiday!!

arrived on the 22nd of june 2009 to stay for 2 weeks as a birthday present. we had to wait 90mins for the key to or apartment. we were given room 378 across the road(pool view).the apartment complex is not near the beach or the harbour or shopping centre which was annoying as it states it is. returned from dinner at half 10 had to go true reception as the gate was locked to or apartment area had to walk true a tunnel which was dangerous. got to the apartment and was surprised to see we had hundreds of visitors (cockroaches) coming out of the presses the fridge and behind the television as well as the bathroom. Picked up the fone to ring reception and it was dead.So we had to trapes up to reception to complain. The girl that was their was fairly ignorant as i explained bout the cockroaches and asked to be moved even to a second floor apartment i was informed that they fly in other words what are u on about. she then said that she wuld send some fella up to the room to get rid of them and they would move us in the morning so we agreed that wuld be okay.back to the apartment and 10mins later a man arrived handed a can of "AIR FRESHNER" to my partner and said sumthing in spanish and walked off. So i rang the first choice 24hr helpline and spoke to a lovely girl that was highly disgusted by the airfreshner and that they culdnt move us to another room that night as she new they werent booked out. so she said she'd ring them and sort it.we were then given the key to 364 and 379 to see which 1 we wanted but we checked and they were full of cockroaches aswell. so back up to reception again and then we were given keys to 244 and 245 which were 2nd floor apartments in the main building. They were fine so we took 244 and had to move all or stuff at 12.30am as we left 378 a girl that was 7 doors down asked were we leaving and i said we were moving because of cockroaches she said the couple that were in the apartment before us had them aswell. so we finally got to bed after been up since 3 the morning before. We only had 4 towels that were only changed every 3 days and twice they left us with none. their was 1 pillow each which i reckon was actually a pillowcase. It was the worst 2 weeks of my life all i wanted to do was go home. I have been to lanzarote numerous times but i will not be returning the flora apartments really turned me off and as for first choice /jwt /falcon with apartments like the flora in their brochures i will never book a holiday true them again nor will my family or my friends. If this apartment complex was in ireland it would be closed down its a disgrace that these tour operators expect people to stay in an apartment complex that doesnt even reach the irish health and safety standards.

after reading differevt views i was surprised on arrival how clean flora was. we was put over the road which was nice and quiet. the food was good with buffet style eat as much has you want.the only disadvantage was its distance from the main front which was a nice walk at night but because of steep hills and roadworks better in taxi. entertainment very good for kids and drinks plentiful till 11 then it stops

A bit worried having read some comments but soon realised it was a good choice. We found it clean an well maintained, staff pleasant and good amenities.
Our room was clean, tidy, well equiped and comfortable. Overlooking the sea was especially nice.
For us the location was idea, quiet but livler areas within walking distance.
However for some the beech and town are a fair distance (20 mins) and very steep coming back!!
Would we go back - definately. \enjoyed the holiday immensely - great weather, great location, lovely island, good food and very relaxing.

We read some of the very poor reviews on here about the flora apartments and we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect, arrived to find a nice, friendly welcome,no problems booking in,apartment was clean and tidy. If you needed clean towels you just needed to ask and they were there, room was cleaned every other day.The pool and pool area were cleaned every morning without fail.Water was a bit cold but ok once you were in!We had a thunderstorm on the second day which gave us the chance to meet some of our neighbours whilst having some drinks watching the rain from the balcony!
The hotel is situated near the top of a hill which wasn't a problem for us,but would be for elderly or infirm guests.
We went out to find somewhere to eat on the first night and had a horrible meal. The PURPLE TURTLE Restaurant/bar was recommended in some of the reviews on here so we went on day 2 and ate there twice a day for the rest of the holiday! Highly recommend the breakfast, absolutely lovely! The staff were really friendly and the food was great. Also recommend the tiny Chinese restaurant that we passed every day,but only tried on our last day, which was really nice and not expensive. duck was amazing!
There are a few cats at the complex to Hayleys delight as we love animals and she couldn't resist buying some friskies and watching them munching! Keeps the mice away doesn't it!We only saw two very small cockroaches outside the apartment, which isnt too bad considering we were there for 7 days. Overall,a pleasant stay,we would definately return to the resort, make up your own mind about the place, some people must just like to moan about very minor problems.Just enjoy your holiday!

