STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL
As i can see from more or less everyone elses reviews, the same thing seems to keep arising 1.Robberies (Visit this appartment if you plan on arriving with no suitcase) 2.Loud music 24 hours (Good if you like clubbing music which I do but not every -- minute of the day. 3:Broken glass everywhere (hmmm did someone clear it up NO) 4:Idiots everywhere, (at one point we had a day of sport (pool fighting) 6:Shocking rooms - our one actually had a door through to the next appartment (who were a bunch of --) just incase i wanted to rob there apartment or vice versa. 7: Staff rudeness (ahhh such lovely staff who deal with all the problems) (NOT) 8: I cannot be bothered to go on you should get the idea from this ...DO NOT GO ... And i pity anyone who doesn't read this review before they go there.
Basic, but brilliant.
Just got back from a great holiday in San An Bay. I read bad reviews about these apartments before I left but was more than pleasantly suprised once I arrived. The main entrance is very well kept for 2 star and we got checked in without any problems. Our room had a fantastic view over san antonio marina and a really large balcony with table and chairs. The rooms were large and very clean with comfortable beds, hot running water, and ample storage space. Our fridge was exceptionally clean (been in 4 star self catering with a dirtier fridge!) and we had all cutlery and plates etc we needed. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and when noise occured in the night (which is inevitable in any hotel) security told the perpitrators to keep the noise down. The pool is clean with sun beds and parasols. The bar does play loud music all day but so does most hotel pool areas. I do agree with the reviews about there being broken glass around the pool . However, I asked for a paper cup and the bar staff were happy to oblidge. If you are taking children around the pool I advise little jelly shoes to be on the safe side. Although this could be avoided by the management I have seen this problem in a number of other hotels so nothing unusual about it. Overall, I expected the worst and got more than can be expected from a 2 star self catering complex. They are in a fantastic position on a well lit road, right opposite bus stops and ferries. Recommend these apartments to anyone who wants value for money and a fun holiday in a nice resort.
good accomadation
stayed in these apartments for one week in september and enjoyed it. the apartments consist of 1 twin bedroom, lounge/kitchen area with a single bed, settee, table and 4 chairs and a 2 ring cooker and sink. bathroom with bath and shower, the balcony was a double balcony with table and chairs and patio door access from both bedroom and lounge area. the pool area was clean with a good size pool and seperate childrens area and lots of free sunbeds around pool. there is a bar and kitchen to purchase drinks and snacks but for meals you may aswell go to a restaurant there is that many. At evening/night there is music from the pool area so balconys facing the pool will have noise but with patio doors closed this did not affect our sleep. The catering facilities were basic at the least you have 4 of each plates glasses bowls, cutlery. 2 pans frying pan. there is no kettle (payable local) or grill. maid service was every other day one visit is a change of towels the next is linen and towels and so on. After reading previous reports we were a bit worried but i can safely say we would go back again. Oh and all the staff were very helpful to all our quieies going out of their way to solve them.
I am def going back next year!
Just came back from a great stay at the Klippe Apartments and did not want to leave! Me and my friend visited Ibiza for a week and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We are both party mad freaks and the Klippe was just our type of place. Pool bar stayed open all day right through until about 7 the next morning! Drinks etc were cheap and the staff were friendly. During the day a good selection of tunes were played around the pool so you could really get in a party mood. Rooms were basic but clean and the beds were comfy. I would definitely recommend this hotel for young people who do not mind lack of sleep and are up for a 24/7 party atmosphere! I would strongly advise against bringing small children/famillies as it's too noisy but I loved every second of it and am hoping to go back next year with a bigger group of friends.
Whose up for eviction this week, in the BB, oops I mean Sunshine Apartments!
