This holiday was fantastic! Everything was fantastic! The people are very friendly. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from!! Friendly entertainment with Antoine. My kids are 15 and 12 and don't usually get involved with entertainment but the activities... more

I went to this hotel with my parents in July of last year, which was the fourth or fifth time we had stayed there, and after the last visit I really don’t think we’ll go there again. I’ll reiterate the point about the unfathomably loud music – it was deafening. So... more

Just returned from Casas del lago apartments. Excellent location and apartments spotless, cleaned every other day and linen changed twice a week, towels three times. If you want a view of the marina this should be requested with your tour operator as one third of apartments... more

My wife & I in early 60s but very young at heart booked this apartment via Thomas Cook and went 1th Oct to 23 October 2009. This week is the last week before total closure of the resort for the winter. The only downside ref the resort was that 90% of the restaurants and... more

overall the holiday was very good and i would highly recommend the Cssa Del Lago to couples, and families with very young children, not a place for teenagers and the 20/30 crowd. The hotel had a lovely view over the marina which was jam packed with Resturants, and a few... more

we asked for a view over the marina, as the blurb said all appartments have this view i was confident. however, all we could see was the back of the appartments in front of us. we were right down the far end away from the pool (that was OK) but we had no view. our TV... more

We stayed here for the first 2 weeks of the school holidays: myself, my husband and 2 daughters 14 & 12. We had an upstairs apartment by the pool and overlooking the marina - i don't think i've ever had such a lovely view. The apartment itself was spacious with sofa beds in... more

