Before you write this review off as being written by yet another moaner, let me say that I have had 2 holidays a year for the last 10 years (with Thomson) and have never once felt the need to complain. I do not expect 5* accomodation, food or facilities but I do expect what I have paid hard earned money for, and let me assure you this is not what you will get at the El Trebol.
When we arrived there was no bed made for our daughter and no bedding provided. It took 4 attempts with the unhelpful man on reception before I eventually got sheets and a threadbare blanket. The apartment was dated and basic, and facilities listed in the brochure (Eg kettle, toaster) had to be hired. Our balcony had broken glass scattered across the floor and no outdoor light. The room was mopped twice, towels changed once and beds never made or changed at all.
The food can only be described as disgusting, and was served luke warm. Even a basic cup of coffee was served at luke warm temperature. We ate there twice and then gave up and ate in local restaurants. What really surprises me on this review site is that anyone found it acceptable to eat here. Please believe that we are not in anyway 'posh' people who only eat in the best places. Having stayed in lots of places to compare it to, I can only say the comparison was extremely poor. I can only conclude that the people who thought it was acceptable, live on pot noodles and kebabs at home - sorry but it's true. Lots of people during our week made the decision to eat somewhere else, and I heard people complaining daily.
The rep was extremely unhelpful and did her best not to appear at the hotel at all (I think she had a lot of complaints to deal with) I needed to see a doctor whilst we stayed there and she tried to get me to hand over 50 euros for an interpreter which she said was the only way I could see a local doctor. Big thanks to the guest who put might right and sent me to a local doctor for free.
We didn't have wires hanging out of our room, but I spoke to other guests who did and one whose roof fell in on them whilst asleep. The rep said ' I don;t think there is much I can do to help' !!!!
Overall, this was absolutely the worst holiday we have ever been on and I would never ever recommend it to anyone, in fact at this moment I would never recommend Thomas Cook, as I cannot believe they would put their name to such an awful place.
We will go back to Thomson's in future.

We stayed here for a week AI last week and it was Fab. My little boy who is 3 loved the pools, for toddlers and children they are great, with little water slides and shoots - it can get a bit cold though as they are not heated. The room was pretty basic, but it was clean. The staff were very friendly and the kids entertainment was suberb can't fault the young chap who did the kids disco they loved it. The food was great something different every night and very fresh. Overall good value.

We stayed here for one week all inclusive in august this year, rooms were quite spacious and clean, maids in every day but one, 3 pools, but all absolutely freezing so only dipped our toes, had to be up early to get a sun lounger, the food was absolutely terrible, very repetitive,, the meat all very salty, and just icecream and mousse every day for afters, entertainment was rubbish, kids disco and bingo, then some semi proffessional entertainers, you and i could have entertained better, the weather was crap, very windy, towels blew off sun loungers, drinks blown over, very overcast, the sun didnt come out until lunch time, the staff were all ok, not overly friendly, waterpark was good, markets crap, all selling the same stuff, and loads of kids running riot, as parents too busy boozing to keep an eye on them, wouldnt go here again, dont waste your money on the volcanic day out, take yourself as its so expensive through the excursion,

we have just returned from 2 weeks at the el trebol,4 adults and 2 kids, and had a fantastic time.the rooms were pretty basic but just what we expected, cleaned almost everyday though.good views of the pool from wherever you stop in the hotel from the balconys.the poolside bar was open from 11am everyday and served drinks whatever you wanted as well as snacks such as chips, hotdogs, burgers and ice creams.they run competitions for adults and kids around the pool all day.nightly entertainment was good kids disco, followed by bingo and then the show followed by more kids disco, the entertainer mark was fantastic all the time we was there.the restaurant does give you alot of choice and in main dishes and dessert,so you have to be picky not to find something to eat.the only reason i gave this a 9 out of 10 and not 10,was because we seen a few cockroaches that were fairly big on a couple of nights in and around the restaurant.the bar in the club closes at 11.30pm i would reccomened going into chequers next to the hotel for a good finish to your night.sean there will get you singing allsorts whether you like it or not.but after you have had a few whos bothered.overall really enjoyed our stay there and we are already trying to book for next year.very highly reccomended.

