We stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch this year for a 3 night stay in Disney. The cabins were very tired they need a complete revamp. It was very basic and the interior was very tatty. I would return to Disney as i thought the parks were excellent but i would choose to stay somewhere else!!

My kids renamed it the Davy Crook Ranch
Because of the large size of our group, we booked our reservations with Davy Crockett ranch. We had a total of 10 people, ranging from 10 yrs - over 40. We reserved 2 cabins. This was our first and last time at this resort. Upon arrival the temperture outside was a burning 90 degree. We arrived and found out that the pool would be closed for our entire stay (not informed prior to reservation). The children and I were very disappointed. We had seen the pool on the Web site and in the vouchure and looked forward to enjoying it. In addition to no pool and 90 degree tempertures, the rooms have no ceiling fans or AC. But the manager provided us with one 15 inch fan for 10 people - which was reserved with 30 Euro. At night we slept with the windows open which let bugs inside because there are no screens on the windows. After showering, we applied bug repellent so that we wouldn't get eaten alive by insects. On a scale of (1-5) 5 being best, I wanted to rate this place with at least a 3. But after we received the one fan for 10 people and in addition no pool. I'll rate it a 2. The best part of the stay was the breakfast which was fresh. The best way to stay at the Davy Crockett Ranch cabins - is to stay away all day.
Excellent Value
Been to Disneyland Paris 3 times, twice staying at Davy Crocket. Like home from home. Facilities in cabin are fine, with two adults and four children we had ample room. Comparing the cabins to the My Travel Explorers, the whole family prefered Davy Crockett, for the space the amenities and the freedom. Only draw back is you need a car as to far out from the Disney Village, where as you could walk between other sights.
Fantastic Holiday Will Go Again
We stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch and had a fantastic time. Cabins were brilliant, warm, spacious and clean - just a few ants but as it is in the middle of the countryside this is to be expected. The swimming pool was great, we went at least twice a day. Pony rides were fun. It was my daughter's birthday and they arranged a cake to be brought to the table, at the restaurant, and played Happy Birthday over the music system. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- as we got lost driving in the dark and arrived at 11.05pm and they rang the shop on site and they stayed open for us. Breakfast was more than you could eat. Very safe for children to go out and about by themselves. The only downside was Euro Disney as it was Easter and very busy, not a recommended time to visit, 4 hr queues, even with fast track tickets. This year we are going again but not at a holiday time. I would go just to stay at the ranch and not go to Euro Disney.
Davy Crockett Ranch okay, but Disney Paris not up to scratch
The Davy Crockett Ranch was basic but clean, apart from the ants and spiders in the cabins, the smell outside was awful. Disney Land paris, is diffinately now where near as good as Florida, it lacks the usual disney sparkle due to the fact that the staff are rude, the service none existant, the food was well overpriced. There is no organisation if you wish to see the charatchers be prepared to fight your way through, they don't know how to queue and take turns. Whilst we were waiting to watch the parade two french ladies started fighting over who was standing in the space first, not a good thing to see at the best of times when you have your children with you, but in a disney park diffinately not exceptable. If this happended in Florida they would be thrown out of the parks, but in Paris the staff just watched. I will never go back to Paris, not because of the Parks however as the rides are similar to Florida, but because the overall atmosphere is a complete let down. If you have ever been to America don't even bother with Paris its awlful!
great holiday
we went to disney for bonfire display..... the firework display was fantastic, never seen anything like it, euro-disney parks we're soooo clean, we all enjoyed it, davey crockett ranch was a good choice for us, the swimming pool was great too. staff we're very friendly. true what they say, the child comes out in you when you see mickey and minnie,
Will go again
Lat 48.83142 N Long 2.80477 E and the GPS took us straight there. To be honest we would have found it anyway as it is well sign posted off of the A4. It is a good balance of cost and being close to Eurodisney. The hotels nearer were too expensive and the cheapest hotel did not have a pool. Davy crocket has a super swimming complex, ideal to give all a break from walking around. It was a easy 10 minute drive to Disney, again well signposted, just back onto the A4 AWAY from Paris and it the next junction along. You do not even need to actually go onto the A4 as the slip road that you join the A4 on, turns into the slip road exit to Disney, so just stay on the slip road - easy ! Cabin, basic as you would expect for the cost, clean, tidy (ok sparse, but, who needs clutter anyway). 5 electric heaters kept us nice and cosy even when it was icing up outside. Shower was very decent and a never ending supply of hot water. There is a bath, but, we just used the shower. Microwave, 2 ring hob, dish washer, TV, kettle, filter coffee maker( take your own filters) and fridge. We did all our shopping nearby as Auchan so do not know how much the on site shop was. Auchan is at 'centre commercial val du Europe' Long 2.77858 E Lat 48.85241 N) Breakfast fine, 3 mins walk max, I could not believe some people drove to get their breakfast ! No complaints about anything from us, 4/5 star luxury it is not, but, nor is the price. We will go again for sure.
