Fantastic hotel and resort
The hotel is wonderful and quite set up in the hills away from all the noise and heat. Very clean with a lovely pool. Food was very good, no complaints. Staff could not be any more helpful. Would really recommend you staying in this hotel, you will be really surprised, the staff are just great, well done Tibet as you say ''we aim to please everytime'' and you did not lie. Also the local area is un-spoilt with so much to do, we need to come back next year.
Perdikia Hills Resort,ovacik
My family and I are just back from a fantastic 2 weeks at the perdikia hills resort, which i believe lives up to its 4star rating. I would recommend this resort to anyone and would definatley choose it next time if we go to turkey. The steep hill is not as bad as i thought, yes its long and yes it can be a killer in the afternoon heat, but its not like yr climbing a mountain, its just a gradual incline. My 4yr old walked up and down a few times and was fine.it took us around 25mins to walk to hisaronu and we got a taxi back for around 10lira. The service and cleanliness was amazing,we had the cleaners in everyday with more towels than we needed. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony at the front and back. we had asked for a one bed 1st floor apt,but were put in a ground floor one, there was a playground at the back so i could see my son from the window if we were inside and not to mention the lovely big hammock in the garden over looking our terrace...the apt was perfect for us so we stayed in it for the 2 weeks. The food was amazing, the breakfast was healthy{other than the fried to dead frankfuters} ,we loved it,loads to choose from.Dinner was really good too and they have theme night everyother day like,BBQ,steak and turkish. There was an extra chrg for the steak night of £8 pp if you were HB and for others it was £10. we tried it the first week, you can still have the reg dinner if you don't fancy steak though. The pool was spotlessly clean with not even an olive leaf floating in it let alone anything else. The resort was quite busy the 2nd week but we still always managed to find sunbeds, although i did spend a lot of time in the hammock! Another good thing about this place is all the activities are free, such as the pool table, tennis and table tennis, which i have been charged for in most places i've stayed before. The staff are a credit to this place,I would like to make a special mention to Emine,Eray,Ismael and tibet{the superviser} who were very attentive and effiecient. Tibet even drove us into Fethiye one day, as he was going that way he offered us a lift! There is a water park just round the corner that might keep some kids entertained,it looked alright, but not too sure about the health and safety side of things. There is a free shuttle that takes you down to the lagoon everyday at 10.30am and is there to bring you back at 4pm. As the resort is set up in the hills it is cooler than olu and hisarou and the evenings were very pleasant. we only got aircon for our last week as it started to get a bit warn in the apt at night.aircon chrg at £4 per nite. I would give perdikia a 10/10 as i felt everything was perfect and the location didn't bother me or my family,in fact we were grateful for the peace and quite and listening to the insects at night and looking at the stars above! ahhhh,i want to go back!!!
Fantastic!
We have just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at the Perdikia Hills Family resort. The Perdikia complex itself is small and welcoming and the staff are always on hand to help. The apartments are a very good size and cleaned daily and the towels changed each time. Bed linen was changed at leats 3 times during our stay. Air conditioning is charged for daily but you can pay at the end of your stay, its approx £6.00 per day depending on the size of your apartment. Everyone from the cleaners to the manager were happy, friendly and approachable. There are some daily activities organised by Tibet, which include pool tournaments and water polo but nothing too energetic. On alternate evenings, entertainment was laid on in the form of various dance groups etc., To be honest we would normally stay away from this, but it was actually quite good - although watch out for the belly dancers!!! have your running shoes at the ready! The entertainment both during the day and evening was just right. The pool is a good size and there is a segregated area for small children. Lilos and floats etc., are provided - probably left from previous guests. There is a small but adequate gym which is air conditioned but would only be suitable for two people at once. There is a sauna and massages available at extra cost. The food at the complex is excellent. If you are having breakfast, there is a large selection of meats, fruit, cereal, juice, bread/toast, coffee or tea and eggs. Some days there would be beans and sausage also. Lunch is just a menu of sandwiches, hot dogs burgers etc., and if you opt for the evening buffet - £10 per person, you can eat as much as you like. The food is excellent. The drinks are a little more expensive than in town, but thats to be expected. The draw back for us was that there is no shop on site. It is a couple of minutes walk from the complex - down hill going but a bit steep on the way back in the heat. Not good for those with walking or breathing difficulties. Everything is on a tab - Sign for everything you have each time and then take your chitty to reception and pay daily. This prevents mistakes and helps to keep track of spending. If you want to get out and about excursions are a must, but you can get these alot cheaper if you shop around in town. You will find that that they are cheap and excellent value for money. As with previous reviews, this complex is in Ovacik not Hisaranou, however this is a bonus. The area is quiet and has lovely views although still being developed slowly. Hisaranou is 30 minutes walk or 5 mins on a dolmus, 2 tl each. It is quite touristy and would highly recommend Oasis restaurant, opposit the Go Karting. Unlike many other eateries this is a Turkish restaurant run by an English lady. The food is excellent and the waiters give you just the right amount of attention without being pushy. Very competitively priced. The town of Oluz Deniz is not accesible on foot. You would need to get a taxi or dolmus in an evening, again touristy but a little more upmarket than Hisaranou. Each day you can take the complimentary resort bus to the lagoon and return at 4pm. Its worth paying the 3 lira to go on to the lagoon. There you will find the usual water activities and it is safe for all the family. Overall, we can not compliment the complex and the staff enough. If you are looking for a restfull holiday with some activity and the choice to be in the thick of it or relaxing in peace, in a beautiful location this is the resort for you. 10/10 and we will be back to do all the things we couldn't fit in this time.
