We recently travelled to Rome for Easter. We stayed at a small town an hour outside of Rome on the beach called Nettuno.
We booked our hotel online and the Astura Palace is a lovely 4 star hotel situated opposite the beach.
The hotel has recently been done up and was very affordable and of a good standard. We were also fortunate to have fantastic sea view balcony.
Although there is a medieval village and square in Nettuno there is not much else to do in the area.
However we travelled into Rome 3 times and had a fantastic time there. Rome has so many things to offer. Apart from the obvious sightseeing attractions such as The Vatican City and the Colosseum we also discovered the Spanish steps, an amazing water fountain called the Fontana Di Trevi, Piazza Del Popolo and Piazza Navona.
Rome is a fantastic and ancient city and I would thoroughly recommend visiting it.