Are apartments where located on the opposite side of the road which we didnt really mind until the first evening we went out and returned to find the gate locked.. and where unaware this happened and left us panicing that we had been locked out of the complex in the end we found the under-ground tunnel in the hotel which is quite steep and can be quite slipply when wearing flip flops.
The pool here was very dangerous the shallowest part was 1.7m so you couldnt lie and relax in the shallow warmer water. There was also a lack of sun loungers in this area in total there was 12 and im sure there was more than 12 guests stayin on this side of road.
There is no way this complex is 800m from the beach nor 500m from Puerto del Carmen's shopping centre (must be a Canarian measurement). A Taxi is a great idea when returning from the beach or we found when shopping we tried the first day to walk up with are shopping but its not easy in the heat and your groceries for the self-catering holiday.
We also when booking requested a double bed and where asured there was air-conditioning which there wasn't, we paid extra for the tv which was a waste most channels where in spanish though it did have bbc and channel 4 but unfortualy you could only watch them for about 2mins then the channel went fussy.
My girlfriend also fell whilst in the hotel and was given no assistance I found this very annoying as the staff seen it happen and didnt even come over to check if she was ok.
The entertainment in the hotel I felt was very poor and only appealed to a selective audience.
We found a great english run bar and restaurant down at the harbour (Scotch Corner + Sunset Grill) the staff here where so helpful and friendly not to mention the food was amazing. We tried a few other places to eat but the food tasted pre-cooked and the staff where trying too hard to impress us where as at the sunset grill the food was to a high standard and the staff where just natural and more keenly priced and if it wasn't on the menu they would try to get you it!
In all it was an OK holiday but wasn't that impresed with Lanzarote as a whole seen the volcanoes, went camel ridding, went to Teguise market (not worth it), and went on the Submarine Safari yeah all great to say I've done but I would be in no hurry back and certainly not to Flora!

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Flora, with my Husband and 1 year old Daughter.
I was a little nervous after reading the reviews and wondered where I had booked. We arrived at 20:00 and was greated by very friendly staff. They thought that we were due to arrive after 21:00, so had made us a picnic, as the restaurant closes at 21:00. A thoughtfull touch I thought.
We went to our room and was very impressed. It was not dated, and everything looked new. There was a range of kitchen equipment incase your S/C, a fridge, microwave and kettle. Very handy.
The next morning we went for breakfast. It was lovely. Again the staff were friendly.
We spent the first day by the pool, but it was not the best idea with a 1 year old. The side of the pool sloped into the water, so this was dangerous and i saw a few people fall and hurt themselves. So we spent most of our days at the beach. This not the fault of the Flora, just easier with a very very busy one year old. But the pool set up should be reviewed.
The food throughout the day and the evening was Ok. The only problem was there was not much choice, which was disappointing. It would be very difficult for a vegetarian. Although the food that was there was good and tasty.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would not think twice about a return visit. A holiday is what you make of it, and if you look for a problem then you will eventually find one.
We hope you enjoy your holiday.

Just returned and will not be returning. Problems:
(1)Booked an apartment with pool view and ended up overlooking a busy road, spoken to rep who spoke to the hotel manager to no avail. Access to the bar, food hall and main swimming pool was to cross the busy road however, this gate was closed at 6.00 p.m and then we had to trudge to our apartment through the under tunnel. Apartments were ok but no air con and got very stuffy during the night. However, towels and cleaning were done 3 times a week and cleaning staff very friendly.
(2)FOOD APPALLING Ok i'm a vegetarian which aint helpful, but jesus, salad was plentiful BUT with added tuna, salmom or ham (not easy to pick out). Food very repetative and with a group of meat lovers even they were slowly becoming vegetarians, due to the poor QUALITY meat and fish dishes. What was left you could guarantee it was to be served the next day, yes onion rings for breakfast and battered courgettess, but from a starvin veggie i gave in to eatin these. Snacks were either ham WITH cheese sandwiches, ham pizza onion rings in general poor choice and yet again repetative. TO MAKE IT SIMPLE VERY POOR CHOICE,.
(3)STAFF- some friendly but the majority not, did feel this was to people who were all inclusive.
(4) ENTERTAINMENT- vey poor when it did happen and when it did it lasted for only an hour till 10.00p.m bar closed at 12.00p.m.
(5)SAFETY- being a qualified nurse did not help seeing the falls form children and adults whist walking around the swimming pool and to the kids swimming pool. however, there is a small sign stating no first aid, also stating swimming only allowed between 10.00a.m and 6.00 p.m however i aint no party pooper but seeing people swimming early hours of the morning drunk was a bit of a worry.
(6)DRINKS- the usual watered down local spirits very poor choice but lots of the good stuff if you're willing to pay.
(7)access to the town very, very hilly though a taxi is only 3 euros but a bit like blackpool very repatative and prices go up the further you walk.
TO CONCLUDE THIS IS THE WORST ALL INCLUSIVE HOLIDAY I HAVE BEEN TO WOULD NOT BE GOIN AGAIN TO THE FLORA OR LANZAROTE AGAIN. IF YOU DO GO MAKE SURE YOU GO WITH GOOD COMPANY AND MAKE YOUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT AND THANKGOD IT IS ONLY ONE WEEK YOU DARE CHOOSE TO GO.

