I recently stayed at the Pefkos Village Resort with my boyfriend. Having previously stayed in Pefkos (but at the Marianthi), we knew what to expect from the resort itself. When booking we were intending to try and rebook at the Marianthi, however the prices were really... more

A fantastic holiday we only wished we had booked 2 weeks instead of one. We are a couple of fun loving girls! In our early forties, looking for sun, sea, good restaurants and a comfortable place in which to relax and chill. The accommodation is amazing the pool area, bar... more

Nice Hotel
Very nice hotel with great pool. A bit of a walk into the main area with bars etc. Very clean with good staff.
Great Apartments
Had a fantastic time at the Pefkos Village. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. Friendly and helpful Staff. Drinks and food in bar/restaurant are good and reasonably priced. Only bad point is location which is a good walk from centre but easy at night just hot in daytime. We don't mind walking but hired a car to make trips to the beach easier. Pefkos is a lovely resort with a good choice of bars and restaurants. The colisseum was a particular favourite.
Loved this place
Had a fantastic time here, couldn't fault it. Me, my partner & son went here in June 2006, in the week the apartments first opened and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Would definately go back.
Fantastic...
My wife and I stayed here for a fortnight 19/09/07-03/10/07. We're in our very early thirties and have been to various Greek islands before. We really loved our stay here. It ticked all the right boxes for us. The accommodation was well above what we expected for Greece. We had a 1 bedroomed apart/studio, with a seperate bedroom, seperate living area and very modern kitchen. Both the living area and the bedroom opened onto our very large balcony. This is definately a place to chill and unwind. The staff are absolutely excellent, so friendly and are always happy to help. The weather was well into the 90's each day, though I do believe this is higher than normal at this time of year. Food was very good, as good as we ate all holiday/ The resort of Pefkos is about 15 mins walk away, nice and easy! There's plenty of bars/restaurants in Pefkos, and enough going on for all ages. Lindos is a 5 min taxi drive away, about 7 euros, and this is definately worth a visit. If you are thinking of visiting here, just book it!
Great week here.
Spent a fantastic week here in early September. The accommodation is really excellent and seems to have had a bit spent on it in recent times. All the staff are very frendly and the resort itself is a short distance from the centre ( 15 - 20 Mins) which made for a plesant walk into town before going out for a few drinks and a bite to eat in the evenings. However, if you don't fancy a walk into town there is still plenty to do in the hotel ( good bar and good food) as well as a couple of Tavernas around the hotel. We would recommend Nickolas' Taverna, however, Kavos Taverna was fantastic. Great location on the cliffe above kavos beech and the food was amazing, especially if you like fresh sea food, I even got to pick my own fish. By the way, if you get car from Avis make sure you tell the Taxi that it is in Lardos Beach as we were told it was in Lardos by our rep and spent a very confusing hour trying to track in down, we eventually had to get another cab to take us back.
A++++++ much better than the brochure
We stayed 22/8 -5/9 in room 104, a 1 bedroom apartment, it was modern, with maid service everday except Sundays and clean sheets every other, the bathroom had bath & seperate showers. kitchen with new appliances and microwave. The TV had english programmes so ideal for the kids. The whole complex is extremelly clean and the pool was never too crowded with sun beds available throughout the day, if you wanted the shaded ones then you had to get up early. The restaurant provided a good selection and we ate there 5 nights and most days for lunch or brunch, the food was very good. There is a little beach about 5 min walk away although no sunbeds, but very safe for small children who loved it. Eating out I would recommend the Greek House or the Nicholas, The Nostalger was OK. The glass bottom boat trip from Pefkos to Lindos return is well worth 18 Euros. As is the Waterpark in Faleraki. I would also recommend getting a taxi from the airport and back as it saves time. What makes this complex the best we have stayed in for many a year, had to be the Staff all were so friendly and helpful especially Tsambekos, Kim and his dad the Chef who helped us alot on quiz night. Lee are Rep was brillant and nothing was too much trouble. Many Thanks to you all. We will definatly go back so if you have chance go.
