Legends Beach Resort Hotel

As November 2004 rolled around I began to get excited because I knew I would be returning to Negril and The Legends Beach Resort. My sister and I had stayed here last November (our first time) and it was a wonderful experience. You’ve heard it said “It doesn’t get any better than this.” Well my wife and I just returned from our second stay at Legends, and it was even better than the first year! What is it that makes Legends so great? Certainly the price is right (you’d be hard pressed to find an all inclusive that can come close). The rooms are comfortable and clean. The food is good. So after reading the reviews we were very concerned. Here is my take on this hotel. Take your own Beach towel and pack an extra bath towel. The towel situation is a joke the maid takes them at 10am and never has them back before 3 or 4pm. Ok you can deal with that. The rooms were basic, 2.5 rating means no coffee maker, no hairdryer, no shampoos, no floor mats, no frills. Reception is scary but once your in the room its fine. Legends was not at all what we were expecting. BUT, the staff there was excellent, and I would go back there just to see the staff. They were kind and caring and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and even safe. They are now people we consider our friends, and the staff is the best thing Legends has going for it, other than beautiful Jamaica. Yes you get approached a lot on the beach, but, it is "no problem" if you know how to say no!

My friend and I stayed at legends the last week of Oct/04. The price was right. I was concerned after reading many negative reviews, but glad I didn't change my mind. The rooms are spacious, but basic. Most important..clean. I did not encounter any bugs in my room. On the beach at dusk, that is a different story. This was our first trip to Jamaica, we chose Legends because we wanted to stay in a small hotel rather than one of the big complexes. The staff were very friendly - which we found was typical of the Jamaican people. The rooms are basic but clean. Ours was on the beach side which was wonderful - the sea and the beach are perfect. I went to Legends from 8/30 - 9/3/04. upon leaving I also read the reviews on this hotel, after reading them I was unsure if this hotel was good for me to stay at. As I arrived I did have to wait ntil the room was ready but it only took about 30minutes. There is 2 sides of the hotel a garden side and ocean side which means if you are on the garden side that your room is located across the street from the beach. Its not far to walk to at all but you do have to cross a busy street. The people there drive very,very fast so be extra cautious... more

I just returned from Legends with my 17 and 19 year old children. I did not read your reviews prior to booking and was panic stricken when I finally read them. I was pleasantly surprised with our experience. Legends is a two star hotel and that is what you get. Superior rooms are on the ocean side while standard rooms are on the other side of the street which is not as bad crossing as the reviews said. Sercurity will help you cross if you ask.
