Hotel disgusting
1 / 10
Sep 2009, Diane & David

We booked this holiday on a halfboard basis we only ever had dinner and breakfast in the hotel once as the food is disgusting not fit for a DOG never mind a human.
The entertainment was non existing nothing on in the hotel for the kids or adults they were even turning the lights out at 11'oclock so you would go to bed.
You are not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel you have got to buy it from the hotel which is more expensive even though there is a shop just round the corner the kids were even checked for eating sweets and told to get outside and eat them which i find disgusing the kids that were there were all bored and couldnt wait to be going home which i think is terrible as people pay good money to go on holiday to enjoy themselves one mother had to go out and buy her son a dartboard to keep him amused as the only thing the kids could do was go into the pool.
The staff were not helpful, you had to pay for aircondition which cost us £20 even though it did say in the brochure that you had this in your room, at night all you hear is a dog barking must have slept all day and kept everybody up at night the towels in the hotel were not the best everyone we had in our room had a mark of some sort on it, when you were going for a shower it was hot and cold water that was coming out in the whole the hotel is horrible DONT GO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED wish i had been warned before i booked it but i will be checking the holiday truths before i book another holiday the only thing i can say about this hotel is the seaview which was nice.

worst hotel ever

Jul 2009, yvonne alexander

this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.We would of been better living in colditz, we arrived to be told we did not have a rooms then they wanted myself my sister in law ,brother in law and nephew to share a room with 2 broken beds. However we then had to give them more money to upgrade us.This was a joke the two rooms wre filthy i had to go and buy cleaning materials and gut the place the towels you would not of dried a dog with.Between weddings and barmitza we only had 3 nights peace from the loud music and also moved from the sun beds so they could set this up.The food was disgusting and the area it was displayed was filthy. My balcony looked to were they were pre paring for a barbecue night and the cats wre all over the food ang they were urinating all over the sun beds. The owner was very intimadating he sat there all day watching to see if any one brought drinks or ice lollies in ,My nephew was dragged out of the lift and the owner took his juice and ice lollie of him,my nephew was terified.Look there is no point on me saying any more do not go he was disgusting, and very arrogant and ignorant,if it wasnt for the shack across the road we would have starved, please, please dont go

To start off with, the reason I've...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Mr Len Fleming

To start off with, the reason I've given the Turkin hotel a 1; is because I'm in a really generous mood! We booked in for 14 nights at the Turkin hotel, starting on September 15th, 2008. Incidentally, there is no beach near this place at all. So, if you're a 'bucket and spade' merchant..........forget it! The 'centre' is a dolmus ride away and they are reliable, cheap, plentiful and the drivers are very helpful and pleasant
We arrived late and exhausted, after a two hour journey from Bodram airport. My first impression, as I walked up the entrance stairs and entered the lobby, was that it was so dark and dreary, with the reception desk in darkness. Was this a hotel, or a 'Hammer' film set? A bit of a fuss with the booking in procedure, then we were showed to our room on the 2nd floor. There's only one lift and it's very small. (enough for 4 adults) I pulled the door open, got in the lift, selected the required floor level and.................shock and astonishment......................noticed that there isn't an inner door to the lift. The wall started to go downwards, followed by a door. Then, like a tv programme, the same thing was repeated again until it finally stopped at the level that it was requested to. No inner door? How dangerous is that? Imagine a small child getting a limb trapped in the gap between the moving lift and the wall. There's no doubt whatsoever as to what the outcome of that could be.
Got to the room and, after getting the door opened, I put the key fob in the slot to get the electric on. Had to fiddle about with that for a while before it would work. Then had a good look at the room. What a shambles. The bed covers had holes in, as did the sheets and the bath towels. Being dingy and grey, everything looked as if they'd never had a good wash. The bathroom was dirty. (I later bought a bottle of Domestos and cleaned the whole bathroom out.) Going onto the balcony to see what the view was like, we were greeted by lots of dust everywhere that had come off the vacant ground at the rear of the hotel. The view consisted of three abandoned and rusting buses. An abandoned estate car, with a 'Turkin hotel' sticker on. An old battered car and two tanker lorries. The one nearest the hotel was driven daily to go and fetch water (a couple of thousand gallons at a time, I guess.) for use at the hotel. If the driver set out early, the noise was better than any alarm call! Also, the rubbish bins are kept there. The 'dust up' when the bin men call is an insult to paying guests. Dust everywhere! If you want to avoid this, you can 'upgrade' to the other side of the building. There, you will get a view of the harbour and be over the swimming pool area. The room is exactly the same though, disgraceful. You do get something extra though and that is to be kept awake by the pool side music that goes on 'til about 2.00am. We spoke to a lady there that updated and she said you just swap one problem for another and it cost her £80 to do it, because her son had an ajoining room.
Although being half board, everything was extra. Air con...........£3 per day. If you wanted the room cleaned and the sheets changed, you have to pay extra. Clean towels are also extra. There's no tv in the rooms and no fridge. The staircases had motion detector sensors that switched on the tiniest of bulbs that money could buy and, in the opinion of several guests, it made the stairs a dangerous place to negotiate.
The meals are as basic as it gets and, surprise, surprise, you can get a special cooked meal for.......... wait for it.............. wait for it....................extra! When we'd arrived, we had a salad with a piece of chicken that was smaller than a sparrow. It was disgusting. So was the salt and pepper pots on the tables. I doubt that they'd ever been washed and there was dust and filth over all of them. (No way was I going to pick any of those up and shake them over my food!) The table cloths were full of holes and the area was dreary and miserable looking. First thing the next day, I told the rep (he'd come along to do the usual trip selling routine) that we wanted to get out of there and be upgraded to another hotel. I explained why and he told us that lots of guests complain about the Turkin hotel. However, as it was an internet booking, there was nothing he could do and I was told to contact the people that I'd booked it with. Being an internet transaction, that was the only way to contact the company, so that was out. I decided to look for alternative accommodation and forefit the cost already paid. I did find another hotel, down in the 'Ladies Beach' area and we went there for our second week. I took a little present with me from the Turkin hotel................a tummy bug that was to last for 10 days and several very nasty bites on my leg that I'm not sure where they came from! (There is a pharmacy next to the hotel)
I've never been in a more disgusting hotel than the Turkin and if you are still reading this and wondering what to do, I strongly recommend that you go elsewhere. Keep right away from the Turkin hotel..................it's a hell hole.
You have been warned and now it's up to you.