SUNSHINE APARTMENTS - Also known as the Klippe 5th July 2006 - 19th July 2006 When you enter into a holiday contract with Thomas Cook to the above mentioned apartments, you enter a “Surreal World” where normal standards and expectations no longer exist; it is in fact a test of mental strength in an attempt to last the whole two weeks. In this passage of written work, I have put information into a story type information it is infact ALL TRUE but names have been changed for legal reasons and characters from fiction have been used to portray what did happen to our family, and the events mentioned in the piece to follow are all fact, please read with interest and take note. A FEAT OF ENDURANCE 1.Let the game begin, firstly you will book your holiday with Thomas Cook. They will convince you that these apartments fit all the criteria required, for yourself and all members of your family and will be ready and eager to get your hard earned cash into their bank as soon as possible without any conscience about what THEY KNOWINGLY have let you in for. 2.You will arrive at the destination, and first appearances seem to be normal from the coach, (but we are still at the airport), only when you step into the apartments do things start to go down hill. The first thing the Management will do to see how you react is to not have any rooms ready and not enough beds, they will try to convince you that you have too many people, but the money you paid is obviously correct so from now on lets refer to them as Mr & Mrs Control Freak, so that you can understand where I am coming from. 3.So to continue you have your key and go to your room, those with children will be put in the worst rooms over the café so that the music is played so loud that it is above and beyond any human tolerance and is played from 10am – 6am the following day, so loud that the glass in your patio windows will shake and sing to the same tune and to make it more fun for Mr & Mrs Control Freak they fail to put this in the brochure, but they do mention the pool view! 4.Approximately day two, although this can vary, you stand a very good change of being robbed, anything from one room to 10 rooms at a time. To enable this to occur Randle and Hop Kirk Deceased are invited to stay at these apartments (so those of you who are in your 40’s that will remember them from TV, you will remember one of them is invisible), they are given a magic key and this enables them to get into rooms of the guest without being seen or heard, as no forced entry is needed and they take most of your holiday possessions after completely ransacking your room, they then turn off the lights and lock the door behind them, all of this is possible when you know who is in the room, and who is out, and you are invisible to the human eye. Some of the guests give up at this point and beg a very sedated security guard to call the police, but they do not realise that he is not real, and is only capable of repeating “not my problem” “not my problem”, until his batteries run out and he turns mute. Some times he assisted by Tinkerbell, who has taken a left turn instead of a right turn and ended up in “never go there land” instead of “never never land”! Tinkerbell takes great pleasure in sprinkling the security man with fairy dust which put him totally to sleep, you can hear the sound of him snoring all over the building, when he does wake up he can seem to be disorientated walking aimlessly around the streets, totally unaware that he is supposed to be playing the part of the security guard in this game. At this point most guests are asking to be moved to other normal accommodation and agree that they give up this test of endurance, but for those of us determined to stick it out we await what happens next. 5.Now when you booked your holiday you will have been asked to pay full price as an adult and in return you will have been assured that the beds are full size. Well a long time ago the Woodcutter in the story of Snowhite got the contract to make the beds for these apartments and he made lots of beds just the right size and fit for the seven dwarfs so they would be perfect if they needed a break from Snowhite, but as the dwarfs are in fact adults of course, Thomas Cook charges a full adult price. So all the adults over five feet in height, good luck if you get two out of the four beds in the room meant for Sleep, Doc, Sneezy etc. At this point you may be suffering, sleep deprivation, shock (after being robbed) and severe back pain, but this is not a test for the faint hearted and those holiday makers still left the game goes on. 6.A big tip, for you, never, never complain, because this will only award you a “yellow card” from Mr & Mrs Control Freak, which brings you closer to eviction, that will definitely happen if you get carried away and complain twice, you will be OUT there is no doubt, and the winner in this game must stick it out for two weeks to gain as much information to help them in their quest for compensation back in the real world. 7.We now proceed to the next card, Mr & Mrs Control Freak will deal you, which is THE MAD MAID, she is Mrs Trunchbull from the film Matilda, on school holiday vacation helping out her two friends and to revel in holiday makers misery, she will be up and down the corridors anytime in the day entering any room without knocking, clip board in hand to make her daily assessment of your room for Mr & Mrs Control Freak, and if she does not think your room is tidy enough, if you have dared not hang up a few clothes etc, you will lose points and this will result in the loss of all promised clean towels, sheets and toilet rolls. So if you see her marching down your corridor, be warned, and get your room tidy, and be aware, be very aware, that you have no right to privacy in this establishment. 