Clean, Friendly & Quiet
Don't let this next bit put you off....the Hotel appears to be advertised as being in Hisaronu when booking via Travel Republic. It is in Ovacik and is at least a 30 minute walk into Hisaronu. Nothing much happens in Ovacik and the hotel is located high on a hillside away from the main roads. If you are unfit or infirm this hotel would not suit you unless you could get a ground floor apartment and rely upon taxis to get up and down the hill. The cost of a taxi to Hisaronu is 15 Lira (£6.00) so the cost soon adds up. All that said, the hotel is lovely. It is fairly new and they seem to still be working on the main hotel reception area. We were put into a hotel room and not the apartment we booked on the first night. A bit a nuisance given that we would have liked to unpack but we were eventually moved to a duplex apartment around midday the next day. We had only booked a single roomed apartment so the room each with ensuite was very welcomed. The rooms were spacious and very clean and tidy. The maid service is daily and there were fresh towels and the obligatory folded swans on our last evening. The staff at the hotel are friendly, in particular the reception area. They assisted us by calling the travel agent for our airport transfer on our return (I had called twice on my mobile and was told to call back later). The plants in hotel grounds were in full bloom during our visit (22nd to 29th June 2009) so it looked very pretty. The pool is a decent size if you like a bit of exercise during your holiday. Breakfast is traditional turkish (tomato, cucumber, boiled egg, cheese, cold meat - looked like spam - olives and bread). They also have cereal and melon and yoghurt. We walked into Hisaronu in the evening which took over 30 minutes at a reasonable pace. On the way along, stop in at the New Home Cafe (purple railings with b&W pictures of Hollywood stars) for dinner. It was good value my Mum felt it was the nicest meal of the holiday. The town centre has lots of neon but don't be put off by this. You can have a choice of quieter or busier bars. We liked the Tango bar which was just at the start of the pedestrian area on the left (below Talk of the Town). Ali the bar manager is very helpful. He picked apricots off the tree in the grounds, washed them and presented them to us. A nice touch. Back to the hotel. The only criticism I have and one thing I would suggest you watch out for is the bar bill. They do not take money at the bar and tote up the bill at the end of the day and pass this to reception. Our first bill was 10 Lira (£4) over on the first day and I was overcharged another time as I had not taken a proper note of the cost of an ice lolly. It's a bit of a nuisance having to keep this in check as you're supposed to be relaxing, not doing sums. Apart from a chicken salad on the first day, we didn't eat in the hotel or join in with the entertainment so I cannot really comment on this facility. The salad was fresh and only cost 6 Lira and enough for lunch.
Would highly recommend!
We had 10 nights at Perdikia Hills and loved it. As previously mentioned the rooms had limited resources in terms of cutlery/crockery etc., but since we were only using the rooms for breakfast this didn't really affect us. We had 2 apartments between us and found the staff very helpful and friendly, the rooms clean and generally a lovely atmosphere. The few issues we did have was that there wasn't really enough information about the surrounding area in the rooms and could have benefitted from an information pack. We had a lovely meal at the restaurant on the BBQ night with the Belly Dancer and decided to eat there a few nights later. Unfortunately (maybe because it was the start of the season) there was limited choice of food. There is quite a walk into the main town but we enjoyed the exercise - especially with all the lovely food we had. Overall a lovely time and would thoroughly recommend.
