I have just returned from a holiday in the Ozka hotel in Turkey. It was far from a family holiday. there wasnt a big selection of food at breakfast time and disallowing children toast and cereal on a morning is disgusting. The manager was more like a matron. We finally managed to persuade them to do orange juice with breakfast but they then decided to charge us 4 liera per glass. There was no wheel chair access and no children's facilities. It may be a nice looking hotel but the service is well below acceptable. I will NEVER go back there again.

I have just returned on Sunday there 1/08/10 from a week in the Ozka hotel. I was with my girlfriend and the both of us had an amazing holiday. The Ozka hotle is standard dont get me wrong but is very clean and in a brilliant location. The views over looking the harbour are stunning and the people in the hotel were more than friendly. We met some really nice people there too and the Manageress even came to see us off when we were leaving. Will definately return here, hopefully next year! We didnt like the room we had when we first arrived so we asked for a change, they offered us 2 rooms within hours to choose from. Then when we were leaving, we got to keep our room on until departure time...usually you should be out at 12pm but we were able to keep our room on until 1am the following morning! Would definately recommend this hotel for anyone. We had an amzing first experience in Turkey :-)

I have just returned from my holiday in Kusadasi and stayed at the Ozka Hotel. I have no complaints about this hotel at all. The staff are lovely, the manageress is most helpful and has very good knowledge of English language (better than my Turkish)!. She is very knowledgeable about the local area and often gave advice on markets, haggling, and the true culture in Turkey. I holidayed on my own and must say, I felt very safe staying at Ozka and part of a big family. I am aware a female guest attempted to bring a man in from town after a night out and he was very promptly removed.
I feel as if the complaints on here are about another hotel all together!!?? I had no problems at all. The rooms are basic and everything works in them. I am glad no food or drinks are allowed into rooms - imagine the pest infestation if they were. The towels and linen are all air dried and fresh. The pool area is spotless and the pool and views are lovely. The food is cooked in the open plan kitchen by a brilliant chef and I know all the food served is local and bought in fresh daily. Please give it a try - You will love it there :)

I have just returned from the stunning resort that is Kusadasi, I am a frequent visitor here and have stayed in many hotels. This is one experience that I shall definately NOT be repeating. We arrived at the Ozka Hotel after a long journey at 6am and paid the extortionate price of 70lire for one week of air conditioning, (almost double the price we normally pay). We were shown to our room, and on initial inspection it looked ok. After the long journey we went straight to sleep in the cardboard sheets and awoke sweating very soon after. The air conditioning was not working and despite our attempts of cleaning the air filters (as they were inch think in dust), pressing every button on both the unit and the remote, no joy. We politely informed the manageress of our dilemma to which she replied 'Not my problem!' (a phrase we became accustomed to on this 'holiday'). We complained daily and eventually involved the Thomas Cook rep who was extremely helpful. This went on and on, and on our last night we were FINALLY moved to a room where the air conditioning worked (HORRAY!). We enquired about a refund as we initially paid for a week's air conditioning and received one night, and that familiar phrase again (NOT MY PROBLEM!). The manageress then said to us, 'If you are not happy you can leave'. The air conditioning was atrocious but not life threatening, like the live wires hanging from the ceiling and the plug sockets hanging from the wall. There was mould around the bathroom window and the towels were crispy and grey.
I appreciate this was a cheap holiday, but as I go so frequently to Kusadasi I always choose cheap holidays. This however is NO excuse for the rudeness and poor customer service this 'manageress' possesses. I would definately recommend the resort itself to anybody but if I ever see the Ozka Hotel again it will be far too soon. You have been warned!!!!!!!

This was a good hotel, the rooms were pretty basic and a little outdated. But they were kept spotlessly clean.
The staff were very good and you did not have to wait for anything. The manageress Aysa is a lovely lady and will always go out of her way to help you.
The only downside was that you could not take drinks into your room.

