We have just returned from the Dilek apartments and a fabulous holiday. I went with my 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend and my 15 year old son. Cheap and basic accomodation but very clean and we only use our rooms to sleep, shower and change anyway. Lovely clean swimming pool and never a problem getting a sunbed. Location is perfect, just a couple of minutes from the very lively Bar Street and shops but no noise problem at night. But the difference between this being a good holiday and a fabulous holiday was the hotel staff. So friendly and very hard working and always time to chat and have a laugh with you. We intend to keep in touch via email, feel like we made some real friends. We would all be happy to return as soon as we can afford to. Would highly recommend it to anyone, singles, couples of any age and families with children of any age as there is something for everyone. Many of the guests were Turkish people which is always a good sign in my opinion.

WOW what can i say... this was only the best holiday of my life!!
This was my third year in Turkey but my first year in Gumbet it was fantastic.
The Dilek is situated in a great location as it is away from the nightlife if you want a quiet night but you can walk into the nightlife it you want to.
The rooms at the Dilek are very basic but very very clean, they get clean every 2 days but if you need any fresh towels or you have a problem just see Mustafa on reception and he will sort it for you. Safety deposit boxes are also available for a charge of £10 and they is a charge of £25 per room per week for air conditioning but this is a must have.
The waiters are great they make your holiday always talking to you but not hassling you like you find with some of the waiters in the other restaurants. Big shout out to Ozzy (aka Tom Cruise in Cocktail), Shaun, Eddy, Apo and TK who treated us as part of their family and made our holiday and didn't pressure us into staying at the hotel for meals they would recommend different restaurants even though we ate their nearly every lunch time and a few evenings as the food was great. The food prices in the hotel are reasonable and drink prices too it was 5 lira for a large beer and about 9 lira for a vodka but their single vodka is a triple.
The Dilek is in a ideal place only 10 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minute walk to the main nightlife which we went to most nights with the waiters from the hotel. The best bars to go to is Skakers and X Bar they are fantastic.
The restaurants that I would recommend are The Red Dragon, Uncle Feaster, Minstral and the Columbia Steak House (which is just alon from the Dilek) and if you fancy a good old english breakfast then Zest Restaurant which is just over the road from the Dilek is great.
I would highly recommend the Dilek hotel to anyone who is visting Gumbet and I just can't wait for 2009 I will be booking up soon!

went this hotel in august 2006 and loved it thought the staff were great, loved the location and great hotel, hence the reason why we went back in june 2008.
This time though was not as good hotel still very good and clean, but the staff had changed and were no where near as good as last time. found one member of staff to be quiet rude and even though we ate their three or four times throughout are stay and would often buy drinks and snacks every day, we were still pressured into eating there every night. the food is good and cheap dont get me wrong but they did not like it if you wanted to try somewhere else to eat. let's face it if you on holiday you want to try different places not stay at the hotel all the time. I love turkey as a place but would not go back to the hotel again.

What a perfect location!!This was my first time in turkey and didnt know what to expect-me and my friend went to the hotel and the staff are very freindly and will go out of their way to help.there is one member of staff who loves the ladies, but if you just ignore him its fine. The rooms are basic, but it what we paid for and air-con is a must-but chargeable. The food is lovely and the drinks are reasonable (thought they were dear until we went to bodrum 30lira for 2 cocktails!!)If you go out you must go to Atlantis bar and Carl (liverpool lad)is very nice and friendly and drinks are cheaper too-if you haggle! Not the best place for an 18 and 21yr old girl though as the men just dont stop hassleing you!Would reccomend for families and couples as staff are lovely and in great location...ENJOY YOUR STAY xx

WOW what can i say... only the BEST HOLS EVA.....
every year,we try to go to different countreys, this year we went to turkey, and for the first time in years we are going back the following year. so sertain of going back we booked the hols the day we came back,
the rooms were basic but very clean, the pool was also very clean and not too cold to jump in (which was ideal really due to the fact the waiters kept throwing you in). the waiters eddy, musty, apo, jengis and sean treated us as part of their family, we were not made to feel we had to stay at the bar for our meals, if anything they would recomend elswere if we wanted. but the food was so great and cheap we stayed there most nights. the apartment were in an ideal area, just a few minutes from the beach and night life,. the bar across the road was also with friendly staff..... i highly recomend the dilek to anyone

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dilek. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great position, not too far to the beach, and not too far from the rest of the bars and restaruants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in Gumbet. We got no hassle to eat at the hotel each evening, but we did have a couple of drinks each night and a sandwich for lunch, It was nice in the evenings as we went the first week of the season, it was quiet, so we could sit and talk to the waiters, it was great to get some insight into their lives.

Spent two weeks at the Dilek, if you are looking for basic, clean, friendly hotel this is it, close to the beach, shops, bars, not too near the bars, so quiet at night, nice garden-pool, closed off part for the kids, staff very friendly and helpful.
Can go there on the local bus, get the bus to Bodrum bus station then get another back again, takes about 40 mins to get there from Gumbet, stunning views.
You can walk over to rabbit island (water only two foot deep )the rabbits are so tame they will eat out of your hand so take some bread, the views from the top are stunning.
Also some nice restaurants there, had some excellent meals in Gumbet, the Columbia just across the road from the Dilek, fabulous steaks there, also the mistral on the beach.
The Casablanca also had some excellent food there, great staff very entertaining; hope to go back next year!!

My family and I have stayed at this Hotel 3-4 times, We love it! Yes it is basic, but its clean and the location is fantastic!! It's situated in the heart of Gumbet, But not too near to the nosie of the loud clubs and bars. It is a family run Hotel, who never forget you. The chef is superb, he cooks a variety of dishes, curries, fish etc (try the pizzas....fab!) I reccommend this Hotel to young(we are in our late 20's and our son is 9) and old as it's lively for youngish parents like us, safe for the children as they can be watched well as the Hotel is compact and the pool has a small childs section...and for the elderly as there is not many stairs and not far to walk to the town. Muzzy the head bar man speaks excellent english and is a true gentleman. I have since returned to Turkey twice yearly, But as this Hotel is now very popular the prices are too high....So we we pay for a cheaper Hotel, But we spend the day/evening at the Dilek!!!It has a family feel to it and we shall be returning there for many years to come....THANK YOU DILEK!!!!!!!!
