i have just come back from there and it was terrible the food was constantly the same for the two weeks i went there out of all the staff 3 were nice the rest were rude, arrogent and disrepectful. the staff were willing to help but in there own time i had to miss dinner which wasnt such a bad thing but i was waiting for 2 hours for them to sort the door out because it wouldnt lock. there were ants in the bed so before we wanted to go to sleep we had scwish all the ants in our bed.the russians are rude and arrogent but some of the germans aint. hardly any of the staff speak english and if ur waiting at the bar be prepared to wait while they serve all the russians and germans before u. when i went thomas cook didnt tell us that the hotel was closing so for the last week when we were by the pool all you could see and hear was the staff and builders bangging and chucking things. the best things about this holiday was the beach and the pools. if u are looking for a holiday and ur spending money DONT COME HERE ITS NOT WORTH IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

At first I made a terrible mistake. First I booked the hotel and then I read reviews. A nightmare. I strongly advice against it. So, I did not change the arrangment and simply went for it. The hotel is well kept, clean and everything works. If it doesn't, there is a team of technicians that operate 24 hours a day to fix anything. The food is ecxellent. The chefs try to be inovative, and eventhough they sometimes miss the target, it is allways good. The wine is not good. The pools are clean, but the water too warm. The garden is fantastic. Take a look at the photo-album that you can find in the net. In reality things are much better. The service overall is of average quality. The local labour force is excellent, the labour force they "imported" from Russia, Kazakhstan,...is kind, looks nice, but has little knowledge of catering and service in hotels. In July the majority of guests were Russian, however, inspite of all the reivew in this site, I did not find it disturbing. On my black list of most terrible tourists are still tourist from one of the northern European countries. Comming from a small country for me the majority of "other guests" were always foreigners...German, English or Italian speaking people. So, the difference is only in the language. I find bad manners to be democratically distributed among the population of each nation. I never go to the same place twice, but I would reccoment this hotel to my friends. At the end I would like to wish all the best to the managment of the hotel and hope they find their own recipe of the success, which is certainly not in trying to imitate the Greeks. Turkey has so much to offer from its own tradition of hospitality, cousine and natural resources and attractions.