Been home a week now and just read...

Sep 2008,  Fiona McEwan

Been home a week now and just read the other reviews and am quite shocked! What do people expect - if you want 5 star then you have to pay for it!!!!! This hotel cost us just £33 each for 2 weeks B&B so we were expecting to be in some kind of shack sleeping under the stars so we couldn't believe the value for money we got while staying here. Obviously some things were a bit shabby as it could do with a bit of modernisation in the rooms but the view you have from the balcony is outstanding, right over the sea (just make sure you specify this at time of booking otherwise you get put at back of hotel which has no view at all). The poolside was great, music played all day and snack bar was amazing quality with fresh food served-you were able to see the chef preparing all the fresh ingrediants from the poolside. The salad was gorgeous and no frozen chips were used they were all made from fresh potatoes-you wont get that in many places in Britain! Onto the staff, I can honestly say I have never met staff so friendly, kind and fun in any other holiday resort I've been to. These people work so hard to make sure your holiday is the best ever, getting little pay and virtually no sleep and it extremely annoys me to read some of these other reviews that put people down and slag them off-How many of you can speak as much Turkish as they speak English, I bet none!!!!! Any how I would recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants basic reasonable accomodation and the money you save you can spend at the market, which was a fantastic day out (if your a woman and love to shop). Will definately be back X

Media Travel advised us that no visa...
1 / 10
Sep 2008, Miss S Macbeth

Media Travel advised us that no visa costs applied on arriving to this part of Turkey. This was wrong. They told us it was 100m from beach, which was also wrong, it was around a half hour walk to nearest beach (palm beach), or 1/2 hour on bus to ladies beach.
The food was atrocious, there was no choice of food, and was kept at room temperature which gave my boyfriend food poisning for the whole holiday and was still ill 5 days (that is now and he still ill, dont know how long it will last) after we arrived home. There was only 1 fruit which was watermelon, every day, which got very boring.
The room we were give was 317 right outside was an electricty pylon and the back of the hotel ... we once saw a giant lorry, which looked like petrol tanker which turkin otel was scrolled over, parked up unload what looked like water down a well like thing at back of hotel, very wierd.
On our second day our bathroom flooded before we went out and when we arrived back it hadnt gone down drain in floor, instead what looked like small amouts of sweage had come up. We then complained to reception about this, and was give room 311 (free of charge) with a beautiful see view, but was told not to discuss with other guest that we didnt pay for the seaview, as the staff were aware of lots of problems within the holtel. This room was still filthy, the toilet had never been cleaned it was black inside. The sink and shower were also dirty.
If the vent in the shower was open you could here everything that was going on next door, every conversation word for word, and other things you wouldnt want to hear. And the smell also came through the vent, sometimes it was nice like perfume was sprayed, but other times, and more often, it was what went on at the toilet.
DO NOT STAY THERE. IF WE HAD SEEN THE REVIEWS BEFORE HAND WE WOULDNT HAVE.
EVERY OTHER GUEST WE SPOKE TO WA SUBJECT TO THE SAME FILTH WE WERE,
HOWEVER KUSADSAI IS LOVELY, FIND ANOTHER HOTEL THERE!!!!!!!!!

