Pefkos Village Resort Hotel Reviews
" I recently stayed at the Pefkos... "
Submitted By: Miss HL Wyld
I recently stayed at the Pefkos Village Resort with my boyfriend.
Having previously stayed in Pefkos (but at the Marianthi), we knew what to expect from the resort itself.
When booking we were intending to try and rebook at the Marianthi, however the prices were really high and therefore we looked elsewhere. After reading excellent reviews of the Pefkos Village resort, and its low prices we decided to book.
We were welcomed on arrival in the middle of the night by the manager who gave us a refrigerated 2ltr bottle of water and he showed us to our room. We were given a 1 bed room apartment, instead of the studio we booked.
The room was excellent: 2 single beds (but they were easily pushed together), bed-side cabinets, dressing table, and wardrobe. The bathroom had small bath with shower, toilet, and large sink. The kitchen area had an extra bed, and dining table, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, and cupboards which were stocked with rockery should you wish to cook.
The whole apartment was spotless, my only gripe was that they didn't seem to mop the floors the whole time we were there and this brought in a few ants, but they didn't particularly bother us.
The window in the bathroom had mesh on it, which allowed us to keep it open and not let flies in at night while the lights were on - this meant we got a lot of air in the room as we didn't pay for aircon- but this was available.
The hotel pool, bar, restaurant and shop were all excellent too. There was also the availability for internet access.
Pefkos itself is a wonderful resort with a beautiful sandy beach. However, this was quite a walk from the hotel, and especially the walk back is uphill (if you take the Philosophia shortcut). You can take a shortcut through the gardens of the Philosophia (an excellent little restaurant for lunch when on the beach) which is signposted from the main road which means that you don't have to walk down to the main beach road and you enter the beach at its best point. You do have to get there quite early to get a sunshade, one day we arrived at 11.30 and there were none left.
Overall an excellent holiday. I couldn't say this was better than the Marianthi as they were both excellent. But if I went again I'd go to whichever was cheapest!

" What a welcoming sight coming in from... "

What a welcoming sight coming in from grey England - beautifully lit pool, palm trees, the open bar and friendly Gabriel.
David met us at Reception and escorted us to a large apartment giving us all a helpful run down of the Pefkos Village Resort - shop, restaurant and bar opening times, pool etiquette and how to get electricity in the room (and in the hairdryer in the bathroom - what a luxury!).
The rooms were very large - kitchenette with fridge, microwave and hot plate and equipment and a very large veranda to chill out in the early evenings after a taxing day at the pool or sightseeing.
The slight slope to get to the main road encourages you to get fitter - and the 15-20 minute stroll into town and the main beach - but it is much easier downhill on the way back (or the taxi rank at the main Lindos junction).
Alternatively Reception were exceedingly accommodating by calling a taxi to take you in.
You are also in easy driving distance to many of the other resorts (Lindos very nice for gift shopping) and the main roads around the island. If you don't want to make the effort to go into the main strip of an evening then you have a choice of walking to one of the local Tavernas - Kavos Beach Taverna at the top of the beach (small cove with sunbeds - not easily accessible to people with walking difficulties but very pleasant), Nikolas or Eleni - all with very nice food and local soft drinks and wines. Would definitely recommend eating at the Resort too - the food was excellent throughout the day and Kip and Gabriel made the best lattes on the island - recommend the Kleftiko although you may have to book it in the day before as it is very popular and our waiter Tsambikos was always a pleasure to talk to.
The hotel puts on entertainment for guests - the bbq came highly recommended and you have the option of joining in karaoke too! All the guests were friendly and there was a complete mix of families, the four singing Scottish women, couples, and singles.
All in all it was a very nice change from reality back home, the whole family were very friendly, and we would definitely recommend the resort to anyone interested in visiting Pefkos.

" A fantastic holiday we only wished we... "
Submitted By: Ms J Parkes
A fantastic holiday we only wished we had booked 2 weeks instead of one. We are a couple of fun loving girls! In our early forties, looking for sun, sea, good restaurants and a comfortable place in which to relax and chill.
The accommodation is amazing the pool area, bar and restaurant are wonderfully furnished and designed. Surrounded by Bougevillea, olive trees and offering peace and quiet for most of the day it was an effort to leave the complex.
Pefkos is a 15/20 minute walk away although there is a small beach nearby you must be able to tackle hills comfortably or take taxis. The weather is hotter here than in the Rhodes town and with Lindos on your doorstep there is never a shortage of things to do.
We benefitted from an opening deal of £125 each but would certainly pay more for the wonderful service and surroundings.
Have fun.