After reading the reviews on websites like this, I was dreading the holiday. I have a family of 5, and went with friends so there were 9 of us in total. We stayed in one of the apartments on the complex and the accommodation was immaculate. The maid came every day, tidied up, made the beds (sometimes the sheets were made into hearts or animals with fresh flowers) and supplied fresh water. The pools were very clean and not overcrowded. The restaurant was able to cater for tables of 9 every sitting; they would push tables together if a large one wasn't free. The food was excellent, and there was always plenty of choice. The Turkish a la carte was a great experience and the staff was so helpful and courteous throughout our stay. There are a lot of Russians at these resorts, but what you have to remember is that this is their part of the Mediterranean! The entertainment was very good the first week we stayed, my wife and I even got up on stage to take part in some sort of Mr and Mrs show. In the second week the entertainment staff were changed and they weren’t as good. Most of the staff can speak good English and they were always helpful. I can recommend the Turkish baths at Side, but don't bother with the market at Manavgat. The shops at the end of the road are better and cheaper. The pharmacist was helpful when our 9 year old was sick and the medicine he gave her was like a miracle cure. The staff at the kids club were fantastic and gave you the short break you needed! Overall, I can’t fault this resort at all. We went from 13th to 27th May. Later in the season it will be more crowded, just as it will be anywhere else, that’s why we go off season. I would go again next year, same time, and this time be able to look forward to it.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Sunrise and on the whole it was an enjoyable experience. The majority of the staff who work there are friendly however the reception staff were quite rude and unhelpful at times. We were staying in the main hotel and our room was spotless and the Housekeeper was wonderful. The pools are also very clean and the area surrounding them was also tidy and clean however the public toilets were a disgrace. The free beach towel service was shocking as there was never anybody at designated areas available to swop towels with, we mentioned this to reception everyday but they didn't seem to care. We did manage to change our towels nearly everyday but it was hard work.
I have a 3 year old daughter and she attended the Kids World Club and the girls who run that are amazing, they were so helpful and would answer any questions we had as best they could as we didn't have a holiday rep. My daughter felt very content with them and i have to say they made our holiday so much better.
As i said we didn't have a holiday rep, we actually did but he was nowhere to be found and about a week into our holiday he went home and never came back, another rep came in but he didn't speak to us and 2 days later another rep appeared in his place, Ian. Ian seemed really good but since it was out pernultermate day we didn't get a chance to really talk to him.
The food is ok, good days and bad. I know you can't expect to eat the same food as you would get at home but some of the dishes seemed inedible and the meat sometimes didn't seem cooked, i was especially wary of the chicken as they were cutting cooked chickens with pink bits clearly visable!! Also watch out for the residents from the sister hotel, Starlight, they use all of Sunrise's facilities and eat in the restaurant but the residents of Sunrise aparently cannot eat at Starlight!! This didn't cause my family too much trouble but we did see a number of families who couldn't find a table to eat because the starlight guests are eating there.
The variaty of drinks was good and they even did a kids cocktail which my daughter loved.
The beach is tidy and clean but hard on the feet as it is mostly stones, there is sand but it has little stones in it so not as soft on the feet, my partner even cut his foot walking on the beach.
The Hotel is siutated a long way from anything, there is a market within walking distance but nowhere to really escape to without using some form of transport which we found to be quite expensive.
The hotel is good if you just want to relax by the pool and not do a lot but if you want to experience Turkey it's a bit far away and not for you.
As for the Russians..........just think of cockroaches! Everywhere and just as disgusting.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!! Yes the pools are quite nice, (2 with ear infections out of a party of 4). Check in was ok but double check your room details. WE were told we would have a duplex room.....not, we had to pay 280 euros to get the room we thought we had in the first place. The Russians are numerous, rude, discourteous and downright nasty. The food was awful with the same choice on offer day after day after day. The entertainment sucked. Once finished you cannot get a seat at a bar anywhere on the complex. The transfer time is about two and a half hours, don't be fooled by T.Cook. Safety at the aqua park area is almost non-existant. There is only one English channel on the TV and that is BBC News 24. The whole complex is geared up for the Russians, DON'T GO...........
If you hear another English voice you'll be lucky. If you do go, however, do the rafting trip, it was amazing, on the other hand don't book the last day cruise, you will spend 4 hours on a coach to get there, 4 hours on the boat, another 2 hours on the coach to get to your Basic hotel (it sucked). They never tell you that when you book these trips.
On the whole..........AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Hi just got back today from a fab holiday the Sunrise Park Resort and Spa and have to say the reviews we read about this hotel have been different to our experience and most of the British who were there at the time. We are a family of 2 adults 2 girls (7 & 10 years old.) We also meet up with another family making our party 12 (7 kids). We arrived after a night flight and were speedily checked in then Mustafa the bell boy took us on the golf buggy through the lovely gardens to our room (this was a laugh as he often mounted the kerbs in doing so) he then showed us around the room even showing us the English TV channels he was really kind and funny even at that early hour! The next day we struggled a bit to find our way around as they do not issue maps but have large static ones around the grounds. It was actually well signposted for room numbers etc which is just as well as all the rooms look the same. The hotel staff we found throughout the holiday could not help enough no matter how busy they were. Even though we were in the 10% english everyone else was Russian! the only downside was that sometimes in the shows were mostly spoken in Russian (comedy night would have failed the trades description act) but as the hotel has booked a lot of outside entertainment this ensured some of the best all inclusive quality shows we've seen and its a 14 day programme so you never see the same show twice. We had a Mongolian circus act that was terrifying to watch -they were fearless!
The hotel pools were spotless with fresh water pools so no sore eyes. The Aqua park lifeguards were great, really good fun with the kids but also hot on safety. Our kids reported some Russian boys who were sitting inside the slide as it meant people were getting bumped. They gave them warnings but when this was ignored they called security and they were then banned from the Aqua Park. During our stay nobody in our group had sore ears even though 2 of the party have had ear problems in the past.
The whole site is ideal for you children they have a special area in the aqua park, little tikes playground and even have kids toilets with low sinks!
My daughter who is horse mad did the horse riding but at 10 euros for 15 mins it was expensive having said that the horse and the stable guy had a real bond that was amazing to watch as it would only follow him and copy his speed.
The food was better we found in the new Starlight area of the hotel this is a new extension still being built but noise was kept to a minimum and watching some of the health and safety moves by the builders could be entertaining. We did do the meditarian a la carte
restaurant one night but found only a choice of 3 main meals. Having said that though the food was good. All of the guests can use Sunrise or Starlight restaurants, beach and pool. Starlight tends to be quieter with a nicer calm feel as its built to appear like a grotto rather than Sunrises canteen feel. During our stay more of Starlight was being opened it really is fab. Our friends won the weekly free hotel raffle so were upgraded to the jacuzzi family suites these were more modernly furnished but the upstairs did get hot.
The Russians did not seem as rude hear as the ones we encountered in Belek 2 years ago although they do not try to mix with the English. Some real extremes gorgeous girls looking like they stepped of the cover of a magazine then people with shocking dress sense most looking like Brits in years gone by minus the knotted hanky (sandals, socks pulled right up and mis matched stripes it was entertaining!)
After the show in the ampitheatre finishes Starlights outdoor area has live music and people can dance along(well lets say the Russians try) it was like mini Moscow as none of the English seemed to want to join in. We found a great little disco at the back of the stage at the ampitheatre they did play some Russian techno but occasionally they'd play R&B that the English recognised.
The hotels kids club wasn't very good there seemed to be only one english speaking staff member, no signing in or out of children. A letter from Thomas Cook 2 days before we left uk stated that the Thomas Cook kids club would not be on until a few days into the holiday. We then got another letter a few days into the holiday pushed under our door advising us that the Thomas Cook Kids Club will not in fact start until the 1st July! Some good that is. We then found out other families had a different letter 2 days later telling them to meet the Rep at reception to get some compensation money. I also turned up and the rep stood us up! We then ran into him later that day he said he could only give compensation to the families on the list I would get mine in the UK. A letter then confirmed I am to get 10% of my holiday costs other families got less some hadn't even been told they were entitled to anything.
This holiday was booked in June last year but we got a letter in December stating we now had to fly 2 days earlier. We could cancel but by then I realised there were no other free child places also the other family couldn't cancel as there booking hadn't been changed so we arrived 2 days earlier than them. On the way back we were taken from resort only to find the plane was delayed by 3 hours apparently due to a puncture earlier that day in Tenerife "they had trouble sourcing a replacement tyre" (do planes not carry spares!?)
We would consider returning to this hotel in the future but not if it incurred travelling with Thomas Cook they seem as if they change everything at the last minute so its too late for people to arrange suitable alternatives thus meaning they do not loose the business. Beware of Thomas Cook!!!!!!

This is the 2nd year we have been to the Sunrise Park Resort and spa and are already looking to book next year. Last yr we went for a wk and this yr we went for 2wks and still wasnt long enough. Everybody is so friendly and extremely helpful. We had a great VIP evening with Champagne and canepes and lots of gifts in our room. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.
