2 Adults and 1 nine year boy June 2010
we book the second week of June.
the hotel rooms were cleaned every day with fresh sheets and towels. the mini bar was filled every day with soft drinks.
food was varied with different choices every day with three or four main changes.
BBQ cooked outside most days.
a number of pools to include wave pool or one with water tubes.
24hr bar with all inclu drinks ( lots of different ars) there are anumber of resturants and one that you can pre-book for an extra special evening.
DO NOT RENT car from hotel have a walk down the road and you can obtain same vehicles for less that half the price.
take EURO as this gives you bet bargaining power when buying things.
we enjoyed 5* treatment
only let down is the hotel entertainers as they dont now how to act and they are not fun. great outside entertainers that come and perform for the hotel.
hope that you enjoy ur time at this hotel

the hotel has a great architecture and landscape.it is on the lara beach. we as a whole group enjoyed the experience.
best hotel food i've had. a la carte restaurants are as good as an original italian or a mexican could be.
the beach bar is very enjoyable.animation team is not very great however, hotel facilities are entertaining. there is rafting, wave pool, slides, seaside, water sports.
the hotel has the biggest lobby, the whole first floor in fact is the lobby.
rooms were very spacious, clean.comfy and tidy. the hotel in overall is very clean.
the turkish bath, hammam is an experience that should be tried.
spa and indoor pool are relaxing.
- Advice: highly recommend the place

I would not class the hotel Kervanseray as 5star more 3. The food was nice, the cleaners worked very hard to ensure your room was cleaned, which it always was. There was no atmosphere whatsoever, kiddies entertainment from 2100 hrs for one hour other than that it was turkish background music, by a man on a guitar in the beach bar . The Hotel was situated on a lovely beach with ample pools and good variety of food,. Very rude Russian and German ho,liday makers, scots are good at queing but the russians have never heard of theword they are very rude and self centred barging past and pushing in demanding the attention of barmen before others waiting. There was a wide variety of water sports but no evening entertainment whatsoever, an out door disco, but dont dare sit on the seats in the garden area as this seating arrangement is for the people who like to smoke turkish pipes, and they will ask you to move. There is no telephone available in the hotel apart from the one in your room. The nearest shop is quite a distance away to walk and be careful of turkish men kerb crawling in their cars, personal experiance of this, opening door of car to try and get you in it. The water way was not working at the hotel and the wave pool was only on once. I was very dissapointed in this hotel and the area I feel there should have been more variety in evening entertainment after the first week it became boring bed pool beach dinner lobby bar bedevery day for a fortnight. I will never be back , I love Turkey and will return to Turgutreis or Bodrum, or Tekirova but not Lara Beach until 20020 when it is more developed.Moe Thomson (young thing age 48

Have to say, you could have eaten your dinner from just about any surface in the whole hotel complex. Very clean indeed. The room was clean and cleaned every day of our stay also. Food was excellent and plentiful although me being a fussy eater had to search a bit to find the things I like. I didnt go hungry!
The only problems we found with the hotel was actually other guests. They were extremely rude and barged in at dinner times and at the bars. This may be a cultural thing, but the Russian guests were particularly rude.
All of the Waiting staff were very kind and nice, but the Reception staff were not the most pleasant.

We read alot of these reviews before we travelled and I was a little concerned. However, please don't listen to those complaining that it isn't luxourious as it should be(did you pay the price of a 5*.....doubt it) or that staff were rude (I fear they probably had a right). Food that was produced for such a large number was great and the A la carte restaurants were very good, one use is free per week of stay. Beach was very clean with lots to do and choice of bars was very good. We didn't bother with the entertainment and did our own thing. I would say that the finish in places could be better and reccomend the last day boat trip as the room "kicks-out" at midday and our flight was silly O'clock the next day but all in all the week was brilliant value for money.
- Advice: didn't really see any of it