we (4 adults 3 kids) stayed in the flora apts for 2wks in july. i had read all reviews but didn't take much notice as wanted to judge for myself.... when we first arrived we were put in apts on the opp side to recp ok if you have no kids but in our party its not safe to be on a BUSY road with a 10, 5 and 4 yr old, so after 3 nights we moved apts for 20 euro each (well worth it) only other problen was i dislocated my shoulder playing w/polo and no staff knew first aid (even the kids rep) + they couldn't speak spanish!!!!!!!!!!! MIND YOUR KIDS GOING DOWN THE SLOP TO THE KIDS POOL VERY SLIPPY NEARY EVERY CHILD FELL. Cleaning staff are lovely, show's at night (10pm) are fab kids really enjoyed them + the kids disco is great.

just got back from flora, what a week that just wasnt long enough, we were self catering but upon speaking to some people already there it made sense to go all inclusive, boy! did we get our monies worth, appartments clean and ok! the food was abit repetative but we ate it my 8year old daughter mainly had chips but apart from that all the drinks, ice cream etc all free,we paid 250 euros for all the three of us for 6days good money spent i thought, entertainers Remi and Inga made the holiday worth while, would defo go back to Flora but in cooler season some days the afternoons just got to HOT! OVER ALL ENJOYED IT! SAD TO COME BACK SO QUICKLY.

Having read the reviews before we went we were very worried. Upon arrival we were very pleased with the apartments we were given, we requested a pool view and in my opinion were given two of the best for location. The rooms were spacious and clean but a little shabby, but much better than we imagined they would be. The AI food was not that good, always plenty of it but not the best selection and very boring, the same thing more or less for 2 weeks. The afternoon snacks were a joke with just leftovers from lunch. One our first day we were allowed to order from the snack bar which was very good but when we tried the following day it wasn't allowed because the manager said there were to many AI guests staying, when I challenged this he could not have cared less. The one thing that made this holiday for our family was our entertainment team, we were lucky enough to have a guy called Remi who is absolutely lovely all 6ft 9ins of him and a lovely personality it was a real pleasure joining in the games with him, every body loved him, hes off at the end of August and I think he'll be a hard act th follow. So thanks Remi for making our holiday fun. The Cat trip on Catalana was brilliant and we all had a good time, the Island tour though is to long and did get a little boring. One the whole a good holiday. Would we go back - No I don't think so.

My partner & 3 children stayed here for a fornight and would loved to have stayed longer. Ok the apts are basic but only somewhere to put your head. I honestly dont know how anyone could complain about the food,(unless they're used to eaten crap)! The breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, cereals, cold meats, and a cooked breakfast(scrambled eggs yummie). lunch and dinner was delicious with a mixture of hot and cold meats and fish dishes, rice and pasta dishes and potatoes or chips. lovely salads and soups and desserts.(profiteroles gorge!).Everything was well cooked and tasted lovely and was refilled even before it was finished. Staff were pleasant and very accomodating. The childrens entertainers were extremely hard working and always had time for the children - even when they were on they're break.Local drinks were also nice to and all very drinkable.kids loved the hot chocolate! The only downside is that there just wasn't enough sunbeds to go round. We regularly had to sit at the table n chairs beside the pool. Some mornings they released the sunbeds as early as half 8, other time 10 so unless your and earlybird who could sit and wait you'd no chance until half 4 or 5 in the day of getting 1.All in all and ab fab hol. Anyway a hols what you make it, if you go looking for bad points your gonna find them. I would def go back to flora.
