Hotel Juli is nice the room are a good size and the maids are helpful and clean the rooms daily. The pool however is not big enough and resturant is basic and would not advise eating there.
The location is good only a few minutes walk to the beach and is close to a nightclub but there is no niose comming from it at night.
As for the Resort itself - If you are going to bulgaria to party all night there is no main strip as such which is a bit of a problem and there is not alot of English ppl out their the resort is full of German's, Danish and Dutch.

this hotel was amazing, i personaly think it did its job, it was right in the middle of sunny beach with both sides of live round you the shoping through the day and night till about 12/1 am on the main strip and the fanstantic night life, packed with bars and places to eat. this had been my second time to sunny beach and i love it more and more everytime i go back, although it is forever changing year by year.
the hotel itself i though was great, but i admit that some people didnt have a huge room unlike we did, (so if you ever get to go and stay here, ask for a room ending in 5 because they are the bigest rooms in the hotel. our room had a double bed, with a long window at the end of the bed which looked onto the street below, then our bathroom had a bath, shower, sink and a loo (which not all rooms had a bath) there was also a wardrob, a large mirror, dressing table, a coffee table, a puff (little fabric stood that fited 2 or 3 people on), a sofa that could easily fit 6 or more people on which came out into a double bed. The fridge, air-con and t.v we didnt need to pay for, which in some place you have to pay for so i was really happy aabout that, out room also had a balconay. overall the room was impressive and would go again but only if i could have one of the 5 rooms, as i have seen some of the other rooms which are alot smaller. The pool wasn't much to look at but was big enough to cool off when you got too warm, also at the side of the pool there is a main road, that people can walk along so sometimes passes-by would look into the complex, but you will find that most hotels in sunny beach have the same problem. The breakfast wasn't much to look at but you could go down the road and have a full english breakfast for less than 8 lev including a cup of tettley tea which you couldn't do in england, but on the plus side the beer in the hotel bar was only 1 lev a pint which is good. the staff at the hotel were all happy help and are reasonalby layed back, my other half managed to put a hole in the wall in our room and the hotel knocked 25 lev off the charger. the club 18-30 reps were ace aswell, been a couple we didnt sign up to any of the pub craws because the though it was a fair bit of money, so the reps left us alone but the reps do some free nights were you paid for your own drinks and whenever there was these free nights we'd get flyers on our door inviting us along. we did go on some of them but it was too much for me as i came for a reasonably quite holiday, but gave it ago. the reps are not pushy and didnt bang on at us or be like parents, they let you get on with your own thing.
i would defently go again, and go with the club 18-30's there amazing and im not just saying that either, it was really a great experience so give it a try!!

After reading slightly negative review, i can definately say i was concerned, however, i am glad to have ignored others! I travelled with 2 other girlies and we had a fanastic time. The hotel is definately an 18-30's hotel, so be prepared for partying til ealry hours! Yes the pool is small, the gasps were so loud as we pulled up, but as they are not that many people in hotel the pool was 100% adequate. Its location is fantastic, as 3 girls we felt safe walking around alone n nipping back 2 hotel as everywhere was well lit and within 2mins of hotel. I woulld recommend this hotel without a blink of the eye and wouldn't hestitate going back, except the weird guy on reception who pretended to s[eak no english and shouted at us that there was no nookie in pool after 9, even though we were just swimming! blugaria is fab and this hotel is perfect resting place x

