Spent a great week at the Keskin. Our room was a bit in need of modernisation but it was kept spotless which is the most important thing. The towels were changed daily with the maid organising them on the bed in various arrangements - butterflies, flowers, hearts - a nice... more

Overall, we had a marvellous holiday in Dalyan (me + 2 kids), and would definitely go back there. However, I would probably go to a different hotel for the following reasons: Things we liked about the Keskin: Clean, comfortable rooms - but basic Lovely large manicured... more

We stayed in one of the new build apartments - clean & comfortable, not big but fit for purpose. We were told by others that the new accomodation was better than the older part of the hotel. Very nice swimming pools (3) with very pleasant staff at the hotel bars local to... more

We were shown to a dirty room. The pool was full of children on lilos with water pistols and unless you got up at 7 a.m then you did not get a sun lounger, we sat and watched a couple of people walking round putting towels on them all. The breakfast was poor with stale... more

We booked this holiday at the last minute not knowing what to expect. When we arrived our fears were completely dismissed. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds that are tended daily. The room we had was large, very clean and modern with good air con at no extra charge. All... more

A stroll along the river path from the town centre, so a little quieter than the town hotels. Excellent buffet breakfast, good, basic lunches and evening meals, genuine friendly and helpful staff, clean airy, good sized rooms with a balcony and air conditioning (try and... more

We booked our stay at the Keskin in Dalyan as a last min deal. When we arrived at the hotel it sup parsed all my expectations. There are 3 pools with an abundance of sun loungers, there was not a day when we could not find a bed around any of the pools which was excellent.... more