Hey, Well what can i say, i had a fantastic time! I went with 2 of my friends and we stayed in El Trebol All-Incusive, and believe me, it really was All-Inclusive. All of the food was free from Breakfast, Dinner and Tea, All Drinks, There was a really nice pool bar for getting food/drinks during the day, food was not amazing there but it was just for quick snacks really, but the actual main food was really nice, they catered for pretty much every taste. Evenings were more formal where a waitor would escort you to your table and serve you drinks and look after you throughout your meal, Breakfast/Dinner is a little more relaxed where you pretty much help yourself and they just clean up behind you.
The pools were amazing! there was pools ideal for kids in areas that allowed you to relax whilst keeping an eye on them (if you had kids) else there are bigger pools, and even a kids "Adventure Playground" in the one pool, all of which is available all day for use, with pleanty of sun beds to go around however its best to put your towel out early if you want to guarantee to get a good spot as quite a few people get the same idea.
The room service was good, however they dont do anything on a friday/sunday because of changeover they said, this is not so good but hey, i guess you just make your own beds those nights :D.
The Rep(s) well they are fantastic, our Rep was called Ellen NOT Ellena! haha, and she was fantastic, Yorkshire lass that will be very impressed if you go and tell her that a good old yorkshire pudding has to be made with yorkshire water! there is no other way! But no seriously now she was really friendly, made sure we settled in straight away, knew where everything was, how to travel including cheapest ways, where to eat, where to buy things from and where not to buy anything from. Oh yes i better mention, if you are a driving instructor or examiner and have a full set of teeth, stay clear of ellen!! haha no only joking but its a funny story, be sure to ask her if she is there! Oh yes unless you are from yorkshire, dont try and immitate the accent, you will get corrected :D but no she was lovely and she will guarantee to make sure you have a great holiday, she cant help you thought unless you go speak to her, so she is worth getting to know.
There is a fantastic bar built right onto the hotel, called Chequers bar, it is fantastic, I think the owner was called "Batter or Batty" or something and he was awesome, be aware this is not part of the All-Inclusive though and is run seperately. If you go into the hotel piano bar though that is still FREE alcahol and drinks up untill 11pm.
Some of the trips/excursions are amazing, we went on the Yellow Submarine trip which was an experience, not many people can say they have been on a yellow submarine where they saw a stingray and loads of rish and a shipwreck!! Also if they are still doing it, the reps cabaret at the Legends bar is awesome! Well worth seeing they are actually quite talented.
Well dont hesitate, i really can't fault it, book up now and you are sure to have a great time.
Cheers Guys. Stevie. x

Much the same as everyone else as I was a little unsure of what to expect seeing as this hotel has very mixed reviews! But I can honestly say that this hotel is great. I stayed for a week at El Trebol with my boyfriend and we had a great time; nothing to make a complaint about as we felt everything was up to scratch. Yes the apartments are quite basic, but they have everything you need to be comfortable. As for people saying the hotel was filthy, I beg to differ! I thought the grounds were kept clean and tidy and cleaners visited our room every day except for Sunday. In addition, the pool was cleaned regularly too.
The apartment itself was of a good size; sure it wasn't huge but there was enough room to swing a cat...or 5. Equally, the bathroom was a nice size and was clean and tidy. Personally, I was quite impressed with the generously sized balcony in our room, as there was plenty of space to sit and enjoy the view of the pool and surrounding areas from the comfort of our hotel room!
Something I did find quite useful is that the hotel is situated very close to a 'spar' and a similar supermarket (as they like to call it, even though it's more like a larger corner shop). When we first arrived at El Trebol (at about 11pm), my boyfriend and I just went around the corner and found the 'supermarket' to get some food and water, which was very convenient for us seeing as we were quite tired from travelling for a good part of the day. There are a few little bars just outside of hotel too which is handy.
Here are a few little things to pick up on though. To make a small comment on the food; there is enough to go round and it is to quite a good standard too. There isn't a great variety of food, but definitely enough for you to get by, so don't let the food be an issue. For the sunbathers out there, most people tend to put their towels down on a sunbed quite early in the morning which may be a tiny bit of a bother for some. However, my boyfriend and I never had difficulty in finding sunbeds when we really wanted to; it's just a case of looking. Anyway, if that is an issue, you can always take a short walk down to the beach (sunbeds are 8 euros for 2 or 4 euros for 1, they also come with a parasol).
My advice is come with an open mind; don't focus too much on these reviews as some of the negative ones are pretty bad. When you arrive at El Trebol, take time to walk around a bit and you'll discover new places. Also, a taxi ride from Arrecife airport to El Trebol is about 15 - 20 euros. All in all, you're going to a 3 star hotel, so you can't expect a palace! But hopefully you'll be as satisfied with the place as we were.

