me, my husband and our 11 year old daughter stayed there for a week, food in restaurant was perfect, supermarket actually a lot cheaper than the other shops and pool was perfect size. apartments were basic, but clean and cool. wud defo recommended here, staff ery pleasant and helpful with entertainment 3/ nights/week

Just spent a week at Marcial Apartments,our accommodation was very nice with plenty of space for the two of us. All staff were very friendly.Our patio overlooked the pool.Matagorda is ten minutes away from the airport so expect some noise from the planes going... more

my boyfriend and i are just back from our holiday in matagorda and i would strongly recommend the san marcial apartment ou have the pool supermarket and pool bar/resturant right outside the door the weather was beautiful and the people are so nice. i will be returning next year.

Stayed in san marcial apartments for 1 week! We happend to be staying during the hotest week of the year! (during july) Temp reached 50 degrees! As it was so hot the apartment was always stuffy and there was no air condtioning but if you wanted you could rent a fan... more

nice place but unhelpful from macrompian
hi we stayed for a week and it was nice . Word of warning when we were there two ladies were attacked coming back to the complex at the back entrance at 10.30 at night two men came out of no where and tried to steal there handbag's as you can imagine this was very disturbing hotel were very unhelpful to these ladies and even the staff in the bar when it happened said that if it was outside the gate it was not there problem and there was no one in reception till morning to which they got the same response as the people in the bar gave them. We felt that this was not good enough this ladies were very Lucky that they were not seriously hurt and they managed to hold on to their bags but one lady was thrown to the ground and banged her head. In the end when we walked in to reception on our way out in the morning and found out what was going on we helped these ladies out and got them in contact with there rep and police we felt that the people in reception could have been a lot more helpful to these poor distressed ladies. We know no where is safe anymore but a little help goes a long way.
Winter break at San Marcial from jazz2
My Husband, Father and I stayed here for 1 week in November. You will probably notice from most of my posts that I don't really stay in apartments but we really just wanted a cheap break in the sun. This hotel is cheap and I suppose is ok for a 2 star. I found that the beds are crap and no sheets worth talking about so it was very cold at night (we had to sleep with our beach towels around us to keep warm). The "clean" towels did not smell very clean. Our room was only cleaned twice while we were there for 7 nights. Anyone with walking difficulties may stuggle here as there are a lot of steps within the complex. The restaurant serves nice enough food if you do not wish to go outside the complex. Our week was dampened with extremely wet and cloudy weather and Lanzarote as an island is really not for me I found it quite tacky. The best part was when you walk toward the Beach and along the promenade is quite nice in the evening. There are a few bars and eating places. The best restaurant we ate in was the Kinsale which I will highly recommend. I am sure I would have enjoyed the holiday a bit more if the weather had been good, however I will never go cheap and cheerful again it does not work for me. Just remember you do get what you pay for.

the resort was relaxing we had the best time the food and the cocktails were oh my god lets just say couldn tell you who owned my feet or my husdands. the hotel was brill that were we got the food and drinks the people who own the hotel were the best enterment they danced with us all night long a word of advice use the bus its cheepand just as good as a taxi. listen just go and go with the flow you will have a good time enjoy..

My partner and I have recently returned from our stay in San Marcil apartments in Lanzarote. It is located in a quiet residential part of Matagorda but it is quite close to the Matagorda shopping centre. Bartie's Irish bar at the shopping centre is a nice spot for watching football and rugby matches but I didn't notice one Irish member of staff. The food is stodgey and comforting if you like that type of thing. The San Marcil apartments are very close to the airport. I expected the noise to be an issue but it didn't bother us at all and it was nice to see the planes flying by so closely. The apartments were very clean and a wonderful size. The complex was very pretty and nicely decorated. We did however have to wait a long time for our room to be ready. The pool is very, very cold but looked well. The only food we had at complex was breakfast at the bar and it was gorgeous and well priced.There is a supermarket at the complex but make sure you are not in a hurry when you go there. Sometimes it takes ages to be served. Reception did not stay open as late as they claimed they would. The towels were not changed often enough in the room. The charge to use the pool table was far too expensive. Many items were available to rent such as jug kettles,fans, dvd players and dvds but they were not reasonably priced. Our rep told us you could only attend Ranch Texas if you went with them because each tour company has a different night. This turned out to be completely false. We bought our tickets at the gate for both the day and night activities and it was a great fun experience.

