Munamar Hotel
, IcmelerMunamar Hotel reviews
The Munamar is a lovely hotel, in a nice location on the beach in Icmeler. The rooms are furnished well, the food is good, but as in previous review, is spoilt by the eastern european guests who definitely do store food at their tables, lack dress code, are rude and indifferent to every other guest. The children were allowed to run around the restaurant, with mamma pushing food in her little angel's mouth as the kid passed her screaming and shouting.
Would return, but it would be nice to see more English people there as we found we did not speak to another English person for three days after our arrival! Also, the kids screaming all over the place didnt help! Would be nice if it was kid free, or otherwise, they should provide some entertainment for the kids.

we have just arrived back after a lovely holiday. BUT we were upset at the behaviour of alot of the guests from east europe! ie lack of dress code at night, storing food at the tables meal times, and noisey until early hours of the morning. we do not expect this in a four star hotel! the staff tried their best! but it needs strong management to curtail bad behaviour.

This is not a 5 star. 3 star at best. Good location, tired hotel with appalling food and bar service. Avoid.

Booked this holiday at short notice to give my wife a rest from looking after her poorly Mother. Location was first class immediately adjacent to the beach. The trip to the mud bath, hot springs and turtle beach were also excellent. The hotel itself was very 'tired looking' for a 5 star. I shall be blunt for the next part - The food was the worst I have experienced in 20 years, we never saw any lamb beef or pork during the entire 2 weeks unless they were within an unrecognisable stew, the bar service and quality of drinks was appalling and god forbid if you asked for a cocktail. The staff were harassed due to understaffing and there appeared to be an awful lot of managers around doing nothing at all. In short this is a 2 star hotel in an excellent location. Recommend you take room only and eat locally. Back to a real 5 Star in the Dominican Republic for us. Oh forgot to add Staff informed us that they were all being sacked at the end of October

Well just got back from Icmeler. Every year we went to Marmaris. For a change this year to Icmeler. Lovely place. Although it was very empty everywhere(last week of september/first week of october), the weather was lovely.
When we arrieved we didn´t get the room we were sold. We paid for sea view but they gave us a room at the backside. Munamar is a very clean hotel. The rooms are clean and proper. The food is great but a bit cold.
The staff are brilliant and cannot do enough for you. Great chemistry between Sophie and Eray from the entertainment. They even know how to make a bingo evening funny!!!
Didn´t have to fight for sunbeds as there were always some available.
Enjoy your holiday Julie

On arrival we were informed no room was available at our chosen hotel (Marti la Perla) so we were being upgraded to the 5 star Munamar. This hotel had nice clean rooms, good housekeeping, fresh towels daily and generally good staff. There was plenty of choice of food in the dinning room but after a few days it became very repetetive, an A la Carte Italian resturant allows one visit per week. The attractive pool area had some good shaded spots with good staff on hand to ensure your enjoyment. The hotel has its own beach area (coarse sand) sunbeds were free but matressess cost 5 lira ( £2.50) per day. The all inclusive bar menu was very limited, local vodka, gin, raki, beer, wines and soft drinks, tea and coffee are also available. Cocktails and imported drinks are very expensive, and ALL drinks after midnight have to be paid for. Icmeler has plenty of good bars and resturants, food is a little less expensive than U.K. prices but drinks are not, local beer is good and reasonably priced. There are a lot of jewellery shops and mini market shops, most of the others sell tourist tack or fake brand names, friendly hassle and haggling are the norm. Busses are cheap and frequent, boat taxi to Marmaris is 15 lira (£7.50) return. A day cruise on one of the local boats is well worth the 20 lira (£10) charged, this includes sun beds and a meal cooked on board while you swim or snorkel or just enjoy the scenery.

Just got back from Turkey . Every year we go and had a great time. As we have been to Icmeler before and always wanted to go to the Munamar we thought blow it lets spend a week here.
After a long journey arrived at Hotel No Room due to the weather.Rain and Thunder storms. We had our doubts regarding this as for many years we have been going to Turkey no probs,As soon as our bookings came through and we saw Gold Trail doubts were setting in.
Was given a Family room until they could give us a room. Four adults with three single beds, (was promised a extra bed, this did not happen. )
After a night with no extra bed , sheets or pillows we did eventually get a great room.
After this i cannot say anything bad about the Hotel. Great location especially when you see where a lot of people were getting dropped off. Staff all very nice. Rooms cleaned .
Restaurant was good. Food was good. (Please remember this is Turkey .)Staff work exceeding long hours approx 14 hours for very little money approx 120 turkish lira.
They have been doing this since April.
Sorry to say if you do not get what you have paid for shout.
GOLDTRAIL are not good Operators anyone else are brilliant.

the munamar hotel is rated a 5 star hotel i feel i need to write this review to inform other would be holiday makers what you get for your hard earned money you save all year for.when we arrived we did,nt get the rooms we were sold the excuse was it was high season ,ok but i booked in february so should,nt have been sold to anyone else,,the food was good to start with but by the second week went downhill, senoir bar staff somehow in my opinion was reluctant to mix cocktails for our party and we had to take the initiative and mix our own, baring in mind we had paid quiet a lot for this holiday and had already paid for these drinks i was rarely given eye contact ,didn,nt even smile, other bar staff were ok though.one morning my husband woke me up chasing a cockroach in our room and we were sent a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit .basket and the room was sprayed ,all in all this is not a 5 star hotel we,ve stayed in 3 &4 star hotels and had friendlier service.I,ve waited til now to write this review to see if i could redeem some good qualities for their aftercare service, members of my family went scuba diving and were given the wrong dvd of their day ,we,ve phoned, emailed,to ask the hotel to help but still heard nothing (although this is not their fault it would be nice if they could help as they are our only contact with icmeler)

This being our first time in Turkey but being told how wonderful it was and how friendly the people are we were a bit disappointed. On arrival the rooms that our family had booked back in February were not available they were supposed to be on the 5th floor with sea views and adjoining. We never got these which turned out not to be a bad thing as we were told that many people did not like the top floor as it was to hot and the balconies only had a view if you stood up due to the height of the solid part the balcony. The rooms could do with being up dated but they were clean. The food was of a good standard but I must say it was somewhat repetitive after 4 days it seemed all to familiar.
Moving on to the intertainment side of things not much to say as there was none to speak of, a singer with guitar player once a week was about it the rest of the time it was music from the bars sound system. The pool area although clean and enough poolside beds to be able to get one everyday was not designed with younger children in mind, as we have a 3 year old it would have been better if the water was not 5 foot deep everywhere. There were not really any activities put on for children of any age that we could see although there was a small kids room with some very basic toys on the floor. The other thing which we have not come across before on all-inclusive 5 star hotels is no ice -cream or snacks unless you paid which was a pain as both our children like these in vast amounts when on holiday as most kids do.
The bar seemed to have a strange system of service where as the Germans got table waiter service on a regular basis where the rest of us found the only way to get a drink was to get our own. The attitude of some of the more senior bar staff also left a lot to be desired with only the occasional smile if you were lucky. In fact on occasion we were ignored completely and talking to some other British people there they felt the same way.In my honest opinion the hotel is not a 5 star and is maybe only a med 4 star at best.
