I used this hotel as a stay for when I went out with a group of friends for a celebration.
The hotel was open all evening so we didn’t have to be back for any particular time, which was one of the reasons why we opted for this hotel.
It isn’t in the centre of Wakefield however the reception can arrange taxi's for you and it only took 5 minutes. Wakefield has very good links to Leeds, Halifax, Bradford, Sheffield etc.
The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable and was decorated in neutral colours, it was well maintained and the staff were very helpful.
I would use this as my first choice if visiting again.

Holiday Inn Express Wakefield is close to junction 40 M1 ideal for business travellers and visitors alike.
Good open reception area combining a meeting point, Reception and Bar/Restaurants. The rooms were good quality and comfortable.
I found the bar to be fairly expensive and was sometimes lacking in the barperson being available.
The breakfast was continental or cooked on a buffet style serving. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