Just back from 2 weeks at the San Marcial and an excelant time was had by myself,partner and 2 boys. The apartments are really laid back and the bar is about the best i have come across, prices and food excellant. The rooms are comfy just a pity not air conditioned. If I had a complaint it would be there are not enough sunbeds at the pool and unless you are prepared to get up at 6am you have no chance.(please note there were no Germans!).That apart we will be going back next year if we can get in.

Just back from the San Marcial Apts with my two children aged 11and 8 where we had a fab time. For a one bedroomed apt they were very big with a large breakfast area and kitchen (bring mugs though as cups were tiny). There are two different parts to the complex one near the pool where we were and the other near the bar , we stayed near the pool and found it way nicer. there are a lot of tiled steps in this complex and they are very dangerous when wet. The bar food is very cheap and the best quality you will find around. There is a supermarket next to the pool and there is fresh bread rolls there cooked every morning to die for. We stayed in room 118 with views of the sea and pool as well as the fabulous Hotel Beatriz. The planes land very near these apts but we found them facinating and they stop at 11 hardly noticable after aday. Matagorda is very quiet not for party animals. I would definately recommmend the san marcial to famillies or elderly people . Chris the First Choice Rep is a gem.There are 3 pools at this complex one to suit every swimmer and they have no problem with inflatable beds as most apts do. Look forward to going back again.

Stayed in san marcial for one week with my daughter and 2 sons 8 3 and1 years old. great location lovely pool and the restaraunt unreal. We normally eat out in different places every night but the food is so good here i ate there almost every day breakfast lunch and dinner. Very resonable prices for drink and food. lovely staff sissy and miguel are the owners and they are topps. There isnt a mini disco at night but the betrix playa is 1 minute walk from there and if your putting money behind the bar you can enjoy there entertainment no problems. lovely walks down by the beach front 5 min walk or you can hire a bikeand cycle the route from airport on one side to playa de pocillis on the other. a lot of people have mentioned in their reviews about the noise due to airport. I think this is nonsense all planes stop after about nine and personnally i might have noticed the odd one but it wasn't to loud and i was to busy enjoying myself and sunning myself with my family to notice.
Dont Drink Before you Dive from Mendedarrow
We Arrived at the San Marcial Apartments on the 15th Feb for 2 weeks and were allocated this Complex on Arrival. Joanne Finlay the 1st Choice Rep was the best Rep ever and every word was true and was always on time & very approachable. The Apartments were clean & spacious but Jo had warned about the cold pool & HOW right she was. DANGER DO NOT GO INTO THE POOL IF YOU HAVE A HEART CONDITION ITS "FREEZING". The Shopping Centre Matagorda was quite close and I would recommend Barties Irish Bar but in my opinion stay clear of the Chineese as they are verry poor quality. We hired a VW Polo from Auto Feber and a week cost on £85 or 120 Euros including Insurance. If you take a walk along the Seafront you have to call to Picasso's Cafe Bar who does excellent meals at a very good price and is very friendly. Aquasport Scuba diving & Snorkelling Centre S A MUST AS Allison and Mick were superb and my son and I received very professional lessons both above and below the waves exploring the sea life. I will certainly return and hated leaving a location we felt safe and friendly,

Great location handy to the airport. Great bar family run and very friendly. Apartments very spacious and great pool area layout. Most unhelpful staff ever arrived thursday no clean towels until Monday (5 days later). When we asked for clean towels we were treated very badly and completely refused any towels or help. Also met an elderly couple in reception who asked for a blanket because the nights were cold and they were refused. By all means come here but do not expect any help from the complex staff. Reception seemed to open and close when it liked. Was never open when you needed it and even when it was open they didn't want to know.

myself boyfriend and daughter stayed in san marcial ;ast week,its a beautiful clean complex a cuple of mins walk to the beach and centre.the bus pick up point is just outside the back gate for tours and aqua park.we had a fab time and no complaints at all.we will defo go to stay there again.
