Just got back from a fab 2 week stay...
10 / 10
Aug 2008, oldhamer

Just got back from a fab 2 week stay at the andreotis, just wish this hotel was all inclusive as would have been happy to eat and drink there for the full 2 weeks. the rooms are big and clean, only downfall is having to pay 6 euro per night for air con which you need in august. reception staff really friendly and helpfull. Tasos, George and bar staff especially Yvonne and Elanor are great fun, missing them all ready, Chloe and the other girl at pool bar really good fun also. Great food and drink better than on the strip, found beer flat down on strip, also cheaper if you eat the daily special. Hotel in good location not too far from main strip, had a road view room which i loved as our balcony was huge and sat there in the evenings watching people go by, also had a lovely sea view, did not have any problem with road noise so don't be put off if you get a road view. Met some great people, christine danielle and jenny missed you when you went and had good fun with the guys from southampton.
missing the sun and the pool and the laughs we had with Yvonne and Elanor!
bad points, cyprus very expensive, not enough sunbeds need to be up earlier than i am at home, beware if you leave your towel it may get moved!; and paying for air con.
would defo go back though!

Aug 2008, Mrs D Smith

We have just returned from our hols yesterday so are a bit deflated to say the least as we had a great time at both the Andreotis and Protaras . We could not fault anything about the Andreotis. Our room was better than basic and it was spacious and spotless. We were situated on the main road, and yes it could be a bit busy through the day but we never heard any traffic after 11p.m so no complaints there. All of the staff were helpful. The bar staff were friendly and of course, George and Tasos are really friendly. The Andreotis is situated near to the main strip, (Not too near)! which has loads of restaurants, shops and bars and the lovely beach, which has loads of water sports is about a 5/10 min walk. We will definitely be returning to the Andreotis in the near future as we cannot fault anything about both the apartments or the resort.

We have just got back from Cyprus, after staying at the Andreotis Apts. I would recommend to all. Very friendly and clean only 5min walk to Fig tree bay beach.
I was a little disappointed that Thomas cook have no free child places for next year, it will be over 2000 instead of 1600 that we payed this year. They are the only tour opperator in Uk to use the Andreotis .

We tried Cyprus for a change and what a pleasant surprise we had when we arrived at Andreotis. We had an apartment for four which was really spacious with a pool view. The room was clean on arrival and was cleaned most days with plenty of clean towels provided (also plenty of toiled paper - which is not always the case!!).
George and Tassos were great and made us feel really welcome. The food was lovely and we ate at the Andriotis several times. The happy hour cocktails are a must and as long as you dring happy hour seems to go on for quite a while.
Down the strip try Diva Restaurant (steak especially). Fools and Horses Pub have a fantsactic Meat Loaf tribute nite on a Thursday.
We had a great time and I would recommend Protaras and Andreotis to anyone.
Hope to go back again the sooner the better from the awful weather here.

Jul 2008, Miss E Schroeder

Me and 3 friends (All 17) have just come back from a weeks stay in Protaras.
This was out first holiday without out parents and we thought it was absolutely excellant.
The hotel was very clean, reception was very helpful and the hotel staff were lovely.
The pool was cleaned daily, which was needed as there were many children about.
Before going I read reviews about the complex and someone mentioned the amount of children around, even when kids club was on. We found the same problem, however, it didnt bother us as they kept up the shallow end of the pool, while we used the deep end.
We did however find the same problem many people found with the shower.
Our bathroom also flooded on a number of occasions, however we kept towels around the shower in the end which seemed the solve the problem.
I would definately advise getting the air con. We didnt for the first night and no one could sleep.
Another problem we found was that when you took the key out the mains to lock the door, the air con went off. However we were so close to the pool we left our back door open when we were sunbathing in order to keep the air con on.
The appartments are situated in such a good place. Not too far away from the strip and the beach but not too close either.
We would definately recommend The Love Boat Bar, especially on a Tuesday and Saturday as they have a hypnotist who had all the party in stiches. Another Bar is right up the strip by mcdonalds. I cant remember the name now, but all cocktails are 2 euros. One of the cheapest places we found.
We all thought the holiday was definately worth the money and would definately go back.

Our stay in the Andreotis Appartments...
9 / 10
Jul 2008, Miss JL Govey

Our stay in the Andreotis Appartments was so much better than what I had expected the rooms were very big and very clean as the maids were wounderful and cleaned so much even in just a weeks stay.
The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome from the start to the end of our holidy especially Tassos the barman who will make sure he remembers everyones names and keeps the bar open till late!
The atmosphere was perfect and very suitable for couples and families looking for somewhere to have fun and relax.pool area keept very clean and the grounds were lovely and well kept.
Over all we couldn't falt our stay here the only reason I didnt give a 10 out of 10 was it was advertised that you can pay for late check out and was not able to do so which was difficult as we were a late flight going home but this was just a miner detail and the room provided to freshen up was adeqate enough,so all in all we would definatly stay here again.
How ever We wouldn't travel with Thomas cook again in a hurry as the flight returning was awful being kept waiting for 2hrs at the airport with no information being given to us and then to make things worse there was no in flight entertainment which Thomas Cook staff found amusing but on a 4hr 50min flight it was no joke and was also only offerd one drink on this flight and had to ask for anythink else we wanted.