I have just returned from a two week stay at the Ozka Hotel (myself and my 2 daughters). We had an absolutely fantastic holiday and didn't want to come home. Ayse (hotel manageress)is a wonderful lady - and can't do enough to make your holiday enjoyable. We arrived in the middle of the night and our cases were taken to our room for us. After a short sleep we got up to unpack only to find there were only 3 coathangers between the 3 of us (you know us girls take far too many clothes!) and that the shower fixing was broken. However, we reported this as we went down to breakfast and by 11.00 everything in the room was in order. Yes it is a TURKISH breakfast - which basically consists of bread, jam, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese and boiled eggs. But if you have ever been to Turkey you would know what to expect - this is standard. The hotel itself is situated at the top of a hill overlooking Kusadasi harbour and marina and the views are spectacular! Breakfast is eaten by the pool with this wonderful view - you can't beat it! There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and no need to be getting up at the crack of dawn to put towels down! It is set away from the main town but it is easy to jump on a Dolmus - which stop right outside the hotel every 5 mins - and it is cheap to get into the main town. Obviously the benefit of this is that you are not in amongst a busy town and all its nightlife - so evenings at Ozka are peaceful.
The pool is spotless as is the rest of the hotel - the staff never seem to sleep or eat! The rooms are basic - but then as you only sleep in them what do you need other than a bed and a shower? They were cleaned every day. The food on the menu is not extensive but what they do offer is always freshly cooked (I have never seen such large chip butties!) Anyway, half the fun is finding new restaurants to eat in each evening and we found a few that were excellent! (Try the Mayflower in the town - reasonably priced, dancing waiters, free desserts/coffee and a free taxi home!)
As the hotel is relatively small everyone chats and gets to know each other and this can really make your holiday. Ayse even bought my daughter a gift as it was her birthday whilst we were there.
I can highly recommend staying here at the Ozka - if we ever get back to Kusadsi - this is where we will be going!
Keep up the good work Ayse - you have a fantastic hotel and great staff!

I want to start by saying that i've read the other reviews on this site of this hotel, and sat in wonder if the people stayed at the same hotel as we did..!!
Myself and the other british visitors (more like in-mates)served a sentance of two weeks in this place, and it was nothing like the reviews others have given.
I found the room to be basic (travel lodges are better equiped)
Air conditioning is extra (definately 'Air-Con') which you are only told about when your arrive, and most the units don't even work.!!
Breakfast was the same for TWO Weeks!!! Eggs Eggs and More Eggs!! I know this is a typical turkish breakfast, but cereal or fruit would have made a change..
The staff all seemed to have some issues with smiling or even interacting with the customers, maybe they were as down with the place as we were after two weeks in hell.
The site says friendly? hahaha... yeah right
There was no entertainment in the hotel, yet they expected you to buy food and drinks from their so called A'la Carte resturant (more eggs!!)
The towels were like cardboard, or sand paper to tanned skin! hmmm what a pleasure..
Our room was dirty and needed cleaning before we could inhabit it, as did some of the other guests i spoke with.
Please believe me when i say this is basic holiday accomodation, in fact i'd even say they go for the 'retro feel' as this is something i'd imagine it would be like in the 1970's!!!
The swimming pool was cloudy, and rarely could we see the bottom.
Thomas Cook gave this a two star plus rating, i'd struggle to give it one!!
Ice Cream, Bread, Cool drinks etc are three times that of the shop over the road (where i noticed the Hotel Ozka actually shop also !) and yet you were not meant to take any food or drinks to your room? and only eat and drink at their resturant..(more eggs anyone?)
We were on a B&B basis and therefore were expecting to take cool drinks back at least at night, but we were almost interogated each time we came back carrying a bag..!! even souveniers!
We have been to Turkey three times now and without a doubt this has been the worst hotel we have stayed in, and feel sorry for the people who thought this was typical of Turkey, and their first visit, and would not be surprised if it put them off altogether.
On the plus side, it did give us an insight to what life was like during WWI and WWII,
as the soldiers must surely have sufferd at the hands of the people running Hotel Ozka..aka Stalag Luft 15..!!

Have just returned from my first holiday in Kusadasi, Turkey and wow... what can I say! The resort itself is fantastic, historical landmarks like Ephesus and house of Virgin Mary, so much to see and do, stunning beaches and never ending sunny skies! The Ozka Hotel was brilliant! Covering all the basic requirements, the staff were very friendly and ever so helpful, catering to your every need! The food was pleasing, catering to many nationalities. Continental breakfast was healthy and very enjoyable! A favourite of mine was the freshly pressed Orange juice! The hotel is family run and Ayse, the manageress, went out of her way to keep us happy and feel at home! All in all a great experience, a wonderful hotel and I look forward to seeing everyone again when i return next year!

I had the pleasure of staying in the Ozka Hotel for two weeks. What a lovely, clean, relaxed and jovial atmosphere. It was worth every single penny.
Ayse and her staff are all so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. I have a special diet and Ayse herself cooked all my meals for me personally! Where else would you get service like that?
You are treated as a guest and not just as a room number.
I am going back to the Oska this year (June - July 2009) - my holiday is booked and I cant wait to see Ayse again. It's the best service I have ever received (and I am quite well travelled).

My family a I have been visiting this hotel for six years now. It has a great family atmosphere the staff cannot do enough for you. The manageress is absolutely fantastic and goes out of her way to help all her guests, and helps that her knowlegde of the English language is brilliant. I know many visitors feel the same as my family as many guests have been visiting for over 20 years!! which says a lot in itself. It's true there is no additional entertainment facilities but the hotel does not proclaim to have them, so if people have complained about the lack of these it is not the fault of the hotel. My family and I will be returning agian in 2011. Looking forward to it.:))