8.As will become very apparent in the first 24 hours of your stay, Health and Safety rules are non-existent here, so the loud music, the pool and the bar are open 24 hours a day. In Spain rules about music being played outside after 12,00 midnight is illegal, and all law-breakers are heavily fined, also all other holiday hotels and apartments do not allow people in the pool after early evening as it is very dangerous, but we are in the Sunshine apartments where no rules about anything apply, so swimming in the pool all night, absolutely plastered on alcohol, (purchased from the supermarket), is totally acceptable and Thomas Cook Reps are very happy about this and don’t want to get it stopped as they feel it will spoil peoples holiday, but in welcome meetings they have been known to show concern about green hair and chlorine. Apparently they have special water in the pool that has magic qualities because it has the ability to turn your hair green, but only at the strike of eleven pm. 9.Your holiday will be half way through now and to the great annoyance of Mr & Mrs Control Freak you are still hanging in, and determine to stay in “THE HOUSE” oops, I mean the apartments till the end. So now Mr & Mrs Control Freak start to play dirty, they draft in the worst kind of foul mouthed yobs ever know to mankind, their job is to be totally disgusting, and they do their job very well. They get to work straight away and they have immediate effect, as follows, they:- a.Teach your children all the foul language they know. b.They have been served IN the pool, in GLASS GLASSES, so beware, because broken glass in the pool could result in cut toes etc. c.They play drinking games which involve, spitting beer over each other, and any other innocent holiday maker. d.They play, stripping off their swimming shorts, in full view of women, and children. This goes on all through the night in and around the pool until it becomes apparent that they have done their job and kept every decent holiday maker awake. 10.Your two weeks are nearly over and although you nearly no money left due to the robberies and have been close to a nervous breakdown with music, noise and yobs day and night you must not give in. Mr and Mrs Control Freak have only one last chance to finally make you crack, and that is to systematically accuse innocent holiday makers of fictional damager in rooms, when you show him complete shock at these blatant attempts to gain money through false pretences he has got you, because when you check in, you have to give him a passport for each room, and so he has your passport number, and if you don’t pay up, he threatens to telephone the passport control at the airport and report criminal damage, so you have no choice but to pay up, so think on an save some money, just in case. 11.Well that’s it, your time is up, you have stuck him out, and it is now your duty as an honest holiday maker who has put all your trust in these people, been totally ripped off, you must call on the British Bull dog spirit and rise to his challenge of good against corrupment, and write to every brochure who will listen, and don’t give up until you get the compensation you deserve. Remember your money is hard earned, and under Trades Description Act you are entitled to get what you booked for your money and don’t let these people get away with it. HEALTH WARNING “Don’t Book with Thomas Cook”
Stay clear of the Klippe - Sunshine Apartments in Ibiza
Do not recommend this place, for young people, teenagers, families, or older people, in fact i dont recommend this place at all. Absolute nightmare, there were robbers who robbed the rooms, who very kindly, didnt force any entrance, to cause any damage to the bedrooms, they also very kindly turned the lights off when they stole what they wanted of our possessions To add insult to injury, items still kept going missing out of our room, and we heard of other guests who also had the same problem, and have noticed on this site, that another set of guests have also reported they too had items taken, and they have accused the maids. In the brochure that we booked the holiday from, it confirms that the complex say they cannot guarantee young people wont be staying here, but the young people were not the problem. It was some "overgrown kids" namely in their lates 20's that not only caused havoc up and down the corridors, they threatened people who asked them to be quiet, they threw bottles at windows, drank beer in the pool out of glasses. One of the apartments on the 2nd floor, which had a group of youths in, actually threw a beer glass off the balcony just missing our heads. There were children in the pool, who cut their feet on the glasses that had been smashed. The music playing all through the night was making the windows vibrate, when the bar manager was asked to turn the music down, he refused, and then he got aggressive, and threw a stool across the bar. The children were very scared, especially after the robberies, because they wanted to know how the robbers got into the rooms, especially after we had been told they had used keys. Something needs to be done, and dont advise anybody to go to stay at this establishment. STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fiendly and good fun but watch out for the maids!!!!!!!!
just got back from an ok holiday at these apartments. pleased we left when we did. i travelled there with a group of friends and my two sons, aged 15 and 6. the staff were very friendly, the pool was good apart from broken glass on the last two days which my smallest stood on. the rooms and balcony were extremely large but not kept very clean. the one major criticism i have about these apartments is that my room was robbed over the process of about 3 - 4 days (must have been the maids). the manager and my rep were extremely helpful in this situation but it did put a dampernor on the overall holiday. i wont be revisiting!!!!!
