A great place to stay!
from MASHUk
My partner and I got a last minute deal and stayed at the Tuna Apartments and we had a fantastic time! The facilites are basic, but you have everything you need for a great holiday! Towels, bedding and cleaning done daily - you simply had to pop the sign on your door on the way out and it was done by the time you got back. Location is truly excellent - literally a minutes walk from the beach! The staff are fantastic, really helpful - especially giving directions or information on local buses/sights etc... and can arrange turkish bath for you at another local hotel - a must for everyone! The Friday night BBQ is not to be missed - belly dancing and maybe just a few surprises as the night wears on.....lets just say it's the first time I've been in the swimming pool fully clothed, lol! The tortoises in the garden are gorgeous, we spotted at least 4, and the bats flying past as dusk falls are awesome - the cicadas are a bit on the noisey side tho! We returned home with lots of happy memories and hope to return again soon! A big thank you to Andi, Salim and the lovely receptionist whose name I didn't get but who was so helpful - it was definetly a week to remember! From Sharon and Mark
A one of Bad experience?
from Me-in-Ireland23
Well where to start.... The hotel itself was lovely, the pool area was good though the main pool is deep for younger children without armbands, the rooms were fairly clean though I hardly seen a maid in a room, the other facilities were clean, all in all the HOTEL was lovely..... the problem was just the people and the prices. The bar manager was a little vicious as a friend of ours had told people who were staying in Tuna outside the hotel to try one night maybe across the road for a change. The bar manager immediatley had it in for our friend, he shouted at her the next night and wouldnt stop, they turned her electricity off, and whenever she drunk some water by the pool the bar manager came over and shouted at her to drink it in her room because it was water not bought at Tuna. He did that with other people as well, about water. The bar manager also flirted with the teenagers and offered them Drinks at night. The receptionist was nice, the manager was quite cold and as was the bar managers brother. As I have read other reviews they have been praising of Salim so maybe this was a one off bad experience. The surroundings and Tuna where good. The prices in Tuna compared to the shops around where very exspensive. I had a good holiday ((lol)) but I wouldnt go to Alanya next year.
Avoid

Avoid Avoid Avoid The staff are so rude to customers and the rooms are not particulary clean. The only thing it had going for it was it's location to the beach - which meant that you can escape.
See you next year... Salim & the gang

Myself and my family recently stayed at the Tuna Apartments. As always going by the brochure you are always apprehensive as to what you will find when you arrive. Tuna Apartments exceeded expectations. The pool area looked much nicer in real life and the rooms were lovely, very large and spacious and all rooms at the front looked over the pool and even to the sea. The beach was in easy reach by literally walking down the road, across the main road, and you are there. The 'beach boys' are so nice, Mustafa and the others, really kind, helpful (I know they are getting paid for it) but jump at your beck and call. The Tuna Apartments were a good choice for many reasons. The staff are very friendly. Salim who is the bar/restaurant manager, takes care of the day to day running of the place is a very funny, nice and helpful chap. On our first day we sat around the pool as we had had a delay at Gatwick and needed to chill out. He brought us some beers and sat down to chat. Find out our names, where we had come from etc. Introduced us to the Turkish Bath service that they provide. As this is something I always do when I go to Turkey, I was instantly interested. It was a very good deal too. Around 19 quid for 3 hours of pampering (you wouldn't get that at home). Another reason was the distance into town. A walk into the harbour was a little far for my parents but do-able. But a short 25 minute stroll along the seafront takes you into an array of restaurants to try. Some shops too and bars. The harbour is where you need to head for main Alanya nightlife. Some places to eat are situated on the path/road coming down into the harbour area, they have a panoramic view of the harbour sweeping round. The lights at night are mesmerising. Salim and the Tuna Apartments always seemed to be open/up no matter what time of night I ventured in. The bar always open for that last beer or Irish coffee. I would have no problem recommending this property to anyone who asked. I am definitely going back next year without fail. May and June if I can help it.
A great stay for young people too
from TunaApartmentReview
The apartment is clean and the service you get is really good! If you want to go to the beach, it is only 50metres away from the apartment and at the beach there's again people who'll take good care of you- asking you if you want anything etc.- This apartment is not only for one spectacular group, it's for families, young couples or just young people, for elder and poeple who travels alone. I had a really nice time in Turkey, and the apartment was one of the best things I enjoyed at my stay. I recommend this apartment!!!