I fully agree with the comments made...

Jun 2008, Mr B Nelms

I fully agree with the comments made in the previous review. Protaras is becoming a little too "tired" and overloaded with cloned restaurants and bars but the Andreotis makes up for that. The hotel is located on the edge of the town so it is away from the noise and bustle but close enough so you only have a 3 minute walk to get to the centre. The hotel is clean, well decorated and the staff are superb. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bed linen and towels every other day.
The bar/restaurant really makes the place. I have now known Tasos and George for 10 years and they treat you as a friend as opposed to just a customer. The food is excellent and really good value for money with just the right mixture of English and Greek food to keep you happy. Martin (English chef) and the rest of the kitchen staff work their socks off from 9am, when breakfasts start, until after 10pm in the evening when they are still feeding those that like to eat a little later.
All the girls that worked in the bar and waited on the tables were also very friendly and helpful. Yvonne, from Scotland, could spot an empty glass from the other side of the Restaurant and refill it in seconds (keep the brandy sours coming Yvonne).
The entertainment consisted of, mainly, Euro 2008 football but the two evenings that we attended, The Greek night and a singer (Adi, an ex-Royal Marine but I can't remember his surname) were excellent. I think the hotel feels that they have the strip on the doorstep so they don't try to compete with the entertainment but provide excellent and good value food.
In summary, an excellent holiday that left us feeling that we had got our moneys worth. So much so that we have already booked for next July when we are going back with our daughter and son in law.

Myself, my husband and my 14 year old...

Jun 2008, Mrs K Roberts

Myself, my husband and my 14 year old son have just come back from a week in Protaras staying at the Andreotis Apartments.
I have to say I read all the reviews on here and thought we'd hit the jack pot,but We were a little disapointed.
When we booked we particually asked for a pool facing apartment, but found ourselves facing the main road.I did ask if there was any chance of us being moved, but neither the hotel staff or the Thompson rep( she was hopeless) ever got back to us ,even to say no.
The first few nights we were there we didnt have the air con as my son had a bad throat and we have found that it made it worse so we made do with the balcony windows open.It was a night mare the locals tore up and down on bikes and in cars ALL NIGHT and I mean ALL NIGHT! My husband and son managed to get some sleep but I had to grab mine throught the day. The room were clean, but shabby and certainly didnt seem to me to be very ideal if there were indeed four of you. The shower constantly flooded the room, so we had to use our towels after we had showered to wipe the floor down so to prevent any one slipping. Also do remember toilet paper has to go in a bin,not the toilet, and as the maid never came round every day and it was extemely hot I found this a little UGH!
The pool area was very nice and very clean and so to was the bar area.
The food was quite nice but not out of this world, and the staff were pleasant but not outstanding.
Fig tree bay was v nice. The sea was lovely and clear and there were lots of beds and parosols available for a small daily charge.
The beach however was littered with cigarette butts which didnt seem to be cleared too regually.
The water park at Aiya napia was excellent, our son thoroughly enjoyed it.
We talked to a local shop keeper who moaned about the euro coming in to Cyprus which he said had pushed all prices up by about 10-15%.It certainly isnt that cheap there any more. The only thing that we personally found that was exactly as every one says were the Cypriot people. All of them were curteous kind and anxious to make you feel at home. All the restaurants we visited were spotless and so were their toilets
(I always think if they bother to keep them clean there kitchens must be good too!)
It was rather to hot for us (it reached 45 degrees one day the hotest jun since about 76 we were told) but that was totally unexpected for both us and the locals.
we definately would go to Cypress again, but we would like to try a different resort and we wouldnt stay at these apartments again if we returned to Protaras.
We did go and look at other hotels and apartments and they all gave us cards and said
we could contact them direct to book a room so this would probably work our cheaper
unless you got a last minute deal.

Jun 2008, Mrs L Wallace

Just returned a fortnight ago from the Andreotis. This is our third time to Cyprus and this trip was by far the best. The Andreotis is extremely clean and spacious and the pool area is wonderful. However, what really makes the holiday, is the friendliness of all of the staff. Tassos, George and all others (too many to mention) were amazing. They always made sure you were happy and were never to busy to talk to you. The whole feel of this hotel is wonderful and from the moment of check-in where you should meet Carmen, you feel at home. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel and out of everyone we met on this holiday, they all felt the same. Many people say that this accommodation is basic, however, comparing this to usual Cypriot standards, I would say that as a whole, this hotel stands head and shoulders above many of its competitors.