fantastic complex
Well I have just got back from pefkos village resort and every one was right about how good it is.After arriving at the airport and having to wait the usual 1 hour to get the suitcase's we decided to get a taxi to pefkos instead of the coach, its 4am and we didnt want to be on the coach for 2 hours,so after a chat with the taxi driver about price ( 45 euros, should be 41 but thought it was still price ) we arrive at pvr about 4.45. to anyone who has been to pefkos but not PVR, you turn right at Nicholas taverna and just follow the road round for about 5 mins.We were greeted by Dave who does the night shift reception (man 54 hrs ) who was very helpful in explain everything , i.e A/C, key , pool, bar etc. One thing you can do is ask for a second key ( credit card type ) so you can leave a/c on , charge camera batteries etc whilst you are out. So Dave takes us to our apartment which was a 2 bed, but on arrival it was more like a house. We had room 111 which has double bed with walk in cupboard, bathroom with seperate shower, bath with a shower as well as a good size sink, full size living room with single bed plus sofa that could sleep 2, dining table ,kitchen with fridge , freezer, toaster, microwave, teapot etc. Then you went up stairs when our son slepted and he had his own bathroom, sitting room with tv and two single beds plus balcony. Check out the photos that i have put on. So after packing and getting a few hours kip we ventured down to the pool , which was a good size. Now this is only going to the bit where i complain ( no fault off the complex ) , some people have said that is plenty of sun beds, well not really in august. This was due to the BRITS wo decide to go down at 8am and put their towels on and then leave them for 3 to 4 hours before the deicided to show face at the pool. This was sorted out when Kim ( bar man )took them all off one day, some people complained ( tough ) but it put a stop to it. Right back to the good parts, I have mention Kim who was a good bar man, then you Tsambikos who is the waiter (top guy and good for a laff i.e karoke ) then his older brother gabrillo who ran the bar at night who a great laff, also little brothe Skevos who works in the shop, you also have the chef manolis who is Kim's dad. We eat at the PVR for half our hols and could not fault the food for quality and price , also our other favorite taverna was Terpis which is in the centre of pefkos. My son and I spent a lot of time at Kavos beach which is about 5 mins away , not as big as the main beach which has the water sports etc, but a nice quiet beach. loungers were 4 euros each and a lot of beach to see ( specially if you take some bed ). We tried Kavos a couple of times , its a nice taverna but can get breezy ( food goes cold quicker) All in all it has been the best holiday with have had which was due to the complex but mainly the staff. Also every body who stayed there seem to mix well with each other, so Gary ,Patsy and sophie if you are reading this , it was a pleasure meeting you. I can go on a lot more but will leave it at that, so if any one has any question then please get in touch. Tony,Gill and Gavin from Carlisle p.s . i hope my photos come out ok.
Pefkos Village resort - Brilliant
Me and my husband stayed at the pefkos village for 1 week at the beginning of June 07. It was excellent. We arrived about 4 in the morning & were greeted by a english gentleman on reception who was lovely & showed us to our room & also gave us a free bottle of water. Our room 213 was at the back of the apartments but we didnt mind as it was so quiet & relaxed & also was a top floor (only 2 floors) We had booked a studio but were very happy when we received a 1 bedroom apartment which was definately excellent for the standards you normally get in Greece. It has a excellent private balcony with a nice table & wooden chairs. Also a clothes line to hang your clothes/washing. The kitchen was also quite large with even a single bed in it. We didnt use the kitchen as we like eating out, we only used the fridge. However there was no microwave in our room only a kettle, toaster, cooker & all the kitchen appliances you would need. I dont think much had been used. You were supplied with a tea towel, glasses, wine opener etc. In the bedroom we had a lovely dressing table with lots of drawers. There was a tv on here with quite a few english channels (free tv) also 2 spare sockets to use. There was also 2 dressing tables next to the beds & a wardrobe which had the safety deposit box in. There was air conditioning in the bedroom & the kitchen. We didnt pay for this as it was 70 euros for the week as we had 2 units. luckily the way the room was positioned we didnt need it. I only got hot when I was drying my hair !!! The prices of the air conditioning were for 1 unit - 40 euro a week & 70 euro for 2 weeks. If the room had 2 units it was 70 euro for 1 week and 130 euro for 2 weeks. The safety deposit box was 10 euro for 1 week & 16 euro for 2 weeks. You also pay a 30 euro deposit which you get back on return of the key. Maids came every day but a sunday, we had clean towels every day but the sunday & the bed was changed in the middle of the week too. The bathroom was also excellent. It has a lovely sink all built in, a bath with a shower over it & a shower curtain & was all tiled out lovely. The toilet was also nice. On the day we left we paid 25 euro to keep our room but unfortunately we had to swap to a different room. This room was on the ground floor which was even bigger than our room & as well as the shower over the bath also had a proper walk in shower with a glass door. We did still prefer our room though as it was more lighter & this room felt slightly damp. Think this would only be because it was the start of season & had not been used. The pool