Submitted By: Mr A MaguireSecurity is still very good but appartments have became quite run down. Have not been painted for years. Not a lot of maintance being done. No hot water in the mornings when its cloudy as its heated by solar panels. No back up heating system.
Appartment when we arrived were not well cleaned. Fridge was de frosted and floor was flooded in the kitchen.
Equipment is still good with kettle, toaster, Coffee maker supplied. Not a lot of cutlery supplied with few drinking glasses.
Good parking if you hire a car.
Security Box in every appartment at extra charge.

Submitted By: Cr BrindleyThe apartment was spacious enough and the facilities plentiful, with the added bonus of a clean pool.
although being very quiet, you are only a taxi ride away from the busier local resorts and ammenities.
" Not a bad place to go and chill out... "
Submitted By: Mr D GivenIf you are the relaxing type then this could be the holiday for you. Taxis are available to take you to other resorts for shopping and dining.
" Accommodation was really dated. Can't... "
Submitted By: Mrs N HennessyEverything was dated, included 3 bouquets of dried flowers, collecting dust! Veranda furniture was filthy and only had one room clean in the 7 days.
Pool was freezing and furniture well worn and dirty.
3 points rating for staff on reception for being friendly.
Does anyone know of any decent time share accommodation in Lanzarote?
Local market square looked as if it was falling down but the food was good.

Submitted By: Miss H SalazarThe swimming pools are freezing but warmer than the sea which is colder than I’m used to.
There is a really hot guy who works in the bar lol. Matagorda itself is quite dead and the apartments are about a 10minute walk to Matagorda square which has quite a few bars, restaurants, shops etc.
Excursions that I highly recommend are: RANCHO TEXAS - Fantastic fun for all ages.
Grand Island Tour - Which is good especially the volcano bit and the camel ride.
The submarine ride on the other hand is interesting but abit too pricey for the little time you spend on the submarine and we didn't see many fish (no sharks, octopi etc).
Also it's really windy over there as well and very hot. At its peak the temperature hit 36 but you don't feel it because of the wind and remember to use a very high SPF over there too because you will burn very quickly.
The people there are friendly and most speak English and it's very popular with Irish people so there's loads of Irish bars.
" Just back from a very enjoyable week... "
Submitted By: Mrs A RedmondThe Bungalows are very spacious and clean set around a small but nice pool.
Our only gripe is that while the cleaners come every day and washed the floors and generally tidy up, they never changed the bed linen and only once changed the towels.
All in all we had a very pleasant holiday and loved Matagorda. We found it very clean and safe for our two teenage children. Would definitely go back.
" Hi all, just back from Costa Sal and... "
Submitted By: Mr J CollinsThe bungalow was spacious with a nice little front garden. However the cleaning service was nonexistent. I had to complain twice about the fact that our floor had not been swept (I even asked for a brush but was turned down), beds were not made once, linen not changed for the week either, towels recycled from the floor and only changed once.
Other than that we enjoyed ourselves Rancho Texas is a must, Reps will push for the Tues evening however with small kids it is better to go during the day, opens at 9.30 taxi only €4.
Parrot show a must. Bus service is also handy if you are going further afield one every 20mins and cheap. Unlimited food choice only avoid Tex-Mex as they charge you for everything (including bread rolls before your starters, although food is good).
If you get a taxi to the airport try to agree a price beforehand as it can be between €6 and €11 depending on the driver.
Will return to resort next year, although not sure if we will pay a premium again for a shoddy cleaning service.

Submitted By: Ms J PowerWe just love it!! It has to be one of the most relaxing places I’ve ever visited - you just feel like you’re coming home once you arrive into Reception. The facilities are wonderful with plenty to do on site if you’re feeling energetic or, if you’re not, just laze by the beautiful azure blue pools.
The restaurant/bar has lovely food and very friendly staff and there is also a well stocked supermarket if you are going self-catering. The apartments themselves are spacious with views over the pool or down to the sea and are cleaned on a daily basis. However, we did have a rather large cockroach pay us a visit last year twice in one week and Reception could have been a bit more helpful - I was, I admit, very hysterical at the time which probably didn’t help and it was sorted in the end - this was the very first time in all our visits that we had a problem with an insect and hopefully it will be the last. Could not recommend these apartments highly enough - roll on June!

Submitted By: Miss D ReynoldsI'd already been to Lanzarote twice before.
Me and my partner absolutely love it. We stayed in puerto del Carmen the first time and Matagorda back there in sept 2006 at the Sol Lanzarote, which was lovely and we were hoping we got there again but we ended up staying at Costa Sal bungalows.
I shouldn’t have worried, as these were absolutely the best place I've ever stayed in Lanzarote.
My mother and father came with us and to our surprise, we got 2 gorgeous bungalows next door to eachother, in a quiet location of the Costa Sal grounds.
Just right of the bottom pool, we had the pool to ourselves most days.
There was a gate right beside us with a code to get in and out which made us feel safe.
Sol Lanzarote reception was easier for us to use to phone a taxi to puerto Del Carmen, which cost just £4 Euro to get to.
Costa Sal was so big with a games room, supermarket, 2 pools, bar and restaurant and a children’s playground.
Our own reception was a five minute walk away but we didn’t mind, as out the gate lead you to all the bars and restaurants, which were like a 3 minute walk away.
I wouldn’t definitely recommend the bungalows, as they are so big with two large bedrooms, kitchen and dining area and living area and its own little porch and terrace area.
The grounds are well kept and the pools are clean. The restaurant food is lovely and they have happy hour everyday for 3 hours.
The staff are extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to families and couples it truly is worth the money, so much so we're heading back in April 2007!

Submitted By: ardmhacaIt was my first time in Lanzarote, although she had been there before, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations, so much so that we are going back to Costa Sal from 21st April to 5th May next.
The apartments were spotless, friendly staff. Reception, Restaurant, and Bar, especially Andreas, and Brigid, who hails from County Meath in Ireland.
The close proximity to Puerto Del Carmen, and also the Commercial Centre in Matagorda was just wonderful.
We dined a lot also in the Apartments restaurant and Snack bar which was wonderful value for money, excellent staff and service was good.
Our only hope in April is that we get an apartment with balcony facing the sun all day, last time we were in the 800's and we only had the sun for part of the day.
Plus for two 65 year olds, it was a bit of a walk to the Reception/ bar/restaurant area at night or during the day.
Looking forward to returning in April, thanks to all for a great week in Nov last. Padraig and Clodagh. (Armagh and Newry, Ireland)