Holiday from hell
23 of us went to this establishment in july 2006. On the second night of being there, 8 or 9 rooms were robbed. The security guard, once we found him, said "not my problem". The robbers, had in fact gained entrance with a key, very kindly saved the hotels electricity by turning the lights off as they left, and closing the door. The Manager and his wife, didnt come out during the middle of the night, as he said he needed his sleep, he should have arrived at 09.00 am the next morning but arrived at 09.45, when he arrived, he said, nothing he could do. There was music on around the pool from 10.00 until 6.00am, there were groups of "yobs" swimming in the nude all through the night, throwing beer glasses, bottles, eggs at peoples windows. There were other groups of "yobs" dropping their shorts in the daytime around the pool, there were another group of "yobs" running up and down the corridors at night, playing little games, like knocking on peoples doors, and whoever dared to open the doors, were shouted at by these yobs, in very strong swear words. The security man, refused to do anything. These "yobs" i speak about, were not "young and lively" teenagers as the manager very kindly pointed out to me, they were in fact grown adults in the region of 25-30 years. The reception was supposed to be a 24 hour reception, most of the time, the security man in the evening was either 100 yards down the street talking to one of the cafe owners, or asleep in another part of the building. When one of us dared to complain, the manager said, you complain once more i will evict you. The rooms in the sunset brochure, quoted, clean, towels, bed linen would be provided. Some of the rooms belonging to our party, were never cleaned, they didnt receive clean towels, bed linen or toilet rolls, and when this was brought to the managers attention, he said, you want clean bed linen, check into a 5*. The Thomas Cook reps did nothing to help, they said they would stop the yobs from swimming all through the night in the pool, so that we could get at least one nights sleep, his only comment in the welcome meeting was, "I dont advise you to go swimming after 11.00, as they will have put the treatment in the pool, and this could make your hair turn green". Simply I couldnt have cared less if their hair could have turned green, we wanted sleep, and needless to say that the "yobs" in question, actually had all visited the barbers before they went and hadnt got a total hair on their head in any case, so how would this have made their hair turn green!!!! There was also something not right, many people were given bills for damages to their apartments/studios, that they were saying they hadnt done, but if they didnt pay the damages bill then the Manager would give the passport number to the police and they wouldnt be able to leave the country. In our party, there were ages, as follows:- 1 x 11 years 3 x 13 years 2 x 15 years 3 x 17 years 4 x 18 years 1 x 19 year 1 x 20 year the remainders, were the parents of some of these teenagers. All our "young and lively" people, actually did what most "young and lively" people actually go to Ibiza for, they went to the bars in San Antonio and the Bay, went to the clubs, then came back at all hours like, 2,3,4,5, even 8.30 in the morning, climbed into bed and then attempted to get some sleep, so we are not middle aged parents who went to this establishment with the attitude its going to be a very peaceful holiday, because if that was the case we wouldnt have gone with all these teenagers, however, it wasnt the teenagers that were the problem! My advise is, if you want a holiday from hell, then go ahead. However, I wouldnt advise this hotel for families, whatsoever, or groups of young teenagers. In fact I would say it was a perfect place for all the football yobs all through the country to go and they could battle it out all through the night, in the swimming pool, and not get bothered by the management/security, because quite clearly they couldnt careless, if one morning there was a body floating on top of the water.
Amazing!!!
We've stayed at these apartments last July and this July and they are amazing. The staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming, the pool is quite large, the bar and fod is nice, the balconies are huge and it's near enough to bars and restaurants but far enough away to get a decent nights sleep. Getting to San An is easy, as it's a short walk (15mins) or the water taxi is quite near too. No complaints really apart from the maid service was a little irregular (but that could have been due to us staying in bed to early afternoon?!). Other than that, great area, great apartments with amazing staff. Well worth the money if you're planning to visit Ibiza. And if you do go, make sure to visit the Pint Pot and Pink Panther-you've not done Ibiza till you go!!!
Absolute Shambles
I would advise everyone not to ever visit this shambolic hotel. I visited in August 2005 and it was on of the worst experiences of my life. The owner's of this dump could not run a mile never mind a hotel. Within seconds of arriving, I could see the room was completely filthy - including dampness in the cupboards, rusty cutlery and general dust everywhere. There was also a bag of compost lying in our balcony. After two days, my friend and I - sharing with 2 females - were asked to leave the hotel due to the compost. The owner's wife blamed us for it being on the balcony - even though it was there before we arrived. To make matters worse, the Irish guys in the next room were having a general riot, but despite my protests, the owner's wife said "I respect the Irish, not the British." Unbelievable. I was also assaulted by the security guard for no reason. We were thrown out onto the street and slept rough for a few days. Thankfully, a very friendly individual took pity and let us stay with her for the rest of our holiday. On the last day, I re-entered the Klippe Hotel to request a written explanation of why we were asked to leave. I found the owner drinking in the bar with friends, but he claimed he was too busy to speak to me and repeated "Out" until I eventually left. That was not before I was told to "**** off" by the owner's daughter - who had barred my friend from the pool on our fist day for the shocking crime of kicking a fly-away footlball. Finally, I am disgusted by the behaviour of the staff at this dive and I would say if you want to enjoy your trip to this wonderful island, steer well clear of the Klippe Hotel.