My husband and I stayed at the Telmessos for one week in June/July, based on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed.
The Hotel:
A central and yet quiet hotel, 2 minutes walk from the main strip of shops/bars/resaurants in Hisaronu. Relatively small and quiet at this time of year - the pool was never busy and it was easy to get a couple of sun loungers next to the pool at any time of day. No loud music could be heard in the evening despite its central location. The pool was a good size and well maintained (the cleanest pool I have seen in Europe). No poolside entertainment, but we were not looking for this so it suited us perfectly. The pool bar is great, staff really friendly and happy to talk to you over a drink. Rooms are small (as they all are in Turkey) but recently decorated and clean. Bathrooms are relatively new with good powerful shower and towels changed every day if you leave your key at reception before midday. We stayed B&B (cereal fruit, bread and Turkish cold meats) and ate out in the town most nights (you will be spoilt for choice). Have to say that the one night we chose to eat in the hotel we were totally blown away as it far surpassed the high standard of food served everywhere else! Waiters are fantastic, very efficient and treat you really well. Also well worth going to the hotel's Turkish night - great entertainment and good food cooked on a BBQ.
*We were told by our rep that the hotel is going to be competely refurbished over the winter so it will look all shiney and new - can't actually say that it really needs it as everything is in good condition but I think they are looking for a more modern style as it is currently quite traditional*
Trips:
Well worth shopping around on the highstreet for these (not through your rep) as you can pick up great value trips for between £8 - 12 per person. We went with Papirus. Try a Turkish bath on your first day, gets all the dead skin off and is really relaxing. We were apprehensive at first but the men are all really decent and professional (Papirus use the Pine Valley Hotel Turkish Bath). A jeep safari is an all day trip including a visit to the second biggest gorge in Europe, traditional Turkish towns, a real sand beach with absolutely nobody else on it, and a mud bath. A jampacked day with lots of road driving, very tiring but definately worth taking a day out to do as you get to see parts of the country that you wouldn't otherwise. We went with Alibaba's Jeep Safari and the guides were fantastic - the safest drivers we saw in Turkey. We also did a 12 islands boat trip and a sunset cruise. The sunset cruise is really romantic and takes you to a small deserted beach where they light a camp fire and you can star gaze for an hour - we actually saw 7 shooting stars! The food on both boat trips was great, BBQ on the back of the boat - trout, mushrooms, chicken, rice and meze.
The resort:
Hisaronu at this time of year is hot! Around 50 degrees somedays. It's a small town but packed with bars and restaurants. Really clean as well. The restaurant/bar staff and the shop keepers were really friendly and did not really hassel you unless you engaged with them - then they just have a good time trying to sell you stuff but it's all good fun. We did try to markets in Fethiye but wouldn't go back again - good experience but very stressful, lots of hassel and to be honest the deals were better in the shops. Next time we are taking an empty suitcase and buying everything when we get there! In terms of currency, it's worth taking it all in sterling and changing it when you get there as the local bureaus do a far better exchange rate tha the UK. Most shops also accept sterling so you needn't change it at all but we felt with all the rounding up and down to convert it we were better off changing it into New Turkish Lira. Restaurant tip - best one we found was Tangos - really good italian and turkish food. Restaurant prices vary - Tangos is probably comparable to the UK but you can (and we did) get a great meal for around £10 each including wine.

We stayed at el trebol for seven nights, the aparments were spacious and clean. The food was ok but not much variety and got a bit boring after a while. checkers do very nice breakfasts next door and huge mugs of tea. (3 euros breakfast, 1.50 for tea), we went there once or twice for a change. The pool was excellent and my son enjoyed the dragon slides and little islands in the pool. If you wanted a sun lounger you had to be up quite early otherwise they would all be taken up.
This is the second time i have visted lanzarote, the weather seemed more windy this time and overcast then it was in september. The beach was only bout a ten minute walk . All day people come around selling things which can get a bit annoying! the beach was very busy but very nice.
The staff in el trebol are mainily ok but the odd one or two were rude and very unhelpful. The entertainment is not the best but my son loved the kids disco. we even have the cd from it and all the tunes are very catchy!!! Overall it was a good holiday we didnt go on any excusions because they were expensive but had a relaxing time around the pool and the beach. If its a laid back holiday you after then costa teguise is the place to go. it was very good value for money booked late off teletext!!

Hi myself and my husband stayed here for a week all inclusive and we have to say we thought it was great, the food wasnt of great variety but it was enough and well cooked which was great for myself as i am funny with my food, the swimming pool was just what we needed as it can get very hot as for people on about the windy conditions we didnt find it too bad at all neither did we find the pool to cold. The staff work very hard there and are very friendly, the guys serving in the bar were great! we would definatly go back next year. We went on the submarine trip while we were there well worth the money it was fab! We also done the wild west night it was good well worth a laugh. It was our first time flying with Thomas Cook no problems at all it was a pleasure, the rep in the El Trebol was lovley as well.

i could not complain about the hotel itself and i would return if i was self catering as the appartments are quite big and are clean, alought for the week i was there my sheets were not changed but i was given clean towels almost everyday.
however the food in the resturant was quite awful and the only thing i could get my 2yr old son to eat was ice cream, they have quite a selection of salad which was nice and fresh but if you wanted hot food it was bland and tastless with little choice of food. all there was for kids to eat was chips, chips and even more chips.
The breakfast is probably the worst meal of the day there scrammbled egg tasted like powder and there sausages were lyk hotdogs, but worst of all they also served chips with breakfast.
They have a selection of ice creams which were all nice but i expected 2 eat more than ice cream for a week.
In the broucher it states that the pool bar serves snacks throught the day all you were allowed was a choice of four things like a toastie, hotdog or fishfingers and yet again more chips.
We ended up eating out at cactus jacks and legends which are both resonably cheap and serve nice food for both adults and children unlike the el trebol.
the hotel itself is in a realy nice location and about a five min walk to the beach, the only thing that lets this hotle down is its awful food.
