i would 100% go back

Iam laughing at all the bad comments made about this hotel, about zack, the hotel its self etc etc. This has got to be the best hotels i have stayed in, yeah the rooms are only basic but your in malia. All in all this hotel is great, theres cctv everywhere you look so your safe, and the pool area is the best one i have seen in malia, good size pool, plenty off sunbeds, pool, music, internet, ping pong, computer games. As for the food, its the best food i have had in malia, elvis is a great chef, you have got to have the chicken wings there the best i have ever tasted, and its not expensive. The bar staff are great, nice and polite and a great laugh. As for this stuff about zack beats you up or whatever, its rubbish, he has got to be one off the nicest guys i have met. Hes a great laugh around the pool, he even joined in when we was playing drinking games at night, as for the rest off the bar staff. The only time i seen him lose his rag with someone, was when some people arrived and one off them decided to throw his suitcase in the pool (he was drunk), when zack was cleaning it, would you be happy if someone done that?. So yes i would 100% go back to this hotel.

Worst holiday ever
1 / 10
Feb 2009, hbangs

Me and a friend went there for our summer holiday for a week, both 19yrs old. The hotel itself was ok, the hotel manager was awful- we repeatedly saw several holiday makers including some girls beaten in the street by the manager and his 'mates.' At night it isnt safe to walk back to the hotel alone as yoou never knew who was waiting. When we were there one of the reps put in for a transfer as she couldnt stand the abuse from him anymore. Its not a safe hotel at all, and no one has control over him- the police werent bothered either. Apparently he even held a gun to a couple of the holiday makers head.
We tried to get a flight home mid week however we couldnt. I wouldnt ever go back here, and wouldnt recomend anyone to book a holiday there! It was terrible.

Don't Listen To Bad Reviews!

Jan 2009, nicolaian

Ok first of all, don't go to malia if you dont like basic hotels.
This was the best holiday of my life and most of the memories are from Oasis. The Oasis is one of the best places to stay in MAlia. I have been to Malia 5 times now and have visited alot of different hotels and their pools. Believe me, Oasis has the best pool in Malia. It's the biggest pool around for ages. The atmosphere is amazing, the music is great, the bar is good and the food is fine.
It is in an amazing location, about 500metres to the beach but trust me, u will never want to go to the beach after experiencing the atmosphere round the pool. The beach is crammed with sunloungers, can't move, its dirty, the staff scam you as soon as u walk on the beach and its not pleasant at all.
It is about a 2 minute walk to the good bars, i recommend starting at the bottom of the strip, Zoo Bar is really good.
Ok so all hotels in malia dont like you bringing guests back to your room, they'l try and charge yoou 50 euros. the best thing to do is to walk in separately or the best idea is to simply make friends with as many guests at the pool as possible and all go out together, that way no one can be refused entry back into the hotel! thats what we did and there would be about 40 of us all meet at the first bar around midnight.
Ok with regards to the hotel, it is basic, but what do you expect for staying with club18-30???
oasis is highly recommended and if you cant manage to get booked up here then still come round during the day, the pools atmosphere is amazing!

Look i am not someone who likes to complain but this was hands down the worst place i have ever stayed in. don't get me wrong malia is awesome me and my pals had a great holiday it was just ruined mainly by the staff of the hotel. Yes the hotel was basic but i expected that it wasn't the cleanest place but that did not bother me. what really bothered me was that its an 18-30 holiday we should be allowed to do what ever we want within reason in our rooms without the security gaurd coming up punching my pals when we are having a talk a laugh and a drink. I am not 9 and don't need someone telling me to go to bed i will go bed when i want to. One night we were drinking in our room the security guard came up told us to go to bed we said no he punched my pal and we were thratend with being thrown out 3 days into the holiday for him punching my mate if we didn't have a great rep peachy we would have been out hands down worst staff. We had a great time with no thanks whats so ever to the village oasis staff.

Sep 2008, Miss Chloe Dyment

i have just come back from a 2 week holiday at oasis village apts i can not belive some of the comments on here about plp complaining about almost everything the rooms were very clean food was to die for elvis is the top cook in malia pool was clean everyday and the hospitality off zack and his staff was very good the dog was not neglected as plp have said it is a known thing in greece that you do not take your own drink round the pool at anyones apts.reps were great never forced us in to anything.these are the safest apts i have ever stayed in security cameras everywhere and security guards at night to make you feel safe.i have been to malia for many years and these are the best ones. everything is perfect and so relaxing. and the cleaner is not a thief as someone has commented above. i am 18 and been coming 15 years to malia and its the best place and zack is a good man.towels arnt provded because plp ruin them that why you pay deposit.

I don't understand why everyone is...

Sep 2008, Miss S Illsley

I don't understand why everyone is giving such terrible comments! Yes the hotel was basic..but it was somewhere to put your head down an sleep.. I did have a crappy 4th floor room with the same door to go in and out..and my balcony consisted of 2 broken chairs..a dirty table and railings..but to be honest it just made us laugh!! If we'd have wanted 5 star accomodation.we would have booked it! I think the location of the hotel is lovely...not far from the strip but far enough if u wanted to stay in at night noise free...and it was nice to see the little village and the local people are so sweet.. Zach and Andreas are not deserving of horrible names, they are simply askin for respect for themselves and the hotel..I found them both quite funny :) The most annoyin thing was that there wasnt a lift to the 4th floor...had to stop every floor for a fag break :) but all in all the crappy things about the hotel just made the holiday more comical...