Best Hotel i've Ever Stayed At!
from BristolCarlaj
I have to disagree with the previous reviewer completely. I have just returned from my second visit to the Tuna Apartments and have already been to the travel agent to enquire for next year. The Hotel is clean and friendly, and the staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The restaurant is on the terrace which overlooks the street, but as the hotel is situated on a quiet side road this is really not a problem and I CERTAINLY smelt no exhaust or camel fumes. There are four outside tables, but also the option of four inside as well if alfresco eating is not your thing. The tablecloths were NOT dirty and I saw no cigarette burns. As for the pool bar, the mention of 40 sunloungers is a gross exaggeration as there are definitely no more than 25 at the most, and there is plenty of space for manouvre. The staff at the poolside are very attentive and will go out of their way to satisfy customers requirements. The food is great and very cheap, and the atmosphere friendly. The rooms are cleaned daily and although the S/C arrangements are minimal, there are so many cheap alternatives in Alanya that this shouldnt be a problem. I spent a lot of time in the pool as did my freinds and children. We did the same thing in May and have had no problems. the pool is very clean and is treated nightly - have witnessed this myself on several occasions. As for the staff, I would now number all of them amongst my friends and can honestly say i have never felt so welcomed in my life. Thinking of going? GO!

I found the Tuna apts a very clean and friendly hotel to stay at. With the beach just over the road and a large super market with all you need just round the corner. The staff couldnt do more for you and always with a smile. I asked for more pillows and within 10 mins they had been placed on my beds. The rooms are clean and of a good size with shower, large lit mirror and hair dryer. The maids even arrange your clean towels into flower patterns on your bed. The pool was always clean as was the area surrounding. BBQ night is very entertaining with fresh cooked food and a lovely atmosphere. The food was exceptionally good especially the fish and at a reasonable price. I found my stay very enjoyable and will return for a 3rd time next year.
nice place shame about the staff

The Tuna apts are 50 mtrs from cleopatra beach with regular transport and also with a couple of restaurants close by' and two small supermarkets 10 mtrs away with a large supermarket 100 mtrs away. Entering the tuna up some steps is the reception area with table and chairs, and a eating area next to the road' to which you can smell the delights of exhaust fumes and camels going up and down the road. The pool is roughly 10x15 ft with a small childrens pool 4x4. The pool area is crammed with 40 sun loungers and 5/6 table and chairs. The restaurant has 4 table and chairs and the table clothes could do with disposing of, as these are dirty and filled with cigarette holes. You have 4 floors with 50 rooms with a lift' rooms are spacious with a tv and a/c £35 sterling pw, and a hob with two rings, the bathroom has a low floor shower with a hair dryer. When at the meeting you are told sun loungers on the beach are 4 lira, (the hotels and apts have there own part of the beach) these are in fact 750 lira' 2 s/loungers 1 parasol, and when offered a drink' take it' straight away, as you will pay dearly later(scam). our holiday was ruined by the staff of the tuna' with constant harassement and damn right bullying about eating in their restaurant and ripping off customers, when my wife and i reported to our rep, the goings on' he said not again, i fed up with this' and had a word. Our holiday suffered even more after that, as silam' gave me soured milk in my tea, and i ended up with stomach trouble for three days, all i can say is be careful' when saying yes to the bbq evening' eating and buying other people drinks, as you might end paying double with no proof. One other note is the amount of people with ear infections, and with twenty odd years of traveling' have never seen so many ear infections.
Had a fab time at the Tuna Hotel. Spotless, spacious appartments. As is the pool/bar area. The staff were fab-especially when my 4 year old broke out in chicken pox the 3rd day!!!! The rooms facilities are basic, we didnt have a tin opener/bottle opener but we just went... more