Dec 2007, Miss A Morgan

Before I went to the hotel I was a bit worried about what it would be like, considering there wasn't a lot of information or reviews on it. However when we arrived I was very pleased. The outside of the hotel looks lovely and our room was nice with all the basics you need, air conditioning, small balcony, fridge, shower etc; The cleaner lady came in everyday to clean the room and make the beds so it was never left untidy.
For me the most negative thing I have to say about the hotel would be the breakfast. There wasn't a lot of choice and things ran out quite often. However this is what I came to expect considering the hotel doesn't have many guests and most of the guests who go to Bulgaria are from other countries such as Germany, Greece etc. Hence the sausages tasting very different and there being a wide selection of cheeses and ham! I didn't find this a problem; breakfast wasn't that important to me, the food was acceptable and if we did fancy a big breakfast we went to a restaurant nearby and paid peanuts for a fry up.
The pool area was ok. It is true about other hotels getting a bit in the way but it only affects your sun time towards the end of the day when it’s starting to get colder everywhere anyway. The weather out there was amazing, got a nice tan. The pool is quite small compared to all the other hotels. I thought this was fine as there are a fraction of the amount of guests and most days we had the pool to ourselves. We spent nearly every day by the pool and can't have seen more than 10 people around the pool at one time in the 2 weeks we were there.
I'm not quite sure what to say about the staff. I thought their moods changed quite often. But that seems to happen in all the hotels out there. What do you expect when the people in Bulgaria have to work all day and night? I'd get a bit grumpy too! I remember seeing the same people working on stalls/ phones whether it was 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon or 8 o clock at night! I didn't really see much of the bar staff as we didn't really drink at the hotel bar, it's so much cheaper to go to a bar across the road! The receptionist was helpful, offering to look after our keys when we were out and smiling when we came back in. It must be hard for them having to talk to everyone in english and they obviously found it quite hard. When you’re walking down the main strip you may think that some of the Bulgarians are pestering you but they are only trying to be friendly! Although, I do warn you to stay away from the grape people, they will put grapes in your mouth and then follow you around trying to charge you! The people waiting outside bars are quite handy if you fancy being given a free bottle of wine or shots whilst you have your meal!
For me, Hotel Juli couldn't have been in a better area of Sunny beach. It's opposite the shops, beach, restaurants, bars and anything else you could imagine. The bars in Sunny beach were amazing. I would recommend Amigo's where the staff are so fun, they set fire to your drinks, dance around blowing whistles, and you can enjoy your drink whilst sitting in a car! I can't remember the name of another great bar, but it was in a little tiki house looking hut and they set fire to the bar and people swung off the roof. There are 2 clubs that I know of (along with some clubs that the men would enjoy ) and one of them (Lazur) had a ferris wheel and water slides! But don't think that Bulgaria only has crazy bars, there were also a lot of places you could go to as a family or for a relaxing drink, Club Mystic being one of my favourite.
Restaurants I would recommend are Chilly Peppers, Happy Grill, the Palace (but only to listen to the great band they have), basically all of them. I had the best meals I've ever had and found it really hard going back to cooking!
Bulgaria is probably the cheapest holiday I have ever and will ever go on! As long as you look in the right places you'll find beers for the equivalent of about 20p, spirits for half the price and ice creams and water working out to be about 5p! Even when we went to the proper shopping mall down the road everything was so much cheaper than over here. I'm not sure if that will change soon though as Bulgaria joins the EU next year.
Overall this holiday was the best I have ever been on! Bulgaria is such a nice place and I am already booking to go again next year. It's cheap, the area's perfect and the people are nice. I wouldn't advise you to go anytime outside the summer though as its cold and they shut everywhere. There's so much more I could write but I think you should find this helpful enough!

The only plus points to this...
3 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr J Fallon

The only plus points to this shambles are it's location and the brilliant bar staff, Tino in particular! Apart from this the rooms are poorly looked after and will look nothing like they do in any brochure I PROMISE!
The surrounding area consists of two much larger hotels which block most of the sun from your hotel pool which is also TINY! The pool is also situated next to a little gift shack which if there is the slightest touch from any pool toy (ball, lilo) the crazy woman will try and charge you 50 Lev for a piece of tat and refusal results in police and/or mafia!
Then there is the night receptionist. This guy could be the worst thing about it! After my friend was short changed by a currency exchange shack over the road (avoid these at all costs), this guy played dumb as if he couldn't understand us! When we asked him to phone the police he said they WEREN'T THERE! It later emerged the girl working in this shack was his girlfriend! However, when we attempted to take food/drink to our rooms his English improved dramatically when he attempted to charge us 50 Lev for the privilege! All other staff are pleasant enough, but don't care about their work as they are so underpaid!
The owner is a joker, one night my friend was drunk and got short changed in a club, assaulted by bouncers and thrown out. In his anger, on the way back to the hotel he punched and broke a sign on the hotel premises. Very foolish on his part but we offered to pay for damage originally being told 400 Lev would cover it (despite being told it would cost no more than 200 to fix!). However when the owner arrived he dreamed up 1000 Lev which we were forced to pay in order to retrieve my friends passport, the day of our departure!

All in all, a total joke!
