Minas Apartments

The island of crete is nice but the minas apartments are-well where do u want me to start,maybe the fact that it is not scotland friendly and if you do not speak to or spend money in the apartments you might aswell be invisible.If you want to enjoy yourselves maybe you should go in august/september as the minas apartments only had old people or people with babies and when you went down to the pool during the day you had to be very,very quiet as some of the holiday makers had there babies down at the pool and you felt that you had to tiptoe every where i felt like everyone was talking about us as soon as we were out of earshot i looked forward to this holiday and i can safely say that the only time i enjoyed myself was when i was away from the minas apartments,please don't be put off crete but do not go to the minas apartments to stay as your holiday will be more enjoyable.

the first night we arrived we were dissapointed the appartments didnt look anything like the brochure we were took 2 the back of the appartments asked where our room was and we got showed in 2 something like a bedsit. the first afternoon marie and stephen seemed friendly then we spoke 2 another guest they told us if we didnt spend money in their bar/snackbar they wouldnt entertain you. we went a walk down hte harbour came back 2 the appatments and had a refreshment in their bar 3 vodkas and cola 15 euro we thought was ok after a journey 2 our appartment 4 refreshments we sat on the balcony listening 2 the music from the bar till 1am. next day thomas cook rep chapped our door with a complaint from 1 of the guests saying how rowdy we were the night before which we objected 2 as we were in our beds be 4 them and their was still music coming from the bar when we retired 2 bed. we explained 2 the rep tht we were in our bed when the music was still on going at the bar. we went 2 the swimming pool tht day and none of the guest seem 2 be friendly towards us. we tried our best as us scots do to enjoy our holiday but the next morning after a good night we got a knock at the door from the thomas rep once again saying tht we were arguing in our room the night b4 but as a was sharing a room with my sister and young daughter we assured the rep tht we were talking and wouldnt b arguing with my sister. unfortunately this whole incident spoiled our vacation in crete and we wont b returning back their for another holiday. we think these appartments are for the older generation and wouldnt recommend familys or young people. theirs one thing we wont ever be back at the minas appartments.

We have returned from a great 2 weeks at the Minas Appartments in Hersonissos, Maria and all of her family, are just the right kind of crazy to make sure you really enjoy yourself. Everyone we met was really friendly, and many of the couples have stayed here for a good few years, Weare already trying to re-book for next year, but may be dissapointed as Manos flights have been changed. Some people compalin about the appartments, I say get a life ours was clean well maintained an everything you need.
To all we met, Wayne & Chris, Sue & Paul, Debbs & Billy, Shane, Stuart and many more, thanks for making our holiday a great one.
To Minas and Maria, we hope to see you again.

My husband & I Have just returned from a two week stay at the Minas Apartments, arriving in the early hours, we were shocked to find the bathroom dirty and full of flies. The following morning proved no better with the balcony proving to be a walk through for three other apartments and it being open to the stairwell. Noise was a major problem with people returning to appartments after a night out constantly passing our door, bathroom noise then followed for the 15 minutes and being in the lower apartment we heard every rush of water and flush of the toilet.
If anyone else started to shower while we were using the shower the water would come back up through the floor drain, we were constantly mopping up the floor.
The linen was clean and the bed small but acceptable, the kitchen was very basic and had no bowl or plug for the sink, nothing to wash fruit and salad and no bowls making self catering difficult. We had to purchase a colander and mugs.
The price of food was very high 3.5 euros for a jar of jam, or half a pound of butter.
Many people complained to Maria or the rep and had little joy. If you want a holiday in the sun where you will be out partying all night this may be the place for you.

stayed at the Minas appartments for two weeks in early october.The appartments are basic but very clean what do you expect for a two week holiday in Crete it would cost more for two nights in London.Minas and Maria treated us like one of the family,My wife and I wanted to go to the City of Heraklion and to our suprise their son Steffan took us in his own car and picked us up when we were ready to come back.The other guest were great thats if you want to mix in thats up to you .Allways a smile when you comeback from a trip .Rooms were cleaned every two days with fresh towles provided .Steffan even took myself and two other male guests out for a meal up in the hills .Made some good friends willbe going back next year.