After reading the reviews on this...
4 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr M Martin

After reading the reviews on this site, I was sure I was going on holiday to Iraq rather than Greece. But let me say this. Every word is TRUE.
When we arrived waiting at reception we were warned by 2 seperate groups that the the hotel owners were "charge happy". We were advised to take photos of our room and report breakages from the start or else the staff will charge the life out of you. They will refuse to give you back your passport and call the police on you. I saw the police arrive to take away 1 group who refused to pay for a torn bed sheet.
The room itself was a mess. Broken furniture, blood stained bed sheets and filthy toilets. They do not provide towels or toilet paper, something that the brouchers do not mention. Towels can be rented for 20 euros, though I wouldnt bother as they are filthy. The cleaners - when they bother to show up, only lightly dust around the floor. The do not give you fresh sheets. The barge in, even if you tell them you are not decent.
The hotel is like a zoo, 2 girls were moved from their floor because of the noise - only for us to discover that they were the ones making the noise. Screaming all day and night into a mega phone! People banging on doors all night, going to the toilet and making relations in the corridor in view of everyone that walks past. Vile.
The 18-30 rep was rude and ignored us all. He was to busy chatting up girls. He admitted to us that he threw out a group of 10 lads simply because they refused to do any excersusions.
I didnt see any violence, but I heard screams through out the night and was told the next day people were being tasered for making to much noise. You are not allowed to bring bottled water to the pool side, if you do the bar lady screams abuse at you through a micro phone and threatens you with violence.
This was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

After reading everyone else's...
10 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr D Mooncie

After reading everyone else's comments i was really sceptic about what to expect. But after the best week ever i realise what a moaning lot everyone really is! I went out in a party of 3 lads and stayed in the village oasis area and had sucha good holiday (only gettin back about 24hrs ago!) there were a few pointers that were made on other comments and I'll clarify them with my own opinion:
1. distance from the strip....in my eyes it was perfect. U were far enough so that u cud get some sleep and dint have loads of music blaring all night long, but it took u 3-5 mins to get right into the action. the walk back was fine as well, just dont walk around by urself (which is just common sense, not a reflection of malia).
2. violent hotel workers.... Zach is the nicest guy, helpful and friendly. all this talk of them being greek mafia and everyone gettin beaten up for the slightest thing is a load of rubbish in my eyes. All the guards asked is that u were quiet when u came to ur hotel (and if it's 5-6am, kind of only fair for other guests) and paying 50 euros to bring someone back is Cretan policy, not just Malia! besides...it doesnt apply to people in the hotel...so dont feel like ur gonna miss out too much ;)
3. general hotel... pool was just what u wanted...music, loads of sun throughout the whole day (no big buildings blockin it really at any point) the food was fine in my eyes, and the drinks were reasonable just not dirt cheap. no complaints what so ever.
all in all, fantastic holiday. room was more than adequately sized with all the obvious amenities for a self-catering place...air con was a real luxury as well, well worth investing in.
i would recommend this holiday and resort to anyone who's lookin for a week of sun, fun and everything else that comes with an 18-30's holiday. cant wait for the reunion in November!!!!
peace

This must be the worst accomodation i...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss M Tonner

This must be the worst accomodation i have ever stayed in! The rooms were mucky, the walls covered in black marks and were very thin. We had to buy our own toilet roll and the toilet seat wouldnt even stay up! We had to pay a deposit of 10 euro for a towel! The pool bar was a rip off, the food was the worst in malia and a 25cl bottle of water was 1.5 euro!! The swimming pool was also disgusting, visable black grit in the bottom as it was never cleaned. There was also a german shepherd, which didnt do any harm only because it was tied to a tree behind the apartment block all week and was never attended to, the poor thing. I am not usually one to complain but i have been to Greece 5 times in the last 2 years, 3 times to Malia and have never experienced anything as rotten as village oasis!!!

helloooo
well i have just returned after a mad week in Malia and i jst re read sum of the comments that previous guests haave put and to b honest that is a load of crap... village oasis was well nice...we had a large pool a cheap restaurant and dead nice staff apart from the **** behind the desk but there we go u cant always win... the staff r so helpful and dacko the cleaner was ace!!! he was a total sport, u pushed him in the pool he loved it, he cleaned the pool weneva u asked he picked up ur rubbish and if u had any problems with men he was dead stong wooop woop!!!! zak the owner is a bit stuck up but learn abita greek n u soon get on the gud side of him, antonio the bar man is hilarous and if u flirt u getta free shot:)
the reps were crap and they made me laugh becuz she was like im here 2 giv u a gud time excpet every day she hasseled us 4 money but tell em wehere 2 stick it n they leave u alone... keep ur room tydy and the maid loves u and she ensures ur room is cleaned on a regular basis which is essential in the bathroom...(especially 4 girls with makeup and hair EVERYWHERE)
yeah they moan if ur music is 2 loud but so wot just leave it and do as they say...request a 2nd floor balcony or a back balcony so u can drink on them or zak moans but ahhh well...
the strip was a 5min walk n i loved it becuz u cud hav a right laugh with ur m8z etcc...and jordan the secruity guard walks up with u if u wnt him 2 that is & he is not a weirdoo lol!