fabulous location!
stayed at this hotel may this year and apart from the rain! :( we had a ball got two good days of sun and when we did we took advantage of the fab pool area and lovely yet small beach i went with my husband our 2 year old daughter and my parents and all agreed what a fab place it is to visit there are lots of lovely restaurants however beacause you are in a small harbour area everything is very expensive although the euro is not as good we realised it was more expensive then your weekly shop at home! i would probably not return here purley because i like to travel to new places and would certainly reccomend it just go first week of june!!!
Excellent Location
Have just returned from an excellent week at the casas del lago. The location is wonderful, overlooking the harbour and only 1 minute walk from the beach. The hotel its self is very bright and clean and the staff are very helpful. The apartment was clean and had plenty of room, the bathroom had a hairdryer, ( but if you have long, thick hair, take your own) and was cleaned every other day. The kitchen was minimal with just a microwave and two hot plates, (you had to hire a toaster from reception). The swimming pool was very clean and welcoming. You have a lot of restaurants to choose from around the harbour, would recommend the Steak House " Toro Negro" excellent food, although the other restaurants we tried were just as good. We hired a car from Avis for 3 days which gave us a chance to go to Mahon and Cala Gardana (beutiful beach). It is easy to drive in Menorca and the roads are well sign posted. Will be visiting Casas Del Lago again!
Just love this Island
I have just returned from a week staying in the Casas Del Lago and can only say how wonderful it was. The staff are very friendly (I do wonder if they ever sleep as they always seem to be there!) The accomodation is great, clean and spacious. The bathroom facilities are great with a bath and shower and great water pressure. Another great thing is the water is very soft and coming from a hard water area, it is a real treat to have your skin and hair feeling like it did when you were ten! The views over the Marina are great and the pool is just right. There is also a good poolside drinks and snacks bar. The beach is literally 1 minute from the front of the hotal and the bay has aqua clear water a wonder place for snorkelling enthusiasts. Adding to this, a 5 minute walk around the coast take you to the resort of Son Xoriguer, which has a bigger beach and great waves. The bus services runs from just outside the hotel and is a great, cheap way of getting into Cuitadella. The buses again are a real treat as they are clean, comfortable and air conditioned, and what's even better is they run at regular intervals until just after midnight, a real treat for the Brits. Car hire is also made easy as the reps will sort this out for you. You tell them what you want, for how long and it is sorted. The car hire company will come and collect you, take you to the car and when you are finished, you leave your keys at the reception and they take it way for you. For those who might feel nervous about driving abroad, don't. The roads are quiet with low speed limits which are adhered to and the main road leading from Cuitadella to Mahon is more like one of our more quiet 'B' roads. Another great thing is the owner of Casas Del Lago owns a fair chunk of the Marina and you can get a discount card getting you a % of food at certain restaurants. I can certainly recommend 'La Venezia', a great Italian with excellent food and wine and very friendly staff. Overall, a great holiday and I would certainly go back there in the future.
Want to go back
Just returned from here last week and come across this web page while booking for next year. I done think anyone will ever stay here just once. Its a fantastic venue in a fantastic setting.
Best hotel in Cala n Bosc?
This was our second holiday in Cala n Bosch - having previously stayed at the excellant Sol Falco, the Casas Del Lago however were less expensive in August, and seemed in a "better" location. Well what a wonderful find this gem of a hotel is. As soon as you step through the door, the wonderful air conditoning cools you, and the lobby is spotless and very tasteful. Walking straight through, you are in the private gardens at the back - or should it be the front, for the whole garden, terracing and swimming pool area has the most incredible views over the harbour, in fact it's practically on the harbour. Here is where the apartments are situated - mostly around the pool (Brilliant for being able to watch the children). There was a lounge/bar, and whilst we were there, the teenagers seemed to make that their "clubroom" which was really sweet (The large Sky enabled projection TV in there probably influenced their decision to meet here), and it was great to hear their laughing, and look in whilst passing to see them playing twister! It seems hard for your children not to make friends whilst on holiday here - possibly the fact the other guests are all UK clientelle - with the Casas Del Lago being Thomas Cook exclusive. A fact emphasised by the line of children and teenagers who came to wave off a new friend on the transfer coach back to the airport, holding each other and crying. The main beach is a very short walk across the (not busy but obviously be careful) road. The other beach at Son Xoriguer is to be honest a bit of a hike - ok if you stay at the Sol Falco which is inbetween them both, but it's a good 10-15 minute walk, and maybe not something to do on a hot day. The harbourside bars and restaurants were a short walk around the corner. A couple of short notes about Cala n Bosch to finish off with. This is a quiet peaceful resort - brilliant for families, but useless for ravers - but you go to Ibiza if you want to party all night of course. One place everyone who comes here with children seems to visit is Goody Goody - it's great with bouncy castles, mini golf, a swimming pool, trampolenes etc. Ciutadella is a must visit, this old town is breathtakingly gorgeous - and the bus stops right outside the hotel - so no excuses. The buses terminate in Ciutadella next to a wonderful tree-shaded park, there is a childrens play area at the far end, and this is worth a visit, watch them playing whilst you enjoy a drink from one of the cafe's which have tables right next to this area. What more can I say? I'm sat here at work on a cold day, and I want to go back and jump into that swimming pool. Right now!
Excellent hotel, excellent holiday!
We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Casas Del Lago and would thouroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. The only tiny minus point would be to say its probably not the place to go if you're not a fan of families and children as there were A LOT and we went out of school holiday time so I imagine in August it could get a bit rowdy! Other than that, brilliant! The hotel itself is faultless - clean, tidy, staff are great. The company that owns the hotel also owns a lot of the restaurants around the harbour so you can get a 10% discount card for a lot of meals out. The hotel entertainer Tray seemed to be excellent with the children, organising Water Polo in the pool everyday, as well as Lilo Races and scavenger hunts. She also did bingo in the evening for the adults and a quiz and there were also a couple of professional shows whilst we were there - a disney one and a riverdance one. The restaurants around the harbour were excellent, particularly the Toro Negro Steakhouse, Piccolo, Tropicana, Fiesta, Venezia and a special mention to Chaplins who not only did excellent food, but the staff there are great!!! Very funny and entertaining!! We went there for drinks practically every day! The only restaurant that wasn't great was the Fortune, although that might have been us as it did seem packed every night. So yeah, I absolutely recommend this place! Go now!!!
2 Week Break at Casas Lago
We were pleasantly surprised at the views from our room, overlooking the harbour in Cala n Bosch. The room and site were extremely clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. The only thing that i felt was a negitive was that considering it was a self catering establishment there was no kettle or toaster provided. This had to be hired at the cost of 18 euros per item for the duration of the holiday. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay which we hope to do again soon.
Half Term Holiday
We had a lovely half term holiday here, and are looking forward to going again. The accomodation was excellent and the staff and reps very helpful and friendly.
Lovely setting
Our first trip to Menorca was Scottish School Holidays in October 06, weather was better than expected, accomodation was just as expected (basic self catering accom), the people who work in Casas Del Lago were really lovely and could not be more helpful. The only thing we could fault was the fact that all the great play areas for the kids were shutting, and due to the restaurants winding down for the close of their business's their menus were limited at some. I would recommend this resort for anyone with families of all ages as In the summer it would be buzzing with things for them to do, I would also recommend the accomodation as it is central and within walking distance to the beach, bars, shops, restaurants and overlooks the lovely harbour.
The best just got worse!
Have recently returned from our fifth visit in last four years to this pretty apart-hotel, overlooking the man-made harbour at Calan Bosch. Can't fault the setting but this may well prove to be our last visit. The local staff (Raphael, Toni, et al) were friendly and helpful asever, but this privately owned holet has now become an exclusive to Thomas Cook. That's meant some changes for the worse. Principally, a great restaurant lies empty, with no meal options now offered or facility for al a carte dining. What was a fantastic half board location is now little more than a collection of underequiped self catering apartments (no oven, grill, kettle or toaster). We would love to return next spring, but not unless Thomas Cook revert to a proper apart-hotel format. As for the entertainment, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed!