This place was excellent!!
Just come back from a week at the Perdikia Hill Apartments. We had a brilliant time. Staff were superb and the whole place was clean and very nice. Pool was very good with very little chlorene. We upgraded to half board from self catering before we left as it was only an extra £36 per person per week and although it was a basic breakfast and evening meals they were good enough for what we paid and cheap enough that we could eat out without counting the cost. I like my food and didn't go hungry as they have a soup starter/mezze and main course evry night. It's about a 20 min walk into Hisaranou where all the shops/bars/clubs are but you can catch a Dolmus for 1.5 TYL 200 yds from the apartments on the main road. Olu Deniz is the beach resort nearby and the hotel run their own mini bus down there at 10am and pick you up again at 4.30pm if you want a change from the pool. Very quiet setting with no noise as it is set 200 yds back from the road in a quiet area. If you want to do any trips like the jeep safari or boat trips whilst you're there check with the hotel manager (called Volkan) as he could get some things cheaper than being offered by the many booking agents in Hisaronou or the holiday company reps.
A wonderful surprise!
My boyfriend and I set our hearts on Olu Deniz and he found us a great two week deal to Perdikia Hill. It sounded to good to be true and was waiting for the catch...and I'm still waiting! It was BRILLIANT! The complex was clean and quiet with a really nice communal atmosphere. The staff were helpful and the rooms were spotless. We had a self catering apartment - it was spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable - I wish I could find a flat in London that was as good! The pool was lovely and while there was a buffet restaurant and evening entertainment, we only stayed in once. It is a short walk downhill to the main road were you can hail a local dolmus (minibus) to the nearby towns Fethiye, Hisaronu, Olu Deniz etc. The only thing I would say is that Hisaronu and Olu Deniz are a little too touristy for us, however the fact that this didn't upset our holiday at all is just testament to how great Perdikia Hill and the Turkish people are! I can't recommend it enough! xx
LOVED PERDIKIA HILL
Like the other review, we too were sent down the hill to the milky way apartments on our night of arrival, due to overbooking. Next morning, we were brought back up, given free breakfast and checked into what seemed the best apartment in the complex. Two balconys, clean, spacious, good air con. This complex is a true picture of what you see on their website www.perdikiahill.com My wife and I had a fabulous 2 week holiday here and did many day trips (some just by dolomus white mini bus to Fethiye, Kaya the gost town and up into the mountains from Olu Deniz to breath taking views which is part of the Lycian way walk.) Organised day trips we were picked up and went to the Gorge, the mud baths and a 6 island cruise. On our days spent by the pool at perdikia hill they were so peace full and relaxing. The only bad thing i have to say is the hill up to perdikia. Very steep at the end of an evening after a meal and a few vinos, but apart from the hill youll love it!
Clean and well maintained
Due to overbooking we had to spend the first 2 days in the Ova resort. Quite nice but small rooms and sunbeds toweled up by 6.00 a.m. By contrast, when we got to Perdikia Hills on the Monday the rooms were large, clean and well maintained. The pool was a good size for the number of apartments and you could get a bed by the pool at pretty much any time. Staff were polite, friendly and couldn't do enough to help you. Maid service in your room every day if you wanted. Walk into Hisoranu was OK but in August it was hot. To get anywhere else you need taxi or Dolmus. Turkish people are very friendly, jeep safari is mad but fun, sadly, the week we came back 2 people were killed so think before you book. Watch out for paraglisers landing on top of you on the olu deniz promenade Loved it - if I go back to turkey it will be Perdikia Hills!
Great place to stay
Perdikia Hill Hotel is set up further up in ovachik area, there is also a Perdikia Resort Hotel in centre of Olu Deniz area too. However the Perdikia Hill, I can honestly say was 4* accomodation! Brochures did not do it justice. The apartments are one bed, two bed and they also have villas! Very exclusive property. Even a local Turkish Proprietor came to use hotel! So that is saying something! You can change or board when you get there and even eat as you go - pay as you go. Hotel rooms are lovely and spacious. Air con, fridge & self catering facilities in apts. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite and went out of their way to accomodate. In fact the staff made the holiday. Security on property as nights! The hotel hold their own entertainments every other night. A Stroll down the road, brings you to Hisarnaru, but transport is advisable at night! The hotel operates a shuttle bus to the the famous beach & blue lagoon near by. Only downside to this property is the distance away and having to get taxis. The drive up to the hill can be very dark at night. However, it is a beautiful place to stay. Staff a credit to them!
