The hotel is centrally located for beach, bars, restaurants and clubs. Rooms are clean and a good size. Breakfast was an added bonus.
Whilst I stayed there with my kids, the holidaymakers were very friendly and a birthday party was organised by one of the holidaymakers at the Funda Restaurant next door, with belly dancing and breakdancers....it was great!!
Would definitely go back to the Horizon Hotel again and again....
Was given a business card by the owners, but the email address on it is incorrect. Have been trying to contact them regarding a lost bag which we think was left next to the reception desk on the day of our departure.
My family, Angela, Melissa and Joshua Seager have returned from a two week holiday. We stayed in Room 307 at the Horizon Hotel. We departed on Saturday 2 August 2008 at approx 18.45hrs and have tried to contact the Horizon Hotel via email on numerous occasions but the email address on the business card is incorrect.
When we arrived at Bodrum airport, my son Joshua realised that he did not have his Umbro bag containing a PSP console, some DVDs, games, and other items.
We informed the First Choice Representative on the transfer coach that my son had lost his bag and the First Choice Representative suggested we contact the hotel by email to ask whether you have found a bag in the hotel. The bag had the word UMBRO, is grey in colour, on it and was next to the reception desk.
Please email me and let me know if you have found the bag. The PSP console was a Christmas gift and my son is very upset to lose this.
Kind Regards
Angela Seager

holiday was so bad the staff were all pedos & the bar man tried to feel up my younger daughter they men also stair at all the girls in the pool . i ate my ice lolly by the pool and got banned from the pool , the rooms are very unclean & the sheets had sperm stains on them not good at all for young children , i would not reccomend it to anyone .
the main road is also very noisey & keeps you up all night , the staff were very unfriendly and tried to through a young child in the pool for fun , they all sit behind the reception and drink alchahol , one of the girls that works behind the bar is also a partime prostite .
IT SOOO BADDDDDDDDDDDD !!

I went to the horizon hotel with my mam, brother, sister, their 2 friends, my partner and my daughter. i thought it was brilliant, the staff were really friendly, one night they had a special turkish themed night which was really enjoyable, although we had a power cut due to a storm on the first night it was great except when there was a stray bag on the road and the police had to come and blow it up for safety reasons ha ha overall it was fun and i would definately go back

Altinkum is a lovely friendly resort, we've been over 12+ times and it’s brilliant. The beaches are lush and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. We love the resort because it’s so sunny and friendly, we have lots of friends, lots whom we've known for nearly 10years.
I go with my family every year, the last three times we have stopped in the Horizon. Cheap, basic clean accommodation. Breakfasts are very typically Turkish. Lovely though.
Really close to the beach, central location. Can't beat it really. Most hotels around that area will offer you the same accommodation as it’s very typically Turkish. Don't expect 5 star luxury because you won't get it wherever you stay. It’s clean, tidy and staff are okay.
I go with my grandparents and have English friends who live out there and I usually go out at night and come in about 1am. However, I get locked out most nights, even though it’s meant to be open 24hours, they have 24 hour staff but they like sleeping and lock the door, which leaves me actually having to get my grandparents up!
Also there are mini fridges in the room; however you get charged ridiculous amounts of money for using this privilege! Also you can’t take food in, so you can’t have a cup of tea, but they have no right to look through your bags, so sneak it in.
Overall, nice place. As I say improvements in staff and pool would make this hotel better. But don't knock the resort, its lush!

Basic accommodation 2 star not 3 star as rated, not child friendly and pool very dangerous (have taken photos for travel agents).
No food or drink allowed in, kids have to eat ice lollies on busy main road. Bags checked to see if bringing in those items
Dolmus main stop right outside, noise 24/7. Breakfast basic, okay for us adults, no fruit juice for kids, but can buy at bar, will get cornflakes Tuesdays and Fridays.
Cleaning okay, family run hotel as friendly as the Mafia, adults throwing each other into the pool, regardless of kids already in there.
Grandchild of owner eating ice creams, while other kids having to eat outside. Staff throwing boiling hot water over local dogs, very upsetting. Poor regard for English girls, even the respectable ones. Not able to get on the beach, Turkish get there for 6.45am.
Would make good club 18-30, its like Falaraki. We are not oldies, and enjoy a good time, have been to turkey 7 times and loved it, its a pity we had to rate the Horizon as it warrants a big fat 0, some incidents that happened we cant put on this site. Single girls beware.

My partner and I went to the Horizon this Aug. The hotel was less than adequate, the rooms were small and we constantly had power cuts to the air con and lights. The hotel is situated on the main road so it is very noisy, the pool is very very small with about 6 sun loungers next to it so you need to go to the beach to relax. The staff in the hotel are pushy and "over friendly", especially the night time bar man who thinks it is ok to grope the guests. The resort of Altinkum is dirty, fag stumps and rubbish all round the street and beach. The bars have the worst break dancers I have ever seen (but if you go you'll have a laugh at them) and they constantly pester you to drink and eat in their bars, once you are in they then sit at your table! Basically if you are going for a relaxing time DO NOT go, change the holiday, after this experience I don't think I will ever go back to Turkey.

Just got back from spending the week here and what a disaster. The lady that owns the hotel is unbeliveable rude, she does not acknowledge any of the english, the night staff are creeps and the guy and woman that work on reception during the day are so ignorant. They only want to know you if your spending money at the hotel (ie) buying there drinks or food. which are extremely expencive! when your not buying they want to know why and constantly question you as to why your not! the pool is a joke stupidly small and u cant relax as everytime you look up you can see the bar staff perving on you! the noise from outside is ridiculous especially on a night and it goes on all night! you cant take food or drink into the hotel even though they all do and its boiling. you also have to pay £40per week for the air con but nobody will tell you that untill you get there and lets be honest in 42degree heat your gonna need air con! on are last day they told us we had to pay 50 lira which is £20 for using there towels, some service charge! other english people at the hotel told us this was rubbish, so after questioning them again they made up some lie about how 2 of the towels were dirty they had makeup on them!! makeup washes off, and noway on this planet would 2 towels cost £20! and to top it all off the bathroom was covered in flying ants! I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN YOU COULDNT PAY ME TO STAY IN THIS DREADFUL EXCUSE OF A HOTEL!
