We very much enjoyed our room and service at Yıldız Hotel. We felt like a prince and princess there. Everything was top-notch. The owners and staff make you feel really relaxed and at home.Rooms were very nice and clean. The beach and the pool very relaxing. The service excellent.
Food served for breakfast was of exquisite quality .
Would highly recommend the Swissotel for romantic getaways for couples .

My sister and i stayed at the Yildiz hotel for 2 weeks and we thought the staff and indeed the family who run the business are the most professional and caring people we have ever encountered on our travels . The manager is a young English gentleman with a terrific sense of humour and always willing to help guests with any problems and lots of info on places to go visit and enjoy . The food at the hotel is wonderful and you will find that it compares very favourably with other restaurants in town , ie. quality and cost. The rooms are fairly basic but kept to a very high standard of cleanliness, i could find no fault and indeed i have stayed at 3 star hotels which did not have the Yildiz's high standards. One minute from hotel is the greatest nightlife so location is perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone intending to visit Gumbet.

This is the worst accomodation I have stayed at in my life. I can only guess that the previous reviews were written by the staff or people were paid to fabricate their opinions.
The rooms were scruffy and dingy, the furniture had peoples names carved in them!! the view from the "balcony" was the side wall of the other block of rooms. The toilet seat was broken...almost hanging off...despite being reported, this was never mended.
The towels provided were so old they were frayed and grey in colour....and were as hard as sand paper.
The bedding was only changed once a week. The general state of the building was in a very poor state, it was NOT cleaned on a regular basis, lights were not working in the halls and entrance, there were no parasols around the pool and when I asked for one, i was told there were none available......they are on the photos???
This is NOTHING like the photos in the book or on the web site.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Arriving at 04.30 we went down for breakfast at 10.30 but the breakfast had finished at 10.00 so my friend ordered the "turkish breakfast" and was charged £5.00 for this....no allowance or exception was made for early morning arrivals. On several days, the breakfast was clearded away by 09.50 and people arriving after this time were told they were too late!!!
We noticed that a group of people were ordering toast, so one day we did too, along with others....the following day we asked for toast again only to be told that this would be charged extra...we declined to have toast....however, 2 old ladies were not told about the extra charge and were later given a bill for 14 lira (£7.00) for 4 pieces of toast!!!
The prices for food and drinks at this establishment was almost double the prices to anywhere else within 2 minutes walking distance.......needless to say, we did not eat or drink at the YILDZ....and consequently....we were totally ignored by the staff and owners. We took a travel kettle to use in our room and were "caught" carrying 2 litres of water to the room and got "told off" for not buying it from them.!
When we were out in the town, if we were asked by Turkish people where we were staying...the minute we said the YILDZ......they passed a derogotary remark....it is clear that this hotel has a very bad reputation...this is not a 3 star, in fact I would not even give this half a star....very, very poor.
I would never recommend this Hotel to a worst enemy...this is the pits!!!!!!

I went last year with 2 other girlfriends and we stayed for 2 weeks and loved it. The hotel was smaller than we thought but it was lovely, there was always sunloungers free, a nice pool which was cleaned everyday, and the food was really good too with a lovely chef who was always happy to cook for you whatever the time. All the staff were fantastic, really friendly and welcoming and was always more than happy to accomdate any needs you had. The room was on the small side for 3 people sharing with just 1 big waredrobe but we managed! there was always hot water and the rooms were cleaned everyday.
The hotel is just off the main strip of bars and resturants which was really handy as you didnt have far to walk at night. The clubs were really good and somenights we would walk onto the beach where it was resturant after resturant and we had a lovely meal on the beach surrounded with candles and comfy seating. Id advise you to have a night out in Bodrum too which is great for the market and posh resturants. Overall we loved Turkey/Gumbet but we all agreed that we would proberly return to Turkey with our boyfriends next time as the Turkish men can be pests and annoy you! I would deffinately advise people to stay at the Yildiz as you wont be let down!!

Having stayed at this hotel with my partner as our first holiday together I have to say I was most pleased. It is not a big or fancy hotel but rather family run and very friendly. Just off a side street, yet minutes from the shops and beach it has a great location.
The pool area and bar area are small as are the rooms but its all you need. The food was very pleasant and the chef, a friendly man indeed, would cook you anything at any time. The area itself was decent, and the bars surrounding very atmospheric.
All in all, I would class this holiday as a good time had by all. We are returning to Gumbet this week, although at another hotel. If you are thinking about the Yildez, then I would say give it a go. You won't regret it.

just arrived back from gumbet this mornin, i have to say i always said i would never go to turkey, but after this week spent there i have converted and am already looking for holidays for next summer.
i went with my friend for the week, the hotel was very basic but i only paid for somewhere to sleep and shower so that didn't bother me at all. the pool is quite small but there is plenty of loungers and places to sit in the shade. the only bad thing id say about this hotel is not being able to book late check-out. i arrived at 8am on sunday morning, i went to see about late check-out on the tuesday and was told to come back the following sunday when i was leaving on the saturday. i went back to ask again on the wednesday to be told the hotel was full and there were no rooms available. speaking to people around the pool i then found out that they had been booking late check-out until the friday.