This hotel should be only a 4* and that is being generous
The hotel on arrival seemed ok but very dark. The room was very spacious but the decor was not crisp as it should have been. One of the large mirrors was cracked and had an hole in it? This was reported and the crack and hole had cellotape put over it??? The safe was not working and was not sorted until late the following day. The fridge was stocked daily and the room was cleaned.
The meals were ok. The choice at the buffet was good and the al a carte resturaunts were nice. Although the booking for the resturaunts was a pain. The waiters also tried to take your plates away even though you had not finished.
We took 2 children aged 10 and 6 and there was nothing for them to do...the brochure said it was family friendly which was untrue. The driving school for kids wasn't working, the ten pin bowling had broken. The rest of the activities were timed, ie the few rides they had were open for 1 hour a day. The water chutes were running twice a day for roughly 30 mins a time. The games room has 2 pool tables and 2 table tennis tables for a hotel of 585 rooms.
The animation team (entertainment) were annoying and pestered you. The evening entertainment wasn't up to much but was bearable. Each bar must have had only 1 cd for music and had it on repeat. It got a little tedious after a week.
Throughout the hotel there was glass cracked and was not being repaired. The lobby and was impressive visually as were the rooms but the finish wasn't perfect.
A lot of the staff were ignorant and unfriendly. Although a few did seem nice and were talkative. The reception staff were like robots and never smiled. When we checked out they just took the door cards and towel cards and walked off. There was no asking if we enjoyed the stay or even a thank you.
There was 2 football pitches which we were not allowed to use and the crazy golf no one new where the putters and balls were. The rest of the sports activities were only available at certain times.
This hotel would be ok for couples or singles but definately not for families. Overall the hotel was average but for the cost it was a rip off. The other hotels in the area seemed a lot better.

We had read reviews before traveling to this hotel, last year we had stayed in the Delphine Palace, a hotel further along the same stretch of beach. Upon reading the reviews we were a little concerned, however our stay was excellent. The hotel facilities are excellent value. It is a very modern looking hotel and very large, the main foyer/reception is vast and if arriving in the late evening the lighting at first glance is dark but dramatic. The hotel is totally international, there are many people from all european nationalities. We have an 8 year old son and did struggle to find like aged boys from the uk. The overall service was not to the same standard as last year, however the hotel is rated 5 star and I could not disagree, dinner at the main resturant in the evening was faultless and the beech bar lunch offer was excellent with fresh grilled or fried fish served each day, many places to eat and drink and the entertainment each day was great with slides and games and many things to do. If you have not been to turkey before, watch out as the sun is hot, 40 degrees+, however once you have been you will want to go again!

myself and my husband was attacked by fellow guest's at this hotel for trying to get a glass of water, i was pushed with force out of the way of the watering pump to which my husband asked what these ppl where trying to do, he was punched and kicked to the ground as was i.even thu the hotel security came along to the attack they let the unknown men to us go on their way back into the hotel to which after the security ppl took us to our room these men once again attacked us inside our hotel room, i sufferd a fractured nose and had to recieve hospital treatment. the hotel and rep for thomas cook promised us these men would be dealt with, instead a few days after the attack they could'nt find who they where and what room they where staying in so myself and my husband recieved a noise complaint letter from thomas cook and the hotel which stated that if anymore accurrence's happen during our stay we would be bannend by the operator.
when i asked our rep to recieve the statements from the hotel security for my holiday insurance she was reluctent to do so, fobbing me off with ''you would'nt understand it as it is in turkish'' i told her my insurance would need this statement anyway, she meet me at the hotel to only further accuse myself of talking to other british guest's at the hotel about how she was'nt a ''good'' rep, these other guest's wrote complaint's about how we was left to deal with this attack on our own, i never did recieve the hotel statements i asked for many times.these other british guest's where ppl talking to a cuple who witnessed myself and my husband being attacked, i felt all i got was a brush off from the thomas cook rep.
she was very unprofesional with her customer's when the going got tough, which to in my eyes it never really did for her but to only do some simple running about after statements which i am sure i was intitled to. when i read my hospital report it states the hotel told the medic i was assualted by my husband, now i relise because the hotel knew they had'nt done their best to keep me and my family safe and after the attack in our hotel room the hotel statement's must just claim me and my husband where some what fighting, ''proberly eachother'' !!!!! this is all i can think thier statement's contain as i was quite clearing not allowed to have thier statements.