Eurodisney for teenagers
Much improved from our first visit 11 years ago. The new movie park really extends the appeal, particularly for older children. Customer service is definitely improved (nothing like America but they are learning). Unusual for breakfast at the Davy Crockett. Collect it yourself when ready (between 7 and 11) - two croissants each, a huge french stick, lots of butter, jam, chocolate spread, marmalade and sachets of tea, coffee and chocolate drinks. The cabins have a dishwasher so just fill it - and go! We got up too late on our third day for breakfast (what a waste of a day I know!) but I telephoned reception and they brought us some. Five of us (Brian, 51, Margaret, 46, Paul, 22, Seb 21, and Matt, 14) went to the Davy Crocket Ranch. This ranch has been criticised on net reviews recently but we found it extremely good. More of a cladded caravan than log cabin but very clean, warm, adequate furnishings and only ten minutes drive from the parks. If you have teenagers or older children, give this a try. We did not particularly want to share a hotel room with 3 boys going on men, so this seemed an obvious choice. The accommodation was better than standard 3* med holidays, probably 4* self-catering standard. TV with a sports channel. Not a suitable kitchen for if you want to do much in the way of cooking - but who wants to spend huge amounts of money for a theme park and spend time cooking?! If you have younger children, don't let them get too excited about meeting the farm animals, we only saw one rabbit and two cockerels. Seb still suffering the trauma and he is 21! We did wonder whether this would be a suitable holiday as nowadays our eldest son usually goes with friends and our youngest is fast approaching that age, but Disney still works its magic. They might not have got on 'It’s a small world' if Brian hadn't pestered but we have photo-evidence of their smiles on that ride! For teenagers musts are - Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Aerosmith, Motor action show and for all, Honey I shrunk the audience. Queue for Aerosmith while the Motor show is on (and while they are queuing). We rode it three times during a 30 minute show. Not sure who Armageddon is for. Smaller children frightened with all the noise, we all just yawned. Advice for night-time There is a nightclub in the Village (under 18s can go with a parent/guardian until about midnight) however, boys found this a disappointment as the price of a beer was well over £5. The sports bar in there is a much cheaper option. There is also a video games arcade open till 11, (beware fast disappearing money in here - this is the biggest rip-off in the park!). Faults? Unclean toilets with no paper and very wet floors. Having said that, the facilities within restaurants were clean. Only other problem (apart from food over-pricing which we all know about and expect) was that the fast-track system was continually 'down' for some reason or another. Smaller less important things - pool at Davy Crockett very cold, water slide and jacuzzi out of action but still very welcoming to aching feet after a lot of walking. If Davy Crockett want to do one thing that would really improve the holiday – get a shuttle bus to the park and village at night – with no transport available except your own, the driver ends up not being able to have a drink on their holiday. Most people seemed to want to return about 11, with a few nightclubbers returning in taxis (20E) about 2 am.
Excellent All Round location
Stayed at Davy Crocketts with our 3 children (aged 4, 7 & 8) in a 2 bed cabin and a wonderful time was had by all. The cabin was very comfortable, spotlessley clean & bug free. Please bear in mind it is a caravan made to be a cabin and not a 5* hotel room! The beds were comfy and there was plenty space for us all. The facilities on site are good with plenty to keep the children entertained. A car is essential but it is only a 10 min drive to the park with free parking. We found the staff very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful with more than enough food to go round us all, fresh milk coffee and hot chocolate with butter and jam for the bread and croissants, without the mad rush you get at the hotels. We ate out but the facilities in the cabin are adequate to prepare a good family meal. Maid service is available on request if required. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place over the hotels as you can get away from "disney" for a few hours. Its both a quiet retreat and easy access to disney. Cheaper than the hotels and more suitable if the family is larger than 2 adults 2 kids. An excellent place to stay!