Aug 2008, Ms K Keenan

As previous reviewer stated.
Arrived early hours of morning. No room booking registered, told would have to find myself and party somewhere else to stay. Tour operater did come to the rescue and we were placed in the Ozka Hotel which was wonderful clean tidy, great staff and good facilities. Was only B and B but glad we didnt stay at Turkin. It was filthy, we were apparently the 3rd party to have been turned away in two days so other guests said.
During stay at the Ozka more people arrived from the Turkin due to so called booking mix up.
It didnt matter to manager that people were with small children, women alone, or women with children. Be very very careful if you are thinking of booking this hotel it is not a good place to go.
If you have already booked go prepared with all your paperwork and contact telephone numbers because you may well need them. Sorry

Well what can I say that hasnt...

Aug 2008, P

Well what can I say that hasnt already been said. This was my and mypartners first holiday together, we read the review after booking and hoped the good ones were true. it got off to a bad start when about 4/5 planes landed at once, once we eventually cleared the airport we got our transfer booked through transfers 4 u. Please please be aware we were told our journey from bodrum to kusadasi would be 1 and half hrs, 3 hrs of siitng on the edge of our seats we arrived, (the driver could not drive, we were petrified, we were rolling down hills and stopped for about half hr for them to have breakfast - we hadnt even been going for long)No one helped us with our luggage and we were just dumped at the hotel. When we got to the hotel it didnt seem too bad (first impressions of turkey werent so great) After a bit of a confusing check in where they didnt speak any english we were shown to our room on the first floor. Although we were very lucky that we didnt have to pay for our sea view unlike everyone else what our room was was well.................our bed was two double mattresses on top of each other, the shower sprayed everywhere and flooded the bathroom and the whole room obviosly hadnt been cleaned before we got there (if u want it cleaning you have to ask!) very tired we went for breakfast hoping for somthing nice............our staple was bread/toast the whole week - not exactly what i was expecting but i cud not stomach cheese, tomatoe, cucumber and olives at that time of the morning. We were wondering what it wud be like for a week here. Once we met our rep things picked up.......we booked excursions and we made our holiday the best but not because of the turkin. The turkish bath is good although watch u dont get burnt cus of the oil after, the boat trip was the best day ever and the turkish night is a definate must. The first night we had heard bad things about the food but thought we would have a look.....needless to say we ate out every single night (blue fish just down the hill and many others are a must) If you venture out the hotel you will have a fab time.......the people running the beaches are great (ok you have to pay but its fab) and you must check out the nikki beach club if u like LA style sunbathing. During ou stay there were two turkish weddings and a celebration which meant most of the hotel was out of bounds ( so 3 of our nights we were confined to our room) You are not allowed t take ur own food and drink into the hotel but please take a large beach bag ladies and its amazing what you can squeeze in as the prices are extationate in the hotel and next to nothing in the shop next door. The total thing tht topped the holiday off was that we had paid for 7 nights on our last day we did not check out of our room as we had only had 6 nights, unfortunatly i went bk to my room and the cleaner caught me and we had to check out .........although we had paid for 7 nights please be careful they count your frst night when ur not even there. Our first night we had paid for was then as we discovered when we were at the airport and flying. After hitting the roof and making a huge fuss they let us have a key to a room to get showered and changed for dinner (be aware also this means you are not allowed dinner if you have dared to eat at the hotel) we then had no where to go apart from the lobby as our transfer was 1.55 in the morning so we slept on the sofas in reception. Also they will tell u u have to pay for airconditioning its not true, if u lift the flap theres a manual button ( take you key off the blue number tag and leave in for the whole day for coool bliss) Please please be prepared for this hotel, i know the saying goes you get wht you pay for but this really takes the mickey. WE were just lucky we didnt spend our time in our room and it was just to sleep in. We booked this as a cheap holiday but by the time you add in the 250 we got through each just for meals we may aswell have gone all inclusive at a 5* hotel. I know some people keep saying we all just winge, but if i tell u i camp and very basic you will take what i say seriously, camping in comparison is bliss