was georgeous it was a little cold but you soon got used to it & if you went to the beach like we did a couple of days you would notice it was a lot warmer than the see which was quite cold. The loungers around the pool were the best I'v used wooden with very thick white plastic coverings. There was also lots of shaded areas if you didnt want to be in the sun. We had lunch a few times at the hotel which was nice. The best things were the sandwich's and pasta. We did have a gyros one day which was a bit overcooked & one day we had a desert which wasn't the best as the ice cream on the bannana split was very bright & luminous !! It was ok though & the prices was very reasonable. I would recommend you get a large beer though if you get one as a large beer was about 3 euro but a small one was 3.20 euro so wasnt as much as a good deal. At the reception there is a book to write comments in which was nice. you can also swap books & there was quite a few to swap. There is a small supermarket at the apartments too which was a little more expensive than the normal one but it was so hot when we were there we couldnt be bothered to carry water, beer etc all the way from the supermarket which was over 5 min walk away. Also we did only buy drink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pefkos itself was lovely. The hotel was 10 to 15 min walk as people say to the centre but it is an ok walk & you do pass some restaurants on the way. The 2 hills you go up are only slight hills & take about 5 mins to get to the top. Once your there is is a straight road all the way to the centre. There is a few restaurants, bars at the top of the hill & when you turn right but the way to the centre is at the top & turn left. Our favourite restarant was the one st the top of this hill it was called Nicholas Taverna & done excellent starters, steaks & greek food. It was truly fabulous food. The waiters was also excellent. The other restaurant which we really liked was called Blue bay which was in the centre of the resort on the right hand side as you were walking into the resort. This one was excellent traditional food & very well priced with large portions. We found a fabulous beach about 5 mins from the apartments. You go up the hill to the 1st junction here you will turn left & will see signs for kavos beach & kavos restaurant. You go to the end of this road (SLIGHTLY DOWNHILL) & you find the restaurant 1st which was also very nice but the portions were small for the price. From here you go down to the beach. It is a steep hill but the beach was brilliant. It only take a minute to walk down it though. The beach wasn't tiny but also wasnt large. There was only enough room for 1 row of loungers and it was lovely & quiet & the sea & the beach was excellent. It cost us for 2 loungers & a umberella 7 euros which I though was ok as it was costing me 7 euro for only 1 lounger in italy last year. I would definately stay at the pefkos village again & also Pefkos. What I loved about it here was it was so relaxed not one person tried to get us in a bar or restaurant. Everyone was so friendly & lovely. Also I never seen 1 karaoke bar (may be one somewhere if you want it but we never seen one). We did go to Lindos one night & it was nice too, definately more expensive but also had a lot of very trendy bars which I though was quite unusual for being on holiday. I have added a few photos so you can see how lovely it is & would definately recommend this resort & apartments to anyone. (even if you have walking difficulties you could easily get a taxi for a couple of euros to the centre). The staff were always very helpful & friendly.
Loved it fantastic best place in Pefkos
I have added this review as there is so little about it. This complex is without a doubt the best in the whole resort. The only negative comment i can give is for anybody with walking difficulties as it might be a problem for them as there is a steep incline to manage when you go into the resort center which is 15 minutes walk away or to the restaurants at the top of the hill. The main beach is also 15 minutes walk away. You do have a closer beach within 50 meters but it is more a rubble filled dump than a beach. When i was there they put a few sunbeds on them which made me smile. Allthough it is a short distance into the resort i found that the quality of the studios and apartments more than made up for this. I would rather stay here as they were easily 4.5 star in quality and walk to the beach and restaurants ect. The pool area is also one of the best i have come across in greece with luxury padded wooden recliners plenty of shade for people that want it. It also has a bar and fantastic restaurant serving up a la carte if you want it. It is quite a quiet place though very relaxing.
Pefkos Village Resort Hotel
Just to let any potential visitors know......this is an excellent hotel / apartment. Was only completed in July, and it is owned by the same folk who own the Matinas. This is geared more towards adults / older children. Be warned that it is a bit of a hike, particularly if you walk down to Pefkos between 11am and 3pm when the heat is scorching, but it is worth it. I have already posted a review on the Forum pages as I know some people couldn't work out where in Pefkos it was. We love Pefkos and have now made 5 trips there. It is becoming more developed but still retains it's charm. There are some fantastic places to eat, The Enigma and Nostalgia are good, although the food we got at Pefkos Village was just as good and a lot cheaper. The Kalari (bar on the road to the beach) has been done up and now has a lovely pool and bar area. Yanni is a great host and keeps everything immaculate. I would definitely recommend visiting in September,it is a bit quieter, and just as hot. We will definitely be visiting again!