Expected basic,but basic and dirty,no thanks !
Stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch for 4 nights and will not be returning. Expected basic as only a 2* accommodation but not basic and dirty.(Disgusting kettle sent back,tv not working, cigar butt in bedroom in a non-smoking lodge!!!). Chose to eat out for all four nights as not happy to use facilities. The barbecue outside was filthy and there was nowhere to sit as the area surrouding the lodge was very small and full of overgrown weeds etc. Used the pool only once. The Spa area was closed. The only good points were it was very quiet at the lodge and the breakfasts, although basic, were fresh and enjoyable. Although booked a 4 night stay we managed to do EuroDisney in 2 days and were able to go to Paris for a day which was a welcome change. Would I return to Eurodisney? Yes, but in a couple of years time and at a different hotel.
First class Disneyland self-drive/catering resort
Read horrid things about the French, the lack of Disneyland magic in Paris, the crowds and the weather. Was also worried about the resort being a junction up the motorway from Disneyland itself. Just got back from Davy Crocketts Ranch, Disneyland Paris and I have to say it was a fantastic trip. - Go in January the whole resort is empty!! Certain rides may be closed due to winter weather - but we didn't queue for any rides and stayed on some over and over again. Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, Big Thunder Moutnain, Honey I shrunk the Kids, Animagique, the Cinema and stunt shows are MUSTS in your visit. We were 2 Adults and 2 children, ages 7 yrs and 4 yrs, staying in a one bed cabin. The bunk beds are high, yes, the mobile home (sorry, log cabin!) was slightly tatty but very CLEAN. Take tea towels, milk, tea and coffee. You have to venture out in the rain to collect your breakfast each morning - 2 croissants each, a bread stick, tea or coffee, chocolate drink for the kids and a handful of jams and butter - the milk is dried. There is a shop on site if you need more. We took mini cereal boxes. We didn't use the small basic kitchen facility in the cabin - we ate out - but if you are on a budget - this is a more practical way of staying at Disneyland. You park your car infront of your cabin which has a bbq/picnic area beside your front door. Heater systems worked fine. The place was silent at night. Checking in and out was no problem. There is a barrier entry exit system which gives added security. Loads of things to do for the kids and it has the best swimming pool ever. Resturant is expensive and self service, but was ok for our needs. There is an outdoor adventure for adults - 3 hours of swinging and climbing through trees - didn't try but will definitely book if we ever go in summer months. Getting to and from the park was no problem at all - just bear right onto the motorway at junction 13 staying in the right hand land which filters you straight onto the Junction 14 exit. It took only 10 minutes and you do the same coming back J14 to J13. You get free parking in the Disneyland car park and you can still exit late when the park and car park is closed. Davy Crockett Ranch is part of the Disneyland resort magic so you can still buy your goodies at the park and they deliver it back to the DC Ranch shop for collection later in the evening when you return. You can also use your Davy Crockett voucher to buy and charge everything to your cabin even in some of the restaurants - like Cafe Mickey, which is extremely expensive, but so worth the visit for the kids!! The Wild West show, again expensive, but we all loved the evening - good food and full of laughs. There are disney characters on site and they really do make a fuss of the kids. We stayed in January - wrap up warm, take waterproofs, but the bonus of this time of year is that EVERYWHERE is empty - no queues, no waiting and all the staff have time to chat. Everyone speaks English and everyone wished us a pleasant day. As it was my boy's 7th Birthday everyone who saw his birthday badge gave him extra attention - especially Donald Duck!! Davy Crockett Ranch may not be ON SITE, but you don't feel alienated at all from the magic - in fact, you feel special because at the end of the day you can get away from the noise and don't have to share with millions of screaming kids running up and down corridors at night and pushing queues at breakfast, the staff were so nice and helpful and as for Goofy - he played hide and seek with my children in the rain. If you love privacy, self-catering, camping or caravaning or a quiet sleep in woodland surroundings - this is the place for you.