Keskin " brilliant will return next year"
Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Keskin Hotel, what can i say that hasent been said in previous reviews about this hotel. we stayed B&B and the only 1 criticism i could make was the breakfast which was very ordinary, but everything else about this hotel was wonderfull, friendly staff, clean rooms , and situated ideally a short walk into Dalyan where there were plenty of fatastic places to eat , every meal we ate was beautifull lots of choice and cooked to perfection, after a hard day sunbathing and drinking cool lager shandy's by the pool it was a short slow 15 min walk to Dalyan centre for a meal, and a drink, and a brief look around the many shops Dalyan had to offer , a tip for the guys blindfold your partner girlfriend or wife whilst finding the many watering holes in Dalyan as there are far to many shops to distract the female species in there quest for fake chloe D&G bags etc to show of when they get home. in short a great hotel with Dalyan on the doorstep which is brill, plenty to do for those who want to explore, if your undecided "just do it " as someone once said . YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED .
Keskin Hotel is a real gem, well located and suitable for all ages.
We've just returned from Dalyan and stayed at the Keskin Hotel. The hotel is extremely well maintained and clean and location is perfect in Dalyan. It is within walking distance to all amenities, yet away from it all. Beautiful foliage and flowers and well planned pools with easy access to all rooms. The mountain as a backdrop is atmospheric and there are lots of varied excursions on offer. The river is a few metres away and the walk is highly pleasant with a few restaurants along the way. Turkish food was varied and thoroughly enjoyed home-cooked food at Saki by the river across the Lycian tombs. Another homely place was Altin Tava for deliciou pancakes - savoury and sweet. Enjoyed being at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis and trying different restaurants in Dalyan.
Can't wait to go back!
I cannot praise the hotel too greatly or the resort of Dalyan for that matter. Dalyan is a beautiful place and the boat trips on the river as not to be missed! The view of the mountainous backdrop from the beautifully laid out hotel is quite awesome. The hotel has three large pools and there is more than adequate room within the expansive hotel grounds. The hotel's lawns and spectacular plants are watered liberally on a daily basis (where does all the water come from in this great climate?!) and the only surprise to us is that it is still only a three star hotel! The breakfasts are good and there is plenty of choice. We were delighted with our room, plenty large enough, very hard working cleaners and the fresh towels are occasionally arranged in heart formations on the beds. It is just a two minute stroll from the hotel to the river where a path leads into the centre of Dalyan ( just a ten minutes walk at a wandering pace). It's probably been mentioned before but please remember to be mosquito protected at all times. We arrived early one evening and quickly went out to have a look around, foolishly unsprayed, and in just a few hours we managed to get about 50 bites between us! Good mozzy sprays can be bought locally. All in all, a fantastic holiday - we can't wait to return there!
loved it!
When we booked a very late deal to Turkey, we expected very little, we just needed to get away and chill... and hey... we dropped so lucky! The Keskin was ideal, the rooms were bright and clean, all three(!) pools and the gardens around them were well tended, the staff were friendly. and helpful... especially the bar staff! Even the reception staff who sometimes seemed a bit distant couldn't avoid being helpful! :) As for location, well.... 100m away is the river walk into Dalyan past other (interesting and cheap) hotels and restaurants. Quite often, we failed to make it to Dalyan town itself, whiling away the evening in one or other of them. Time for a special mention... The Yoruk Obasi ... great food, friendly and efficient service and excellent value. There are so many things to recommend about Dalyan, the river, the lake, the mud baths, the friendly people, the boat trips, the Turkish baths, Kaunos, the rock tombs, the restaurants, Iztuzu Beach, turtles, the scenery..... I could go on and on (can you tell?) All this and only one negative point.... the mozzies! But get the right spray and they're hardly noticeable... It's so relaxed, and easy to enjoy oneself in and around Dalyan, it's no surprise that people keep returning year in, year out! .....We're going back in 7 weeks... woohoo!
Keskin is Fab
As the Keskin is only a 3 star hotel we were very pleased with it. We had a large room, 106 something like that which fitted easily 2 adults 1 child very comfortably. Use this room no as a guide. Pity the road was not tarmac and the area around the pool slippery, most guests took a nose dive. One gripe, they do not sell ice creams, needed in the afternoon. But very clean. Guests were lovely when we were there, friendly, relaxed & courteous as its the type of hotel that has a lot of return bookings. Thank god its not a place for loud teenagers or lager louts but families with small children and older couples which makes it peaceful. Can't wait to go back but have tried to book direct but have had no reply to date. Word of warning, if you book with a bucket company you will probably get an attic room without balcony.
Things you should know
stayed at the keskin for the last two weeks good hotel clean rooms and great showers but try and book the new block unable to eat food there as it was uncovered and full of flies i even offered to by some nets to no avail take plenty of mossy spray as there are thousands of the little beggars do not use kordack toursin the town as 10 of us were ripped off on two trips otherwise a nice place
Lovely hotel
We have just returned from the Keskin. It was our first trip to Turkey on recommendation from my sister who stayed at the Keskin last year. Overall the hotel's grounds and pools (3) are excellent. I think we drew the short straw with our hotel room as it was very small and dark and the balcony impossible to use as the air con unit from the other room faced onto our balcony and just was constant noise and blew hot air out. Also our room being on the ground floor by the stairs was noisy with everyone congregating at night to say "goodnight" etc. On a good side re the room it was spotless and clean towels every day. You only sleep in a room, but it was a downside to our holiday. We are definitely thinking of coming back next year would request a room in the new block that has just been opened this year with another great swimming pool. Dalyan itself is beautiful and well worth going to if you like a Turkish atmosphere rather than "fish and chips" and a "sunday roast"!! Food is excellent. So much to do in Dalyan as well, and not enough time to do it all in two weeks, so I think we will be returning to the Keskin, but in a different room!! The setting is perfect and weather was great, except for one day, which is not bad out of 14.
Keskin positives + negatives....
I have Just returned from the hotel Keskin (dalyan Sept 11-06), and i must say that when i first arrived i wasn't so impressed-i had to change my room as the smell from the bathroom was unbearable-but this was sorted out quite quickly and i was moved to another room within the day. The grounds & the pool were fantastic-although the pool was to deep for small children, with the shallow part having a sharp drop at the edge-yet properly supervised i am sure they would be fine. The food was a little on the bland side-especially the main courses-the mezes (Various vegetables) where fine though. And the dining area in the evenings wasn't very well lit. If all this sounds a little negative i am sorry and i must point out that the rooms were very good, the staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and kept the whole place spotless. The access into town was only around 15-20 minutes along the beautiful and well lit Dalyan river with such friendly people from restaurants and other buisnesess ready to meet you and also Olive, pomegranets, aubergines, pumpkins, peppers, peaches and even bananas growing all around, i can't really recommend the resort of Dalyan enough. And you couldn't do much better than the Keskin hotel for your stay. I have taken many photos (far to many!) of the hotel and would be glad to answer any questions or share pics and stuff, just email Davidcrtz@aol.com and i'll do my best. Good travels!. P.S- Please be careful on the many dolmuses (buses and mini buses) as they have steps in funny places-I broke my ankle on the transfer back to Dalaman airport!-yet i still loved it there!!!
Very nice holidays
Dalyan is an incredibly beautiful place, perhaps the best among all many Turkish resorts I have visited. Keskin hotel is very well located - only some 800 m. to the centre of the village, and 150 m to the river. The view from the widows is magnificent. It is an unpretentious and medium size hotel - some 70 rooms or so. Surroundings of the hotel are very quiet. Rooms are spacious - particularly family apartments. There are two swimming pools - one quite large. Everything is very clean - rooms, bathrooms, dining hall, swimming pools, and the spacious and well kept garden. Food is very tasty, although the variety is somehow limited. The staff is kind and efficient. However I found lack of the personal touch from the owners and staff members (perhaps with the exception of two charming young girls in the pool bar.)
Visiting The Keskin for the 6th time in May 2006
I'm sure there is no 'Grand Keskin' in Dalyan so, I presume you mean The Keskin Hotel?! We have visited The Keskin 5 times in the last 4 years and obviously love it there! So far we've recommended dalyan & The Keskin to numerous friends and so far not one has not loved it too! The hotel is about a 10-15 min stroll along the riverside path to the main town of Dalyan which is perfect start or end the evening. Over the last few years the hotel has gradually been upgraded with additional rooms, a second (shallow) swimming pool amnd a gorgeous new reception/breakfast area. However, it has not lost it's local charm with all the staff and especially the owner, Metin making everyone very welcome. Most visitors are repeat customers who book directly via the hotel's website but some UK tour operators do go there too (eg Cosmos, Anatolian Sky). I can't wait to get back and wake up to a lovely view of the river, lake & mountains from our balcony, have a filling breakfast on the lovely openair verandah and then stroll by the river in to town. Dalyan itself is a great location if you like to be in a quieter resort, not far from the airport & love boats! Please do not hesitate to contact me for more info.
