Undecided about the Turkin
from York-Ironing
On arrival, which was stupid o clock in the morning, we were 1 bed short in our room - joy sleeping with a child in a small bed! They eventually put a cot bed in for my son, which made the room more or less impossible to move in. The food was - let's say a let down, everything swimming in oil, and certainly not child friendly. The best thing about the hotel was Yasin and Ahmet the bar staff, they were fab. It was the people we met there that made the holiday, i seriously don't think we would have enjoyed it if we didn't meet them. There were many instances of cut feet from broken glass that had not been cleaned up properly around the pool, although after about 10 days they did start giving out plastic glasses, but still glass bottles, which i couldn't quite make sense of! The rooms were only cleaned if you handed your key in at reception, and even then it didn't always happen. The lift kept breaking, and carrying a 2 year old in a pushchair down stairs from the 3d floor was a nightmare, After a lot of complaining, they eventually showed me where the service lift was so i could use that. There were alot of Turkish people staying at the hotel, and they were favoured with the rooms with the best views, i looked over a building site Nice! All in all a lovely holiday but as i said it was the people
You get what you pay for

Just got back from our 2 week stay at the Turkin Hotel Kusadasi. As a family of 4 the cost of our holiday in the middle of August was very cheap and upon our arrival we found the hotel to be exactly what we expected, cheap. We also found it was not the one shown in the picture on the internet, altough it is very similar. Our room was very small for 4 people to share but was clean, if in need of decoration. Maid service was every 3rd day. The hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill and enjoys a very good view of the bay and surrounding hills, it is also very quiet and ideal if you want to get away from the lively town centre which is only a 10 minute bus ride or 5 mins by taxi, both stations are situated directly outside the hotel. The food at the hotel was very poor and there were a large number of people complaining of upset stomachs. We paid for half board but after looking at the buffet style evening meal, which is left uncovered on tables for over 2 hours - a Fly's paradise!, we decided to eat out every night at a variety of the town centre restaraunts where the food was both cheap and excellent. The pool area was the Hotels best feature, however the water was very murky and the floors around the pool were cleaned only once during our stay. Pool maintenance seemed non-exisistant and a number of children suffered ear & mouth infections as a result of the poor hygene standard of the pool, (doctors report from Hospital, also situated across the road from the Hotel). The Hotel staff are friendly but in general speak very little English, to be fair to them it is better than my Turkish. In conclusion the Hotel provided a base for a very good Holiday, We will definately visit Turkey & Kusadsi again. We will not be returning to the Turkin Hotel!!
Excellent holiday

My friend and I are both 24 and have just come back from spending a week at the Turkin hotel. What a fantastic holiday. We didn't pay a lot and feel we got more than our moneys worth. The hotel was basic but very clean and comfortable. The view from our room was breathtaking overlooking the whole City and getting an amazing sun set over the ocean every night, (would recommend you request a sea view at the front of the hotel). Staff are friendly and pool area clean (although there is music playing). Food was ok, we went half board which saved us a lot of money. It was a little repetitative but there was always something we liked. Kusadasi itself was amazing, lots to do. I would most definately recommend the Ephasis day trip. Overall we had one of the best holidays of our lives. I would recommend this hotel!
not bad

Myself and my girlfriend just got home from a week long stay at the hotel and had the best holiday ever. As 2 extremely poor students the price was just about right and living costs are actually pretty cheap. We had bed and breakfast and would recommend you do the same, as the food in the hotel ranges from spectacularly average to inedible, and I did not want to try anything that I knew had been left sitting to warm for hours. Not the most hygienic.... The breakfast was fine if you like bread and jam and to be honest we were more than happy to eat just this every morning. The hotel isn't spectacular and your stay there is confined pretty much to the pool or your room but it is in a pretty awesome location - at the top of a hill next to a bus station with buses every 2 minutes and taxi office. We chose to walk every day instead and a walk down the hill all the way to the beach front and town only takes 15/20 minutes. There are 3 beaches around the area - the one at town is pretty gross and very easily makes you very ill but ladies beach is superb! Very pretty (extremely busy...) and the sea is beautifully clear and warm. Simply get a bus from town to this beach at a cost of about 60pence! The staff at the Hotel seemed kind, though their large inability to speak English probably helped this, as a lot of English speaking people we met seemed intent on selling us everything they owned as fast as they could. The pool was a swimming pool and not much else and the bar always appeared to be open. Our room wasn't cleaned once in our entire stay - the 2 times the cleaner did appear at our door we were getting ready to go into town but twice in a week still isn't that great. Our view was of wasteland behind the hotel but the air conditioning was great, bed not too bad, and we didn't actually spend too much time other than sleeping or chilling out in our room. The town is great for food, we recommend Planet Yucca especially, but watch out for ropey restaurant managers telling you that theirs is the only joint in town that uses bottled water blah blah blah. The best way to judge the best places to eat and drink is to look at the faces of the people eating there! If they look happy it's generally good. If they look depressed.....there's a reason! Overall, you get what you pay for at the Turkin. I'm glad we stayed where we did because it was nice, but I am in two minds as to whether I would go back. If you are looking for a really great budget holiday (especially for fellow young students) then it's pretty sweet but if you are a family I'm not sure how enjoyable you would find the experience. The entertainment is like something out of Phoenix Nights, the food not nice, staff pretty nice, swimming pool good, location great and general facilities average. We had loads of fun on our holiday and the Turkin didn't get in our way a single bit! If you want a great week stay then this hotel should suit you just fine.
disappointed

