Stayed overnight prior to an early flight to Spain. Arrived about 5.30pm & had no problem finding a space for our car. Check in very quick & friendly. Our room was nice clean & very comfortable.
We chose to eat in the restaurant for our evening meal & although the menu is a bit basic we found something we liked. The food was well cooked & tasty, so we had no complaints at all. We had wine with our meal & found the prices to be good for an airport hotel. We had an early night & the hotel even though was very busy we had a good nights sleep.
We had breakfast next morning at 4.30am & it consisted of hot rolls, toast, yoghurts cheese jams & cereals. With juices tea & coffee. We found it all to be adequate for that time in the morning & did us fine.
Transfer to the airport next morning was a bit of a free for all. We booked the transfer for 6am & found that that was the popular time for a lot of people. When the taxi arrived we started top walk outside & was overtaken by a rude family of four who obviously had decided they weren’t going to be last & pushed in front of ourselves & another couple who had been patiently waiting even before us. The taxi only took 4 people at any one time so it could be a problem for larger groups. Once in the taxi our journey took us less than 5 minutes. We travelled with the other couple that were waiting & they informed us that before we left the hotel we should have been given the number of the taxi that we had to ring on our return. We hadn’t been told this so we used the number that he had been given. He had stayed there before & had got caught out the first time round as he found out you don’t just get ANY taxi back. So bear this is mind when using the park & ride facility.
On our return we called the number given & was told a taxi would be coming immediately. After 25 minutes however I was getting pretty annoyed. You wait in the short stay car park & there are cars, mini buses& taxis coming & going all the time it really is very busy. We didn’t now who was coming for us so we had to keep asking each taxi individually. Complete madness. Eventually the taxi arrived & took us back to our car at the hotel. I think on hindsight I would have rather just paid the extra & got into a taxi & saved all the messing about. I will certainly use this hotel again but am a bit wiser regarding the airport transfers.
