Benimar Apartments Reviews
" We have just returned from a most... "
Submitted By: Mr J Backhouse
We have just returned from a most enjoyable week in the Benimar apartments. My wife and myself had not been back to benidorm for over twenty years but were pleased with both the resort and the apartments. The apartments were clean and spacious with air con in the bed room and living room, we needed it as the tempratures were in the thirtys in the day time and in the twentys at nights. We were on the top floor and had two balconys there was a nice breeze and a wonderfull view across the hotels. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. We changed our money at reception as it was more or less the same as the exchange. The Rooms were clean tidy and well equiped. The kitchen had everything in you could want even a washing machine. The rooms are cleaned once per week with change of laundry.
A very good weeks holiday in nice apartments for the price.

" My wife and I stayed there last... "

My wife and I stayed there last October for one week and to be perfectly honest had no problems what so ever with the accommodation.
The apartments were clean, large, maid service was fantastic, and we even had a washing machine in the room. My wife is disabled and the property is disabled friendly, close to all amenities and food was good and really cheap.
The staff was friendly also, would highly recommend these apartments to any one as it is close to the old town and the new town.

We found the rooms to be very spacious, air conditioned, clean and comfortable and the washing machine was a godsend. We found the pool and the sunbathing area to be quite small, but we knew this after we had booked. After a few days spent by the pool it got a bit boring so we preferred the beach. This was a downfall as it cost each of us 4 Euros per bed.
However, we had friends at another hotel (Sol Pelicanos) and their pool was huge so we spent our time there.
The staff were pretty quiet but being Spanish it was expected. The barman (I think his name is Alan or Andy) spoke to my parents a few times and they seemed to like him. However, on the day we had to leave the apartment, the maids came bursting in the door to clean it for the new arrivals, making it hard for us to get our cases out the door as their stuff was in the way. We were told to leave at 10am and they arrived at 9:45am.
The apartment was approx 15-20 mins walk from the square where the nightlife was and only 10 mins from the start of the old town. It was centre of most things and not too bad if you don't mind the the drunken walk home hehe.
We would recommend the show "We Will Rock You" which is shown every night in Rockerfellas. It is a tribute act to Queen, the 4 men are fantastic, we went to see it twice. Also, you cant go to Benidorm and not see Sticky Vicky, we happened to be in a bar where she was performing and after a few drinks, she is quite entertaining. Her daughter Demaria Leyton also performs in the same bars, she does a Contortionist act followed by the same act as her mum!
For food, I would highly recommend the Wooky Hollow or Yorkshire Pride (opposite each other). For those who are staying in the new town, there is a Wooky and Yorkshire Pride 2 thats closer. The meals range from 5-10 Euros but they are worth every cent! For cheap drinks go to Jumpin Jacks - San Miguel 1.30, Vodka and mixer 3 Euros for 2.
It rained for 4 days we were there so we stayed in a few nights. One of the nights we had Chinese from down the road...which turned out to be lovely. The staff were lovely too, gave us a free glass of coke each while we waited for the take away and a complimentary ornament. If you come out of the apartments, turn left then right (at the music studio) then right again, its the one on the right.
I wouldn't recommend to go in September as it is not as lively but it is good for older people or couples. I would definitely go to Benidorm again but only for a weekend as 2 weeks is a bit too long. I would also go half board as we ended up spending £800 on food/drink alone. Be aware that it is quite expensive.