Stayed here for 1 week half board. So glad it wasn't 2 weeks. The rooms are small and basic. The maid only came once. The food at the hotel was aweful at the beginning and got slightly better near the end, after several cases of food posioning. It was not possible to see the bottom of the pool as it was very misty and the pool toilets are disgusting. The staff were pleasant and the bar food edible. There was entertainment only 1 night, although the bar remains open 24 hours. The view from the hotel is lovely and the rooms air-conditioned. Overall we survived the week but definately won't return and I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families there is very little to keep children amused and most kids would not like the food.
cheap break
from genieKent
just got back fom the turkin in kusadasi. rooms very basic but clean, food swayed between poor and unedible. pool good, with bar at poolside. entertainment once in 2 weeks. location excelent, across road from very good bus station, taking you to the centre in about 10 mins for about 50p each. 2 very good aqua parks within 10 min bus ride. staff very friendly and helpful if you could make them understand as only 1 or 2 spoke basic english. we stayed for 2 weeks, 2 kids aged 9 and 4 and 4 adults. would not go back to same hotel as like a little more luxury than it had to offer, but for a cheap break dont be put off going, would advise go bed and breakfast, we was half board but ate out most nights anyway as plentiful cheap good restaurants in center. in short, if you get a good deal dont be put off going but its realy not worth paying a lot for.
Perfect for a relaxing holiday

The Turkin Hotel in Kusadasi is a brilliant place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing get -a -way. we booked this holiday the week before we went and got a cheap deal,so we werent expecting a lot. However we were very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were basic but clean, there wasn't a tv but that didnt bother us.The room was cleaned and we had clean sheets twice in the week so we couldnt complain at that! The pool area is nice and there is a bar where you can get your drinks and also order food for lunch which was good.Talking of food,we went half board and werent expecting much as previous reviews had slated the food. However we enjoyed the food and had no complaints about it.there was enough for breakfast-cereals,bread,jams,hard boiled eggs, and also the Turkish kind of breakfast like cheese, salami, cucumber, tomato etc.also fruit juice. Also the evening meal was fine, there was lots of choice and something for everybody and we had some nice meals there. The staff are also very friendly at the Turkin, most of them dont speak much English but they are nearly all lovely and the language barrier doesnt cause too much of a problem. The hotel itself is on the top of a hill and there are fabulous views looking out over Kusadasi itself and the harbour where you can see cruise ships coming in. although the hotel is out of main Kusadasi,it is so easy to get into the town centre as there are buses just across the road from the hotel where you pay 1.25 lira per person one way and it takes you down there. All in all we had a fantastic time,we dont have one complaint about the Turkin and are full of praise for it.If you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday go there, you will feel very welcome.
Not great
from slowdown73
This hotel is set on a hill overlooking the town. It has spectacular views but the hotel was a disappointment. The rooms are basic, a bit dusty but there was no TV or fridge. You do get hot water though. I had a nice balcony to my room. Maid service was infrequent though. Food was awful. It was like eating packet food. Didnt like the breakfast at all. Very poor selection of food and flies swarming everywhere. Evening meal wasnt great neither. It does have a nice swimming pool though. Staff were friendly once you got to know them. Although the hotel is cheap, if you're going to stay here I'd leave the food and go bed and breakfast.
Basic but cheap and good
from Maddie_1185
The Turkin Hotel was pretty much what we expected, we booked our holiday through a cheap website and were only really looking for something clean and cheap. It is a pretty basic hotel, with some very questionable decor! It was however, clean and tidy with polite and helpful staff. The views of the front of the hotel are amazing, taking in the pool below, the beach and miles and sea. From our first floor, back facing balcony we pretty much had a big stretch of wasteland. There was also some building work going on around but it did look nearly finished so I wouldn't worry too much about that. We only paid for bed and breakfast, and breakfast was fine. When we ordered lunch there it was probably the worst meal we had in Kusadasi and when it costs under £10 per person for dinner and drinks in town, I would recommend that! The only criticism I would have other than the food, was that our room was not cleaned enough, it was done twice in a week but once was an hour before we left. A quick word with reception will recify this though. Overall though, I would say that you get what you pay for. We paid for a basic, clean simple hotel with a pool and that's what we got.
Not great but adequate

Just back from staying in the Turkin hotel Kusadasi. Not a great place but not the worst we have stayed in.Rooms where small but reasonbly clean, sheets&towels changed regualarly.Unfortunately only one person spoke english the rest was sign language which sometimes could be hard going.Pool was fine and enough sun lounges(plastic).Breakfast was turkish fine for us but same every day(orange juice now and again). The view from the balcony if overlooking the pool is good as it at the top of the hill as you can see over Kusadasi port watching the liners come and go.There is a dolmus station just outside the hotel which takes you into town(8 minutes). There is town beach which is fine but jump on another dolmus & go to ladies beach(10 minutes)much better. From Bodrum transfer time is about 2hrs but sometimes you do have a stop for drinks.I think to sum up the Turkin it is a bit tired and needs a bit of TLC but if all you want is somewhere to put your head it is fine.
We booked this holiday on a halfboard basis we only ever had dinner and breakfast in the hotel once as the food is disgusting not fit for a DOG never mind a human. The entertainment was non existing nothing on in the hotel for the kids or adults they were even turning the... more
